Another way to add value to the AP which will have new amenities starting tomorrow. Disney apparantly wants to sell a lot more AP's!
Wow-- this card is beyond useless-- at 150 (FL resident price) you would need to spend 750 on sit down meals before breaking even-- then another 750 to have a savings of 10%---I guess if you are taking a trip where you plan to spend 1500 on sit down dining, 10% is better than nothing....
Do the prices usually always go up on a Sunday?
Just talked to CM who saw a memo ALL ticket prices are going up sooner than later.
Actually...I hear Iger has tinkered with the idea of raising prices on Sunday's, Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Saturdays...
And possibly also on major us/Canadian holidays...
Waste not/want not
See this is where you are mistaken-- The prices will be raised on all days, but mondays, wednesdays and fridays will be discount days.
Parking went from $17 to 20 ... a (nearly) 18% increase?
Seems harsh. I know that actual inflation is higher than the official inflation, but this is ridiculous.
Remember that super-expensive, elaborate reconstruction and flyover announced for the MK toll booth and parking area? The one that some of us speculated was precipitated by plans to build condo towers near the TTC ... and maybe elsewhere around the lagoon ...
And the gigantic garage at DHS which will apparently cost as much as the entire theme park cost to build 20 years ago?
Err, nothing, just reminding you. Probably not connected at all.
All "improvements" are now COD or worse - cash up front. It used to be that we paid for these things, but over time…if a park was constructed - its debt was financed as part of the the longterm picture. I saw an estimate (i can't remember where) that epcot was still being "paid for" until the wand went up…
But big shot Bobby and his fake tan aren't having any of that. They lost phony money on their stocks and they are NOT HAVING IT. china is in trouble? - squeeze old faithful. espn going down? - squeeze old faithful. stocks "volatile"? - squeeze old faithful.
You got it, it's park improvements (and condo and mall construction) on the COD plan.
I can understand - not justify or approve, but understand - the panic that can set in among execs whose compensation is closely tied to short and medium term stock performance. When they're faced with getting close to zero bonuses and stock option profits for the coming fiscal year then they will absolutely take a chance on killing the golden goose by mugging their drive-up customers and emptying their pockets. The worst thing that can happen if they screw up is that they'll trigger their golden parachutes.
The only really interesting question is whether "old faithful" is all that faithful. There's such a thing as depleting the aquifer ... or in this case, annoying the water so much that it decides to stay at home ...

I also think this increase may be another way to encourage guests to stay on-site. You might get an $80/night hotel (on the cheap side), but tack on another $20, plus rental car (though we drive), and the off-site stay starts to look a little less appealing...
They are definitely trying to increase the monetary benefits of staying on-site. Add to that the 180+10 on ADRs; the 60 day vs. 30 day FP+; Packages delivered to your room, etc.
Normally ticket prices are raised in January or February but it sounds like it could be earlier this go around.Any idea when tickets will go up? I was going to wait until Feb to get my MK tix but will buy sooner if they are going to raise the prices. Thank god I still have some non-expiration park hoppers to depend on!
