Disney Magic- Fri Jan 15, 2016 5-Night Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay From Miami

We are booked on this cruise too and can't wait! It is our second Disney Cruise. Last January on the Dream, the water was cold on CC, but the weather was perfect! Crossing my fingers for the same luck!

Is anyone interested in getting a Fish Extender Group started? It was one of the highlights of our last cruise. Our son couldn't wait to see what was left for us.
I hadn't even thought of the water being cold. Fingers crossed that we have beautiful weather and warm water. We would also like to participate in a FE group. We didn't do it on our last cruise, but I think my girls would love the surprises!

My family will be on this cruise and we are so excited (except for the kids, who won't know until christmas). We have 4 staterooms booked, 1. My parents, 2. Myself, DD 17 and DS 10, 3. My boyfriend and his DS 14 and 4. My brother, sister-in-law and nephew 1. We are all first timers and looking for tips and tricks.
We are also surprising our girls with the cruise for Christmas. Are you doing so in any special way? I am thinking of wrapping up lots of Disney themed goodies and some specific cruise merch from the Disney site to give them hints and see how long it takes them to figure out why they are getting sunglasses and sun gear along with all the Disney goodies for Christmas in Ohio. :) We were on the Dream for 4 days in 2013 and LOVED it!

Since no one else has spoken up, I don't mind organizing a Fish Extender Group for all that are interested. Like I mentioned before, it was truly one of our favorite things about the cruise.

The last one I participated in, there was no more than 15 cabins in each group. And if we have more than 15 cabins interested, we can start a second group. So if you are interested in joining, please send me your Cabin #, first names of each traveler in your room, their favorite Disney character, any known allergies, any celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) and any other special notes. I will put together a spreadsheet and pass along to everyone in the group.

If you have any questions, feel free to send those my way too.

Thank you so much for volunteering to organize! I'm new here, so I'm not sure if there is a way for me to message your privately with our info or if I should just post our info here??

I am fine with private messages or if you just want to post to this thread. If you click towards the top of the page on Inbox, then "Start a new conversation", I believe you can start a private message with someone with a DisBoard account. Mine is "DonaldsBiggestFan".

I can't get a message started...tech-challenged I guess. :worried:

We are in Stateroom 6010
April and Rolando (mom and dad)
Isabella (girl) age 10 Mickey Mouse
Sophia (girl) age 8 Ariel
No allegies.

This way works too. Thanks April - got you added to the Fish Group. If anyone else is interested, just let us know!

Darn it, Jackie... You made my heart skip a beat. I almost thought you would be on this cruise. I just had to change a booking from a cruise that has Erin F. on it, which was a bummer. Then I saw your smiling avatar, and thought I hit the jackpot again. Any chance you'll be on this cruise??

Hi everyone!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and Fish Extender discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS) and way before social media was even a thing.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is completely up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM (conversation).

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread and just share a pdf document through a private conversation confidentially with just those who want to join in!

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Enjoy!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need any help getting started! :goodvibes

Aww, you're SO sweet, Mel! No plans to be on this cruise, but hopefully I'll see you on one eventually! That would be super fun! :beach:

Is there any way to get a list of those participating in the FE program so far? I am trying to get an idea of headcount for gifts. I'm about to start crafting since the kids go back to school this week.

Hi, so far it is just your room and ours (2 adults and 1 seven year old son). I am hoping interest will grow as we get closer to the sail date.

Hi - My family and I will be on this cruise! It'll be all of our 1st time on a Disney cruise and for my husband and daugthers (6 and 8) - their first time on a cruise ever. Like others - my kids will not find out about it till Christmas morning and to be honest is is SO HARD to keep my mouth shut about it cause I'm SO excited!

I am thinking along the same line that you are...many different themed ideas that lead up to their final gift being our itinerary. Some of the things I have been thinking of...
1. Beach towel and bathing suit (we are in Ohio also, so this will get their minds going)
2. Something to do with an airplane
3. Something Mickey Mouse
4. a mini cruise ship
5. Something Key Lime (we are going to Key West for a couple days after the cruise)
6. Pirate attire
7. And finally the shirts that they whole family are getting and our itinerary.

They will be sooo excited and I CAN'T WAIT to see their faces!!

I love checking things off the "to-do" list. Flights and pre-cruise hotel have been checked off for awhile. Last night I reserved our shuttle from FLL to the port and back with SAS. I still need to reserve a rental car for our 2 days in Fort Lauderdale pre cruise and possibly a hotel for the night near the airport before we fly.

We still have no clue what to do in Grand Cayman, though! 7:30- 3:30 on a Sunday makes things a little more complicated. And I have no desire to do a sting ray excursion, lol.
