Who's already planning for 2017 or 2018

I love your thinking! Every time we think about heading to South Carolina to see my brother and his family, I start to seriously try to figure out a way we can head on down to WDW for a few days or even one day. It would still be a six hour car trip to get there but so much closer than Illinois. I jump on the Disney website and look at rates. Maybe you could chose a moderate instead of Beach Club. I have stayed at three of the four and they are all nice. They have pretty decent pools and even water slides, so that might get you there in April. There would be a big price difference between the two.

Wow! I am surprised that the DVC option is showing up as being cheaper. That would be great! I, too, often wonder if it would make sense for us to try renting points for DVC or just go through Disney. Let me know if you do end up getting a good deal and doing that.

The 500-600 you already have saved is a great start! Keep it up!

I'm spoiled, well not really but I stayed at the BC once shortly after it opened and I remember the talk about a boardwalk area "over there" from the boat driver. I was 18/19/20 years old.

I want the BC because I want my kids to swim in the pool. The mods don't interest me in the pool aspect. It would kill me to be so close to the magic of Epcot and not go in though.

It's not going to happen, sadly, my sister mentioned something about going to the keys for a night or two.

oh and I just cashed in another $100 Disney gift card tonight. $50 from my point and $50 from places. I just got closer.

Well, I've checked in but not posted to this thread since Oct. 2014 - so here I am again - at least almost a year has gone and our September 2017 Disney World Vacation is that much closer! :tigger:I've been bidding my time on disboards, reading - visiting the Disney website, booking "fake" vacations and adding the restaurants I would like to my Wish List - and recently I have been living vicariously through others that have been lucky enough to go Disney World - some friends of ours just took their grand-kids and my niece and family are there right now - I saw a picture of her son getting his first haircut there (he was 1 in May) had his little first haircut Mickey ears on. :earsboy: Makes me happy to share in their journey by seeing pictures - will be so exciting to listen to their stories when they get home - my niece also has a daughter that is turning 6 soon and is down there with two girl cousins that are her best friends - so she is going to have so many interesting stories to share. :chat: :earsgirl: I can't wait until I am the one coming home from Home (my home away from home) and sharing all my stories. pooh:

Sanders pooh it is nice to hear from you! I agree it is nice to dream about our own trips as we read and hear other people's trips. It sounds like you niece had a fun trip with the little ones. I bet there are lots of cute stories and photos. Your niece is propably happy to share the stories with someone who iIS really interested in all the details and hearing them! 2017 is a bit closer now. Are you planning a fall trip in 2017, right?

Another 100way to go!

I understand you desire to go to the BC

Hi everyone. I'm planning for the week before Easter 2017. We went this year at that time (our first trip), and it was a huge wonderful amazing time, thanks to disboards, touringplans, and easywdw. We stayed at WL this year, and I think we want to try BC or YC for the 2017 trip. I loved everything about WL (and the boat ride to MK was possibly my favorite part of the whole trip)! DH and DS really like HS and Epcot most, though, which is why the possible move to that area. I'm glad to find this thread.

Hi chisinau! Glad you found us! Sounds like the BC or YC will be a good choice you you. How old is your son?

Have you thought about what you definitely want to do again and what things you did that you don't plan to repeat.

I think That will make a good topic for all of us on this thread. What is something you have done in the past that you don't plan on repeating on your next one?

Will be doing a second honeymoon in December of 2017. Are first/real honeymoon will be London/Paris/Rome in the Fall of 2016. The following year though is all about WDW will be doing 12-14 days at our home away from home the GF. Plan on doing many things I have yet to do mostly non park stuff (i.e. parasailing). We are thinking it may be our last trip before kids so need to enjoy the freedom.

Two honeymoons! Nice! I think your idea of going parasailing during your 2017 trip sounds like fun. Happy planning!

Does anyone not a DVC and book thru some place?

I was crunching numbers yesterday (aka avoiding cleaning) for the Poly to see how much I have to save, OK in reality I know how much I have to save and I am 1/10th of the way there!

But I put in the same 2 dates for next August (we aren't going til August 2018) on the Disney site and then on a DVC place and granted the Disney site said room not avail for a studio so I put in for a regular garden view room minus discounts and the DVC site was around $800 cheaper.

