NFL game ticket$

I just bought tickets for my husband and I at $150 a person on Stub Hub for great seats. I find that sometimes the tickets are cheaper if the team they are playing isn't that great or if you try for an "off night" like Thursday or Monday. Between tickets, hotel and travel expenses alone I'm sure we easily spend a $1k which is why we only go every couple years.

football tickets are the most expensive tickets in sports, even tickets way up will run you over $100.00 a ticket

For what NFL teams charge for a seat license now, I think I'd probably give tickets to a friend before I'd resell them for face value or less. If I listed them for sale and they stayed unsold I'd take them down a week before the game and give them away. After all the fees and considering the extra costs beyond face value it's just not worth the hassle when I can give them as a gift to a friend.

Football tickets are incredibly expensive …. the regular season is only 16 games and only 1/2 of those will be at home … maybe less if your team gets shipped over to London for a game.

We've done a couple games and my husband sometimes gets invited to use some corporations seats. But I'll say one thing, I'm definitely not going to pay that much money to sit outside in 10 degree weather which for many of the teams is a real possibility.

Anyone willing to admit to spending $1000 to take their family to a sports game? Would I be crazy to do that? Talk me into or out of it.

When I say $1000 I mean tickets, food, parking, souvenirs. The entire experience.
We paid $7k for two tickets club level season passes. I think we got 8 home games and 2 home games preseason. They get pricey but worth it if that is what you like. Only you can decide.

I can see how it's hard to justify for one day. Though I'm sure some people here have spent that on a day at Disney (trip averaged out). My family spends more than that every year to be season ticket holders at the college football level, but the cost covers 6-7 games.

There's nothing in the world to me like a Saturday at an SEC game. If you love the NFL like I love college ball, I can see how someone with the money to spare could justify it.

Do you have the money to spend? If so no biggie for a once in a blue moon thing.

Try your local facebook groups. People will sale tickets for a cheaper price if they can't go at the last minute.

we spend that much on a Yankees game every year. if you can afford it do it. but look at it this way, one person in your family could have two weeks in Disney world for that price.

Just wanted to add that you do not have to do it as a "family" unless you are all into the Giants. That is one way to cut the cost.

My 7 year old wants to go to a Giants game and holy smokes! $$$$$! I'd like some decent seats since we don't go to professional sports games very often. Can someone please recommend a good website for scoring decent seats at the best price?

Thanks!

nfl tix are so not cheap almost everywhere. Just think baseball - 162 games/81 at home, hockey- 82/41 at home, basketball- 82/41 at home. Football 16 games/ 8 at home, suppl & demand. Before anyone preseason, yeah but really? It's preseason.

We bought three tickets for the jags vs bucs game a few months ago. Think we used stubhub. Anyway, end zone, around $100 a piece. Like PP's have said, they aren't cheap!

$100 would get you to the parking lot of a Pats game. This year it will be even worse with the SB win.

We have hockey season tix and when they played Canucks for the Cup we couldn't attend a particular home game. We paid for the entire season thanks to a rabid Vancouver fan:jumping1:

We have to travel to every game we go to, so we send that for sure. We are planning Steelers in KC this year, spent 120 per ticket, and the 300 on hotel so far. We still have to get there, eat etc...

You are going to L O V E going to a game in Arrowhead! No better place to be than in the Chiefs Kingdom :goodvibes

Don't forget to decibel up!

I'D like to know how one person can stay two weeks at WDW for $1000. :rotfl:

NHL we pay $200 at least for a pair Winnipeg Jets tickets.

I always laugh when people complain about the cost of WDW tickets. You pay about the same for all day entertainment as you do for a 2 hour sporting event or some big name concerts.

I hear that! We lucked out last year and got playoff seats at MTS for face value, upper bowl for 90! I felt like we won the lottery!! Go jets go!

Try looking at pre-season. I know the parking prices are cheaper (I live and work in the shadow of Gillette). My building only charges $20 to park instead of $50. Many of the games are not sell outs. You may not see all the premier players play but for a young kid it's probably just as exciting. A couple years ago I was able to get play off tickets day of game (okay 1.5 hours before) for 50% off face value so it is possible to get cheap tickets even to big games you just have to be patient and able to go at a moments notice. These were nose bleed seats but my husband and son still loved being there.

another idea, see if your town is doing a bus trip to a game. group tickets are always cheaper. I know our town does group trips down to yankee stadium through our youth program. but don't buy tickets through facebook or a private seller, there are lots of fake tickets out there.

We won some free tickets in a raffle. The free tickets cost a small fortune because of parking, food, drink, and souvenirs. Ugh. How did families afford to buy tickets on top of these other expenses?
