"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Did you not say something to the girl that stood in front of you??

Of course, I mentioned I had been standing in that spot for the last 45 minutes. She did not budge. Her mother, who was off to my side, saw I was trying to videotape, and asked her daughter to move a little to the right so I still had some kind of space to shoot video. I swear the girl moved about 2 inches and that was the end of that. I could not do any panning to the right without having a big head in my way. No further efforts were made by the mother, and the daughter did not move any further. Had I said more, it would NOT have been pleasant, so I kept quite.

I have read similar comments about rude guests in the past. I'm sure most of us have experienced someone who has no concern for their fellow guests and are only interested in their experience. I hope that most of the people on these forums are not like that. I established my priorities for the evening, and showed up early for a decent spot. I did not spend those 45 minutes enjoying the party with the plan to just show up to the parade at the last minute and ruin someone's view.

I'm starting to get a little confused. I wasn't paying attention before now, but when we got our tickets we were mailed "paper tickets". We have our Magic Bands that arrived by mail. And MDE recognizes that we're going to the party. What do I need to do/show a CM for a wrist band? Do I need to verify that our tickets are linked to the magic band? We will be in MK all day the day we attend MNSSHP - what is the correct procedure to get the MNSSHP wristband that day?
If you are already in the park for that day, visit one of the wristband distribution centers. If you are not visiting MK that day and enter the party 4PM or later, there is a separate entrance for guests who have party tickets. Use that entrance NOT the one for regular day guests. Once you pass through the party entrance using your magic band there will be cast members placing wristbands on the arm opposite the magicband. So if you want to have all your bands on one arm, either take off your band prior to getting to them, or have it on the non-preffered arm' ahead of time and switch it later. Do be mindful, if your magic band and party band are on the same arm, you may be asked more times than usual to show your party band if it is obscured by your magic band.

Question. I am an international visitor, so I am only able to print my confirmation that I purchased the tickets. When I get to the park that morning, do I need to let them know I purchased party tickets? I mean, I know they are tagged to your Magic Band, but I want to know how will they know that in order to give us our bands.

Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question

You can't get the wristbands in the morning. They'll have stations set up at 4 to start handing out wristbands, and like DVC4US said, they'll scan your Magic Band to determine that you have tickets for the party.

Can someone tell me how much the poison apple steins are and what comes in them?

when we saw them on 9/27 at the walk up window across from Enchanted Tales with Belle (idk what that QS location is called specifically but it offers frozen treats like soft serve ice cream, candy corn soft serve cones & sodas), it was $13.99 filled with a sundae of your choice. we asked if we could just buy it unfilled since we didn't want to deal with sticky steins in our bags all night. the CM was able to ring it up for a little less. i'm not sure if other locations have it filled with other stuff like soda for a different price.

I couldn't find those mugs last night! We found our parade spot early, but afterwards would found that some of the rides we wanted to ride was not running.

I posted on the Chaos thread our other experiences.

I'm finally back from my trip. We went to the October 1st party. Weather was good, but the crowds for the parade were absolutely nuts! I staked out a spot 45 minutes early to the right of one of the pillars at the top of the stairs at Diamond Horseshoe. I watched the crowd grow and grow, it was crazy! 5 minutes after the parade started a fairly tall teenage girl walked directly in front of me and stood on a small ledge between the plantar and handrail for the stairs. There was no way this was a safe spot, but either no Disney employee noticed or cared. My view was now blocked. Thank you to miss inconsiderate.

Please be respectful of those around you. It's amazing how many rude people there are in the world.

When we went to Main Street for Hallowishes, I was shocked at the low crowd level! I actually sat in the middle of main street, near the bakery and watched the show, and no one blocked my view! There was plenty of room all down Main Street! On our night the parade was far more popular than the fireworks! Maybe because they are later this year, some people aren't staying?

I had wanted to purchase a poison apple mug, and while I DID see them, There was so much to do, I thought I'd just get one later in my trip. I was not aware these were a party only item, so I was not successful in obtaining one later on. :worship:

This kind of stuff happens to me all the time because I travel solo. Sometimes I feel like I am invisible! I can't even tell you the number of times people have stepped right in front of me and blocked my view. Ugh!

We met her last year and she didn't have a line - or even an official spot - and she didn't do anything. We just got our picture and moved on. Sounds like we just got her on a lame night. :)

Thank you now that makes sense. I never realized she had a name, how did I miss that?

Thanks!! Any idea where these stations are? I am trying to plan things out for the beginning of the party to make sure I get to Jack and Sally's line EARLY lol.

If you buy the 1 day Memory Maker when does it actually start? I was planning on getting it when I went to the park at 4 for MNSSHP. I wasn't sure if it ended at midnight that night, or if it was a full 24 hours where we could use it some the next day.

Does both the cauldron and dancing ghosts magic shots must be taken on MS or can they done elsewhere?
Last night we were able to get the dancing ghosts Magic shot on Main Street as we exited. It was a photog nearer to the castle, during a Hocus Pocus show.

