Disney Wonder crossing the Panama Canal, Aug 26, 2016

We are just the two of us for this cruise (Rog & Pam) meeting up with friends we met on a previous cruise. It'll be our 6th cruise (all DCL) but the longest so far. We no longer have school issues (sorry to those of you who have those tough decisions) but being self employed has its own unique scheduling challenges. Sooooo, we decided to simply make a statement about being away and do it. So happy and excited to have committed to the journey. Look forward to meeting more of you here and aboard.

:welcome: to our cruise thread!
It's great to have you on board. Lucky ones not having school issues any more. We still do, but this cruise just works out great as we go back to school on Monday after the cruise. Enough time to head home.
You are so going to enjoy to have so much time on the ship. It is awesome not having to pack up a few days after you got on. We have done back to backs and always loved ALL the time we had on board.
I put you on the list of cruisers in the first post.

My husband (DCHill613) and I will be on this cruise! It will be his 5th and my 6th disney cruise. By then, we will also have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise, so it will be our 6th and 7th cruise, respectively. We are very excited about this cruise and are also interested in the FE when it gets going!

:welcome: to our cruise thread!
It's great to have you on board. Where is your Royal Caribbean cruise taking you? We are currently looking at some other cruise lines for another European cruise. But not sure yet and we might go with DCL again. ;)
I put you on the list of cruisers and the FE list. Guess I need to start a list soon - could you please PM me your and your DH's first name and your stateroom number if you already have it?

Bermuda. Sailing from Cape Liberty, NJ on the Anthem.

I'll PM you right now. :)

And also, my husband and I followed your "get off the ship..." TR in preparation for our honeymoon, which was our first sailing on the Fantasy! So we're really excited to meet you! Are you combining this cruise with another? I see in your signature that you're planning to do DL, then this cruise, then WDW. We plan to fly into Vegas, and do some Rt 66 road-tripping, before this cruise. And my parents live in Cocoa, Florida so we'll see family after the cruise!

That sounds like an awesome cruise! We have to get together during the Panama Cruise so I can ask you a load of questions about it. :rotfl2:

 Um, we will be trying to be on our best behaviour. We would LOVE to meet up with you, esp. now that you remind me that I still have to post the last few days of that TR. ;)

Unfortunately we won't be able to do a back to back with this cruise, but 2 weeks on board should be awesome. We will fly into MCO and stay at WDW for 15 nights before flying to Las Vegas, stay for two nights, then drive to LA and spend 5 days and nights at DL. We'll drive to San Diego the day before the cruise and stay at the port. We will only have one more night at WDW after the cruise before we HAVE to fly home. Going back to work/school again on Monday - should make for a fun start of the school year with me trying to fight jet lag. :rotfl:

Based on our tentative schedule, we may be in Vegas at the same time! If not, we'll have just missed you! :rotfl:

I am pretty sure we'll have a little time to find out IF we are in LV at the same time. If so ... it would be awesome to meet up before the cruise. :goodvibes

Wowser! Now THAT's a vacation! I can't even imagine that much time off in one chunk! Congrats!

Hi there! We're very excited to be joining ya'll on the Panama Canal Cruise next August!!! :cool1:

We can hardly wait for it - luckily we have a cruise this fall the week after Thanksgiving to tide us over until next summer. :)

It will be me and my sister (PrincessJJ - also on Disboards) on this cruise - we'd love to sign up for the FE as well as any cruise meet up or Cabin Crawl that gets planned.

Alright - here's to a year and 2 days of planning! :cheer2:

Hi all! We are also booked on this cruise leaving a year from today!!! It will be me, DH and DD (who will be 6 at the time of the cruise). We also debated pulling her out of school but she will only miss the first 4 days of first grade. She is rather timid though so this decision may come back to bite us :) My husband lived in Panama for a few years and he has always wanted to do this cruise. We have booked it in the past but would change to another one. This time we are keeping it (hopefully) and are very excited about it! We are also interested in participating in the FE exchange. Thanks!

EDIT: We had to change our plans and will no longer be on this cruise. Have fun!!

