Did not get paid

I also wouldn't put any of this on FB or other social media....folks where I work facebook stalk applicants...not cool...but it happens. That is why DH and I do not have FB accounts. So if other employees have access to your FB and they are reading things...then things get back to your current employer...geez. And please never ever take a photo of your drinking alcohol in any uniform then post it on FB...even if you are not wearing the company badge. Didn't happen to me but other co-workers.

You do realize you can "lock" your account so only people you accept as friends can see what you post. Silly not to have a FB account in case of potential employers. Just don't go friending your coworkers. Easy peasy.

LOL. I HAVE to have a FB for work, and I HAVE to stalk people on FB. Usually the most embarrassing photos of people are on OTHER people's FB page.

Yes, I know you can lock people out...but still...some people just don't think.

How do you know who the other people are? I have very tight settings on FB, no one can tag me, etc, without my permission. If a person isn't tagged, etc, are you making the assumption that the person you think is in the photo is the person you are "stalking"?

OP - definitely check with your local labor board to find out what the laws are about withheld salary. Doesn't matter if the company 'made a mistake'; if they owe you money they should have cut you that check immediately. I think they chould include some interest as well.

Exactly. You can be unsearchable and not allow people to even post on your page. It isn't that difficult.

You have no control over other people's FB page privacy settings. If you are tagged in photos on their pages, you can be found. People can't get to your FB page if your privacy settings are set that way, but we can see that embarrassing photo on someone's page We do it almost everyday at work to track down people or their friends for stories
And FB isn't the only place you can be tracked down. There are photos of me from 1975 on my High School website. Optical recognition software does some amazing things converting text.

Here's a little test. Go to Google. Click images. Search your name and see what comes up.

Interesting. A whole bunch of pictures of people who are not me. There are tons of tagged photos of me on facebook - Not one of them shows up.

BTW, I have an uncommon first name and a very rare last name. My first and last name combination is the only one in the US.

ETA: I searched my maiden name, which is also uncommon. Still not a single photo of me.

Me neither.

And you can stop people from tagging you in FB photos. The pictures will still show up, but you won't be tagged in them (unless you approve it). That is how I've set mine and I've tested it (by having a friend tag me and declining the approval and then having other people check out the picture).

You can prevent people from tagging you in photos.

Not sure why anyone would care if people could see photos of you from a yearbook or from newspapers. They may not be flattering but certainly not going to impact future jobs, unless they are images from being arrested.

I have mine set so I have to approve any tags of me before they appear The photo is still there but not the tag. For personal reasons I check I weekly along with my other privacy settings. I don't care about high school yearbook photos. Everyone looks goofy in those.

I did the google images not one picture of me, but there was one of Donald Trump. :scared:

LOL. Twins separated at birth?

I was curious about an old girlfriend from almost 40 years ago. Found a recent photo of her in images........she was a family photo linked to an obit for per mother.

You are aware that people on FB can "tag" you without it linking to your FB page, which of course you cannot control?

My wife isn't even on FB and she is tagged in photos and those turn up in searches.

Someone posted a photo of my 1968 little league team with just my name in the caption and that comes up, as does a scan of a letter to the editor that I wrote to Popular Science Magazine back in 1973. Internet is an amazing place. But I have to sort through a lot of stuff because my name on the byline from hundreds of articles I have written for our company website come up too.

That's because she does not have a FB account, actually. There's a setting on FB that uses your friend list, so none of your friends can tag you without permission, and that can extend to 'friends of friends', etc. Typing in a person's name brings up the account.

This. And if I google image search myself there are two photos. Both work related. None of the hundreds of face books photos one my account even the ones I'm tagged in appear there.