We found a photog near Pooh who could do the cauldron shot. And last Thursday we found a photog near the wall in Fantasyland where the Tremaines meet during the day who was able to add the cauldron effect.

The steins were $8. My friend bought just the stein at sleepy hollow. I bought mine there and the choices were ice cream, lemonade or soda. I got the lemonade and was charged the same price as my friend for the stein and then for the lemonade so it was 2 separate items....so price varies depending on what you choose. FYI the apple is very large. I also saw them in frontier land and I think those had soda.
My hubby got one in Frontierland. It could be purchased empty for $8 or with soda for a couple dollars more or with a lemonade slushie for about $14. Have also heard reports of other locations during the parties with ice cream / sundae offerings.

I've seen 1 station at/near Mickey's Philharmagic. I've heard there are 2 others - 1 in Tomorrowland, and maybe the other in Adventureland (??), but those I can't confirm.

FYI - I was at J&S last night by 4:20 and was fifth in line. They came out right at 5pm. Enjoy!!

I can't recall who asked originally but I saw 2 "coveted" items last night:

1) Pumpkin spice waffle is available at Sleepy Hollow. CM at 4pm said he'd seen them this week every day after 4pm but wasn't sure if they were going to be (or supposed to be) just on party days. When we went to buy 1 at 8pm, a second CM didn't know of their existence...he had to ask when we insisted they should be there (barring having used all the batter for a day).

2) Vampire Mickey popcorn containers are $12. Saw them just at 1 location nearest the hub on the right, as you head towards Fantasyland. Not sure if they are at other locations. Saw people on 2 different party nights with the Zero popcorn containers, but since I wasn't specifically looking for them, am not sure which stations have those.

Rain chances are now at 40-60% my entire trip. We usually go in May and rain chances mean we will have an afternoon downpour and then be done. Is that what October is like, or is it an all day rain?
It rained quite a bit last tuesday and wednesday......then again during Fantasmic last Friday. As a matter of fact, they called off Fantasmic in the middle of it. We left as it was big drops then heard the announcement that it was being canceled.......by the time we got to the main street it was pouring buckets!

My dh picked up the apple stein at Gaston's during our party night. It was $8 unfilled. Incidently, he had to ask for it....it wasn't out in plain sight, it was behind the counter.

Sadly I missed both of these items! I did not see the Vampire Mickey popcorn bucket anywhere. We were at the party on Oct 1 and Oct 4.

We were there last night too. I already posted how crazy the minnie/Donald/daisy line was. Cruella and jack and Sally were long too of course. We found the ride lines very short. We got to the Pooh line about 10 minutes before their set and only had about 5 parties in front of us. Only waited about 10 minutes for Mickey just before the 2nd parade. Came out just before Phineas and ferb came by with their pre show and easily had a spot right there in town square front row for the parade, but it was our 2nd party and DD and DH were ready to go. Hocus Pocus show looked crazy at the earlier shows, we did it at midnight our first party and if you can stay up that late that is the way to go. Hitchhiking ghost photopass didn't hAve a line either night, probably because it is so far back at Splash now and hard to find. We saw some empty trick or treat lines in the last couple of hours. Could have walked right through. I would highly recommend going in the exit of the haunted mansion and spending some time listening to Madame Carlotta out on the lawn. She tells great stories and is hilarious. Makes for a great haunted mansion photo too. She was our favorite last year, and still is this year! If they would just add a few more special characters back in, maybe some of the lines wouldn't be quite as long. They need to spread people out more.

I need help with a plan. We are going next Tuesday.
We are not interested in characters.
We will get there at 4 and have FP+ for the 3 mountains.
We want to see the parade, fireworks, and hocus pocus show. We will stay until closing.
We would also like to ride haunted mansions, POTC, buzz light year, laugh floor, and mi e train if possible.
We might do trick or treating if we could fit it in.
Also, my teen daughter wants her face painted. Where would that be possible?
Can anyone help me develop a plan?

Without Character M&Gs, your plan is completely do-able, provided rain-delays don't interfere. Don't remember seeing any face painting, so I'm no help there.

All of your rides will likely be walk-ons or close. Those that aren't, wait to come back around and check later in the night. We did this with 7DMT and walked on near the end of the night.

I'd do your FPs and work in rides in the lands, do any shorter ToT spots as you pass by, etc 4-9.

Catch the castle show at 9:20, followed by the projection show on the Castle at 9:45, Hallowishes at 10, then find your spot for the second parade with a snack stop. Once that's passed, check those longer rides you may have skipped until close.

To piggie back on this question, I'm curious if we could get our pictures for the entire day (9:00 am through midnight). I thought I really wanted to get the MM for MNSSHP, but after hearing about how hard it is to find the Photographers that can do the special shots, I'm thinking it may not be worth it, unless we could get all of our ride photos, etc., for that day. And if we could get it for the full day, do we need to purchase it in the am, or will the pics for the entire day automatically show as being able to be downloaded?