I am a crazy person trying to save to go. We have a change crayon (the big crayon bank) and I have saved that way before for a video camera, Hawaii (I was single for those so I threw in $20s all the time) and 3 or 4 trips to Disney. I am doing way to many rewards sites so I am hoping to cash in that way to pay for this trip. I am headed to Target this weekend to cash in $100 Disney gift cards and that will put me up to around a whopping $500-$600. Pretty sad but I look at that as 5-6 days of food so far.

I *almost* had my dh tricked the other day. My youngest was looking at Disney pictures and my dh said we went in 2012 and I said yes we did which means we go back in 2017 since we are on the 5 yr plan these days but in reality we went in 2013. He finally realized his mistake.

I go see my sister in Ft. Myers in April and the past few Aprils I have looked at the Beach Club to see if there is any sort of discount, just to go for 1-2 nights to swim in the pool and take a break from the beach but I am not in the mood to spend $500+ just for that. So hopefully this April, it will be a bit cheaper and we can do that, or go to the Keys for a few days.

I've rented DVC points twice. Once at BLT and at VGC. Yes, it is cheaper than the regular room rates and most did outed rooms. But there are some downsides such no refunds and housekeeping only every 3 days. Although you will be spoiled after staying in deluxe accommodations!

My niece will be 4 in September 2017 and that's when my sister & BIL want to take her on her first Disney trip. Since I do all of my family's Disney trip planning my sister said I should plan their trip - and go with them!

I was hoping for a return in 2016, but DW is thinking more in 2017. Hoping for another magical deal. We stayed at the Poly for the first time this year. I would really like to try the GF next. DW does agree that the perks of staying onsite are a plus.

Planning to go March 2017 and I have started a thread for it. Possible resorts include ASMusic suite, AoA suite, two rooms at POP or maybe renting DVC points.

Thanks.

You reminded me about the housekeeping but that is no biggie. I use my towels at home a few days in a row plus I can get a few at the pool to use as well and drop them off in the pool towel return when I am done with them.

The no refunds I don't think will be a problem either because I won't cancel unless someone dies...even then...hmmmm....they might want me to take a vacation to forget my sorrow, right???

It would be at the Poly so the only difference there would be the 2 showers which would be super nice in the am but since I am the first one up by 6 and showered by 6:15 impatiently waiting for the rest to wake up but my kids will be older and they may want to shower in the am but again they will be full swing t(w)eens by then (17, 14, 12) and one of them may want to shower but I think they will choose sleep til last minute over showering.

This sounds like a fun trip! GO for it! Being at WDW for your niece's first trip will be fun. Kids of all ages typically love Disney but at that age, they still are awestruck with the characters - it just makes it that much more fun! I would probably opt for the dining plan (regular one) so that you can go to a lot of character meals for less than if you paid for them all out of pocket. On my last trip, my DD and I did a lot of character meals early in the week when we were there by ourselves before my husband and son joined us. She was 10 at the time and enjoyed them. I did too. This next trip I will plan more dinners of places where I just want to try for the food instead of the characters.

I have to agree with you. I love the perks of staying onsite. We take advantage of the extra hours and also I just like the convenience of the transportation between resort and the parks. I don't have to worry about the Orlando traffic and finding my way around.

Planning to go March 2017 and I have started a thread for it. Possible resorts include ASMusic suite, AoA suite, two rooms at POP or maybe renting DVC points.

It would be nice to have a suite or two regular rooms just for the extra space. Hopefully, there will be a discount on the rooms during the time you are going to make the price of the suites more in line with the two regular rooms.

Thanks.

I had to smile at your post. You are like me, a early morning riser, jumping up at the crack of dawn and excited to start the day but you have to wait around for the rest of your family members. This sounds like me when we travel. My hubby and two kids are all night owls and like to sleep in. I have a hard time getting them up and going.

The first year I brought my husband was in the mid 1990s, we were not married then and I thought this is not the guy, LOL! We spent a few days at universal and sea world and then went to the wilderness lodge because he didn't want to stay at my beloved Poly and pay those prices even though I was paying (he won't stay anywhere else now but the Poly).

