As you can see, it is possible it MAY just go into the Atlantic.

I was just going to post this! GRRRRR! I like the computer guess - however, I'm flying from the Northeast on 9/14 to Orlando so don't come up here either! hahahaha

Really tho - it's expected to strengthen but lol look what happened to Erika

Cruising on the 14th and I'm trying not to freak out. Wonderful calm summer free of any major hurricanes and now it's just one right after another. Sigh.

We are on the September 19th also. :)
It is too soon to worry about good old Fred...hurricanes, TS and other interesting weather changes on a dime. Most recent case in point was Erilka.
:) I will keep an eye on it when it gets closer.

That's like saying there wasn't much snow last October and November, but there's sure a lot of blizzards in December and January.

There is however 3 hurricanes category 4's in the Pacific, one heading north of Hawaiian island. The one by Cape Verda islands, I think will stay away from U.S. Coast.

Good point. But there have been plenty of years September has come and gone without hurricanes.

I'm on the Fantasy on Sept. 12, 2015 (flying in on Sept. 11), so I'm even more worried about this than the Sept. 19 people.

We are on the same sailing. No need to be worried, its taking a west north westerly path if you read what wundermap is stating. With winshear, cooler waters, the fact it's still way off from us, and its back down to a depression by Saturday I think your good. Me? as long as I am on that ship with my family rain or shine is fine by me. Bring it if you must as long as I still sail! Enjoy the cruise either way!

Not really surprising. We are in the height of hurricane season - most of the storms that hit do so between say mid-August and the end of the season.

We are on the same sailing, I agree, I don't think we need to worry about this one.

Point is I guess that they have great difficulty with Hurricane forecasts much longer than a few days out.

Good to know what MIGHT happen for sure, but making any plans or changing plans this far away would not make much sense...

While I don't believe Fred is going to do anything interesting, it did cause me to double-check my travel insurance fine print. I was suddenly worried they might have some sort of weasel clause in there about sailing during hurricane season. Nope! Fully covered.

I don't normally buy travel insurance, but when I book a cruise during hurricane season I always buy insurance. It's worth the peace of mind.
