We want in on the Fish Extender fun!! How do we sign up?
Hi Pookers family, and welcome aboard.
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
I am working on getting a spot set up for you in one of our FE groups.
While I work on it from my end, I need you to get your post count up to 10 (you can do this easily enough by responding to other posts, saying hi, or just posting a count down time).
As soon as you reach 10 posts, I can PM you the info I need for the FE sign up.

~Tink ~

Beings that we are 7 weeks and 5 days away from our sail date, we have reached the time to wrap up our sign ups. Time is going to fly by, and I don't want anyone stressing about loose ends as we draw nearer.

Pookers, please get up to 10 posts so that I can reach you via PM regarding the FE.

If you have any questions or concerns about the different sign ups, or you need a copy of one of the lists, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can get everything finalized this week.

Now it is time to start getting excited and to finish marking off our check lists. We will be dancing at the sail away party before you know it.

We are all booked on the cruise, coming in on Thanksgiving IAH from California. Any suggestions on where to stay? and how about getting to Galveston? We are a family of 5. Stay in Houston or Galveston?? Love to hear thoughts from Disney traveler.. The transfer seem to be our biggest hurdle right now.

Have you checked into the Disney Transfer? From what I heard they are offering transfers from IAH. If you decide to stay by IAH for the night, I highly recommend Sleep Inn and Suites Intercontinental East. We stayed there the night before our last flight to Disney World. They had a free shuttle to and from the airport, and the rooms and staff were nice.
I can look into transfers and car rentals tomorrow when I get on the computer if you like. Also, Kathleen60 lives in the area, maybe she may know of something that is available. One other idea is to check out Uber.
If you decide to head to Galveston on Thursday, there are quite a few good places to stay depending on what you want from the hotel. I did a great deal of looking into Galveston hotels. I also know at least one other board member also has some good information as well. So if that is something you are interested in, I would be happy to share, as I am sure the other family would as well.

I hope this helps.

I can't believe you booked this far in advance. I don't think I could wait that long without turning into the Mad Hatter!! We just booked yesterday. 54 days till we sail seem like eternity!! Bring on the Disney!! Let's do this!

There is a formal night (usually the Captains Galla ), and a second optional formal, which for the holiday cruise, it will be a winter formal. As for the nights, it is a little uncertain since this is a new itenerary. Hopefully we will be able to see a Navigator from one of the first few sailings in November.
Side note, for the winter formal, my family is doing a character formal theme.
Check this link out for more information on our sailing.

We break up the excitement into bite size pieces, having a planning party every month. These last few months are the toughest though.

You are doing great!
You are at 7, only 3 more posts to go.

By the way, I am not sure if you saw the information about the different meets as you were reading through the thread. We have an ice cream social planned for the 1st day at sea, and are working on putting together a mixology group, and a cabin crawl. If you are interested in any of these activities, please let me know, and I can include you in on those conversations as well when you reach 10 posts.

Monday Forget Me Not's.....

Happy Monday everyone, we are in the home stretch. After today, I will only have 7 more Monday posts!:hourglass

Today, I wanted to remind you to bring your Ears! :earboy2: I know you all already have a set attached to your head, and those are not the ones I am referring to. I am talking about your favorite Mickey / Disney Ears. I don't know about you, but I would not make a trip to any of the Disney parks without my ears. Well, the cruise is no different. Characters and cast members alike love to see guests immersing themselves in the magic. And one way to do that is to show off your favorite pair of Mickey Ears.
If you are planning on get pictures with characters, Mickey Ears always make a nice addition to your wardrobe, plus, it is fun to see the characters reaction to your choice.
You will see me sporting my Minnie Ears ::MinnieMo on my Disney Cruise sailor hat on day 1, and then I will most likely be wearing them to the ice cream social on day 2. Beyond that, who knows when the Mouse spirit will strike.
If this is your first time sailing with Disney, but you have visited the parks before, plan to show your excitement the same as you would at the parks. After all, we are actually going to be on a floating Disney park!
And if you find you don't have enough luggage space for your ears, just wear them when your boarding!
One extra bonus of having your ears with you, is they work great to decorate your cabin with. For those of you who are taking part in the cabin crawl, you will see how I liven up our cabin with not only our ears, but my Tink wings as well.
Don't be afraid to let the kid in you out. :mickeyjum

Tuxedos for guys?? Formal wear?? What night is it? I was hoping the Pirate night was on a night we were at sea... It's not. Maybe you guys are smart to book so far out. I have so many things I want to sew for the cruise. Where to start??

Here is a copy of an earlier post that had a little bit of information about the dining nights.***side note, our guys are bringing 1 formal out fit, and switching out the shirt and tie***
In other news, I'm attaching a picture of a schedule for the dining nights for our cruise--a guy on Facebook shared it to a group there (yes I was trolling their group, but just to gather more planning info--I like the Disboards so much more!). :P

He said he got the schedule from the DCL staff (all this is subject to change of course), but it's more info than we've had thus far since these fall Galveston cruises are a new set of itineraries and there aren't any old navigators that exactly correspond with our cruise. He also said that the biggest "maybe" is that Prince/Princess night and Captains night could swap places, but that is probably the only thing that would change.

i'm trying to attach it--hope it works!

Please add us to a FE group. :) We are ready to get crafty!

I will get the information about the FE out to you shortly. I will also add you to the conversation about the ice cream social.

Just for information sake, here is some info on the 3 different activities:

Ice Cream Social: This is basically a meet and greet. We will be getting together to meet each other face to face, and we will be enjoying ice cream while we are socializing. We have scheduled this meet for 1:30 on Sat. (our first sea day). We will be meeting by Goofy's Galley, which is on the pool deck, just out side the buffet. They have soft serve ice cream machines there. Different people have offered to bring different items to make sundays. The list of who and what is in the conversation I will add you into.

Cabin Crawl: This is a fun get together which gives everyone participating the opportunity to see a variety of cabin styles on the boat. All of the participants allow the group to take a peak at their cabin during the cabin crawl. And to make things a little more fun (instead of just walking from cabin to cabin), we will play a game along the way. Something like poker where each person will get 1 card per cabin, and at the end, we will see who has the winning hand. Or a trivia challenge in which each cabin will have a trivia question prepared, and we will check our answers at the end, and the person with the most correct will win. Finally, trashketball has been suggested where we could shoot baskets in the trash bins in each room. Those details still need to be hammered out, along with the time.

Mixology: This is an adult class put on by a Disney bartender. It requires a minimum of 20 participants, and does have a fee. During the class, everyone gets a chance to make different drinks, which is followed by getting to drink them. At the last mixology I attended, we learned how to make 6 different drinks. Volunteers made the drinks (enough for each person to get a full serving of each type of drink), as the bartender instructed the preparation and gave us some back ground on the origins. You do not have to drink all of the drinks, but you can. You do not even have to be a drinker to attend. One couple expressed interest in taking part said that the DW does not drink, but wants to take part in the fun, so she has said her DH can have all of her drinks. For the price (which I believe was $20 per person), you get a great value. You will definitely get more than $20 of alcohol.

We want in on the FE for sure!! The Ice Cream Social sounds fun, sign us up. Hoping there aren't Disney activities scheduled at the same time, will have to see how it all plays out. Possibly the Mixology... Not sure about that one. No thank you on the Cabin Crawl... Will be crawling into the pool most likely. :)
Thanks for putting all of this together. Most excited about the FE. That's just too cute. Kind of a Secret Santa on a ship. I love it!!