Me being a Disney vet and knew the early bird beats the worm motto, I was up. He eventually woke up only because I made enough noise to wake him with showering, drawers, breakfast and lights. He proceeded to visit the 'library.' Here I was getting knits in my stomach because 8am was looming and the park opened at 9. he finally got in the shower and we strolled into the park at about 9-9:30. He then realized the lines and the next day he held it u til we got to the park (sorry men who visited that bathroom in tomorrow land.

He has since learned from that day from me and my not so nice mumblings and he knows, I am up at 6, showered and then he wakes up and once I am out of the showers I open the curtains and the kids wake and by that time he is in the shower and we are out the door by 7-7:15.

He knows we take a few non park days and he can sleep in if he wants. I was even up on our last day by 6, bathing suit on and I did laundry which was done by 8 ans I was at the pool.

Helli,

Love this thread ! Happy I am not not the only Disney Lover planning for 2017 :-)

We live in Switzerland so we cannot come as often as I'd like...

I'm already planning our next Disney Trip for summer 2017. We stayed at the BC on our last visits, will try GF next time :-)
Might have a short Easter trip to Disneyland Paris next year.

WOW! :worship:Good for you! :worship: Had to laugh at how you made you hubby wait to use the "library" at the park to keep you on schedule for opening. :flower: I love how you were up by six and already had laundry done by 8 too.

On my next trip, I plan to let everyone know what time I will be leaving the room the next day and if they want to join me they can but I am not waiting for them. :rolleyes1The kids can either get up and go with me in the morning or sleep in with their dad and meet up with me at the parks. In the morning than, I can just get up and go and do my own thing and have plans on where I will meet everyone else.

:welcome: Vaninou!

I can only imagine how the distance and the cost would be a HUGE factor in when you get to visit the parks here in the U.S. From your signature, it looks like your last trip was in May 2015. Did you write a trip report? I enjoy reading trip reports and am always looking for new ones to read.:magnify:

I, on the otherhand, am not the best at writing my own trip reports. Or at least finishing them! I actually am still writing my own trip report from my last trip, Feb. 2014. I did not start it until almost nine months after our return. I have enjoyed writing it and have added lots of details and photographs. I just has been strung out. I have enjoyed reliving my trip through the telling of the story. I am finally on the second to last day of my trip (the last day in the parks). So, I just need to finish it and will do so by the end of October. I am mainly just writing for myself now, since I expect the few followers I did have at one time have given up on me. I want to do a better job on my next trip making notes and actually writing some posts while still at Disney and do a quick one immediately following the trip.

My daughter wants to visit Disneyland in Paris so she can ride the Ratatouille ride. She loves that movie. It is one of her top three Disney movies. :lovestrucWe have even made the raratouille dish several times just because she loves the movie so much. Have you been on the Ratatouille ride in Paris? I think it would be great if they would somehow add it to EPCOT or perhaps Hollywood Studios at WDW.

So, let's share some ideas and plans. What is one new place you want to try out on your next trip? Is it a new resort or a new restaurant? Or even a new park or experience that you have not had the change to do before.

I will start. In the Magic Kingdom, I am looking forward to riding the new Dwarfs mine train. It was still under construction when I was there last. As far as a new restaurant I want to try, I would have to say Kona Cafe at the Poly and Sanaa at AK.

I studied English at school so it's not easy for me to write a trip report.... Sadly...
Will try maybe next time
I've never been on Ratatouille's ride, will do it for sure next time!!!
The only thing with Paris is that you don't feel the Disney Magic people are agressive, unfriendly and always trying to bypass you when you are in a queue.
Last time I went mad when we were waiting to see a character. Half of the people waiting start to push the little ones to be first in the queue... I was with my DS of 3!
That's why I prefer to wait and go to WDW !!!!
Love that place

The rudeness of the people in the lines at Disneyland Paris sounds awful! That would definitely tuen me off going to.

What rides are you looking forward to going on at WDW?

We have a trip planned for April 2016 at Fort Wilderness, but we will be going back in October 2017 and staying at a deluxe resort for the first time. My youngest child will start school that year and we will be saving $400 a month in daycare costs, so we are going to finally be able to afford it. My first choice is the Contemporary, but we'll see!