Have y'all heard they are changing the rules about bringing on alcohol? It is now 2 bottles of wine or 6 cans of beer per person per port. No hard liquer :( Also, they no longer will accept items to be signed by the characters and returned at the end of the cruise. You can have some things signed at the character interactions, but that may slow the lines for all of us. Also, there are rules about what you can ask to have signed - item must be Disney and must match the character - no pillow cases. Not a deal breaker for me, but thought I'd give y'all a heads up.

Hubby and I will be booking this cruise in October on the Fantasy.. This will be my 10th cruise and hubbies 8th., and our second time doing the EBPC. We will be traveling with our friends and first time DCL cruisers, Karen and Erl. Hopefully my best friend, that I met on our first EBPC, will be traveling with us as well. Best Cruise Ever!!!

I am sorry it took a while to answer to the new posts, but we have been on a little road trip through Italy and internet was kind of patchy.

Lucky you having another cruise planned before this one. :thumbsup2 I will add you to the list of cruisers and the FE list. So far no other events have been planned, but I guess there will be some more lists in the first post pretty soon.
Would you please PM me the first names of everyone who takes part in the FE and your stateroom number. Guess it is really time to start that list and tomorrow it will be done.

Great to have you on board and I hope you keep this cruise. I guess missing four days of school should not be too bad.
I will add your name to the list of cruisers and the FE list as well.

I did read about it while on vacation and while I am not happy with it, it is what it is. It was nice as long as you could bring as much as you wanted but it was only a matter of time until Disney would follow all the other lines.
You can still buy liquer in any port of call and pick it up at the end of the cruise, just not consume it during your cruise. We usually brought quite a few beers on board as my brother likes to try new ones and does not like the ones they offer on board. Hope Disney steps up their game and offers a wider variety in the future.

I think this is something that has just gotten too much to handle. We have never taken anything to be signed, but every thread I have been on had people hand in multiple items and it just got out of hand.

It will be wonderful to have you on board as well. Please let me know once you have actually booked this cruise, so I can add you to the list of cruisers.

DW and I have been eyeing this cruise for a while. We'll be putting our home up for sale soon, so it'll really depend on how the home sale and buying a new home process goes. We're also holding out to see if there are any military rates like the EB cruise this year. Normally we just book early, but we want to try the military rate for our next cruise. If all goes well we'll see you on board!

So my main goal is to do the inaugural half marathon at Disneyland Paris ... which is 2 weeks after the cruise gets back. My boyfriend REALLY wants to go on this with me though. So fingers crossed that this still may happen ^_^ If he goes along with me, it might just work :)

Awe good luck!! I hope everything works out for the best ^_^

Hi everybody :wave2: thanks Karin for reminding me about the cruise thread :)

We booked on opening day and I couldn't be more excited :hyper: It will be my mother and I joining you guys. She might try to convince her DBF to join us but no word on him yet. It will definitely be mom and I. We're also going on the Fantasy in January, so at time of sailing this will be moms 7th and my 8th cruise. All DCL. And it will be our longest. I can't wait for 14 days on the ship, that will be heavenly!!! I've wanted to do a long one for forever it seems! I'll be 33 and she'll be 60. We haven't done an FE since our first cruise, let us think about that. We've only done Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries so this will be fun for many reasons.

LOL. My mom called me and talked about coming on this cruise with us, but then looked at her calendar and said it was too close to the DLP race (she plans to voluntear) :-)

Good luck with the race!

Hi everyone! We just booked today! Our group is me, DH, my Mom, D (14), D (12), and S (2)! We sailed on the Fantasy back in fall 2013 and we've been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to book this cruise.

Back in Spring 2012, I stayed in Costa Rica for 17 days as the Artist in Residence for the Sloth Sanctuary. I was bummed out that I didn't get the chance to visit Panama while I was down there and vowed to take the family to see the canal. Here we go, right!?!?!

Note: We are totally interested in doing FE's! We will be spread across two rooms, though. Both on Deck 2. I'll msg you later with the details, Dizneeat!
