Hi all!

Checked into the Poly tonight (6:30) and received a room on the 2nd floor in Fiji, facing the beach/Grand Floridian. My online check in and Touring Plans faxed request were for Fiji, balcony facing marina. Although our view is pretty, I hate that we don't have a balcony or at least a patio. The front desk was super nice and we're switching rooms tomorrow. Normally I wouldn't care so much, but if we're stuck in the room for 24 hours due to a hurricane I want something to look at!
HOPEFULLY you won't be stuck in a room and Erika :eek:will MISS Orlando!:wizard: ENJOY your vaca! Looking forward to your experiences at the Poly!::yes::

Hi!

We are still here at the poly and check out Monday to head to the BC. Kinda worried about switching resorts if Erica hits.

We just love the poly. My boyfriend says he never wants to leave. DD9 wants the bathroom to be her room. Lol. DS15 is very laid back but thinks it's just so cool.

We watched wishes from the pool Thursday night. Last night we did Epcot EMH which wasn't that great because of long lines and we had to take the bus back since the monorail was closed by then.

DD got stung by a bee at the pool Thursday and the lifeguards jumped all over us without me even uttering a word. They could hear her screams. She picked up her mug as we were leaving and the bee popped out of the cup (she didn't have it closed) and it stung her hand. After I took the lid off there was another one floating in there too.

The pool is gated and you must scan your band. At least when I've been there. We take midday breaks at the pool.

We've eaten at captain cooks a few times and it seems pretty decent. We did ohanas on Thursday and everyone thought it was the greatest thing ever. Had a gorgeous view of MK and the lava pool for dinner.

Here is our view from first floor Fiji. We requested 3rd floor but 1st floor is very nice! We are very close to the exit of Fiji so very convenient.

We are having an awesome time!

For that pic my boyfriend did hop down from the patio to get a better shot but that's pretty much our panoramic view.

Nice photo! Hopefully Erika will turn around or blow herself out. 27 days until we arrive for a quick weekend trip for the Halloween Party and Food & Wine. This will be the first time in a while that my girls (college age) will get to be there for the fall decor, it used to be pretty routine for us to come but once they got on up into high school it got harder to miss. Can't wait!

So glad you have enjoyed your time at the Poly! Sorry to hear about the bee incident! Ouch!

Here's hoping that Erica does an about face or fizzles out before it effects everyone at DW!

Thanks for the photo, what a beautiful view!

The pool Hours are now posted as 9 am - 10 pm.

I believe that changed today. The pool was open until 11 pm on Thursday.

Slowly my online check in date approaches and a couple questions popped up.

1. I want Fiji and would prefer a balcony (could live with patio). But if I pick Fiji and balcony and Fiji isn't available I don't want a longhouse with a balcony overlooking construction. Would it be better to pick Fiji and my second longhouse choice? Or would that just increase my chance of not getting Fiji?

2. Considering I never catch the breaks others do, I assume the monorail will either die altogether or be on the most restricted schedule ever, am I better off catching an early bus at the resort to get to MK and Epcot or walking to TTC to catch a bus? (Also assuming my luck will sink all the resort ferries too...sometime I will tell you about my trip to Florence and my glass half empty outlook will make perfect sense lol).
your best option is monorail or resort boat to MK and walk to TTC for Epcot monorail

Listening to CNN and it seems that it is weakening HOPEFULLY for all traveling:thumbsup2! ENJOY BC too!:beach:

Looks like rain all day tomorrow and most of Monday.

Tomorrow is our all day rest day. Hoping to spend it at the pool but that doesn't look like it'll happen. The kids don't mind sleeping in so we'll figure something out for after they wake up. Lol

We then have date night at Cali grill. I hope wishes can still go off. Fingers crossed. I told the kids they can get room service while we go and they are super excited.

Monday we switch resorts with lunch at Epcot and the evening at DHS. We will put on our ponchos and move it along.

I'm so excited :yay: we are finally in single digits with 9 days before we arrive for our first stay at the Poly!!!

:cool1::cool1:

Just posting some weather pictures - this was August 17.

Here come the rain clouds .....

But it didn't last long and the evening was nice.

Great pics (even with the rain). Thanks for sharing :).

We are at 9 days too! I'm going with my dad, and my sister, her husband and their 1 year old.

:banana::banana:

Thank you! I'm more worried about Disney when we get back than the ship. At least I know there's stuff to do on the ship. I hope we don't get stuck in our room for too long!

Hopefully there's no trouble for either part of your trip ;).

Glad you got your building request. How nice that the front desk was able to get you a different room with a balcony :thumbsup2. Hopefully Erica weakens soon.

Glad you are enjoying the Poly! We've stayed at the BC and while we had a nice stay, the Poly is our favorite. It's hard to beat being so close to MK and having so many great dining/shopping options close by at the GF and CR (as well as the WL ;)).

Sorry about your DD, hopes she's feeling better!

Hope your BC stay is as wonderful as your Poly stay has been :wizard:.

This is good to hear for everyone traveling. I hope it does weaken!

CALI GRILL is always SPECIAL for a special date night! ENJOY!:dance3:

We arrive Thursday and are trying to finalize plans. Can anyone tell me if Kona is currently serving sushi at lunch? I know it's been back and forth!

Thanks!

Any recent feedback on Lilo's. Playhouse? Does it have video games? My DS is 10 and loves the play areas in DCL because of the cool video games.

We're due to arrive in less than 2 weeks. It's only one night but we're staying in a villa deluxe studio w/standard view. Any idea what to request? We're going to V&A for dinner and pool/Trader Sams earlier. TIA

For rope drop? I didn't think the monorail would work for Epcot rope drop with the refurb?
I'll check tomorrow. We walked to ttc to get Epcot monorail. We got to Epcot a tad after rope drop, with time change getting to park exactly for RD is tough :-) but we def are there before 9:30!

Hi- we will be at Poly in April. We are RD people and usually arrive at a park 45 minutes prior to opening.
However, at MK we usually just ride Buzz a few times and then head over to BTMR. We definitely won't be trying for 7DMT at RD.

So, if I were to book 7:30am breakfasts at Kona on our MK days, would we make it to MK by RD?
