Hey all! Does anyone have pictures of a GF one bedroom suite in the main building? It is what I have booked for our stay in the spring. However the only pictures I can find online appear to be from before the renovations. I really want to see! Thank you so much!

Just saying hi!! I hit 90 days tomorrow...sometimes I can't believe it's already mid-August and then other days I'm like "it's only mid-August!! Argh!!"

I don't think I ever closed out my story on my F&W tour, but I decided not to do the tour...LOL! After all that craziness and stalking Disney for the tour to open up, I decided I'd rather use my Rewards points towards our package. Well, that and the itinerary changed some from last year's Ultimate F&W VIP tour and I didn't love the change. It went from a 6 course lunch to a breakfast (which I assume is because breakfast foods are typically cheaper than lunch type food) and last year it included 4 or 5 rides with the tour and this year it was just Soarin' and Test Track. For the cost I'd like to get as many rides in as possible since the tour is almost all day. So, it worked out in the end and I switched my Epcot day to a lower crowd day and got a pre-park opening breakfast to GG so I do think it actually works out better this way!

As a funny side note, I'm wondering if they were having a hard time booking the tour? I got an email from Disney when the tour opened up for booking and then two calls asking me if I wanted to book the tour. I was surprised to get two calls about the tour but it was nice they followed up with me!

Hopefully everyone's having a GRAND weekend!

Just back from my first stay at Grand Floridian. We all loved the resort.

Arrived around 11am and our room was ready but it was in Sago Key. I asked if anything else was available as I wanted Boca Chica. Several rooms were and they let me choose my room on the ipad. We were taken my cart to the room and I quickly realized I had made a mistake.... I had chosen one of the few bad room views right behind the pool house. They were so nice and the man who transported us called in and got us moved down the hall. We ended up with a great view of the pool and grounds.

I cant say enough great things about this resort. The CM's were so friendly and it was just gorgeous. Loved turn down service... so nice to get fresh towels and chocolates as we were 4 women in the room. Loved the location.

Doubt I will stay there again as this was definitely a big splurge but I am so glad I got to stay there once as it has always been a dream of mine.

Sorry but I am super behind here...I thought Boca Chica rooms did not have the pool house in front of them...wasn't that Big Pine Key? Not sure I have the name right - i haven't been since I was 10.

The suites are currently being renovated from what I understand. ..these are the last rooms to be redone. ..so hopefully there will be new pics soon...

Thete are a few room in Boca Chica also that are behind the pool house...Im not sure of the room numbers...but if you are in the courtyard looming towards BC they are on the extreme right... Touring Plans web site has a great room view finder..you might want to check that out..

Loveshak. .Your new plans sound perfect..I understand your rationale too...Glad you have finally been able to get it all in place!!

~Wow lots of big news yesterday on all of the new additions that are planned for many of the Disney parks!!! Sounds very promising!! Especially for DHS...

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are have a wonderful weekend...:earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is happy to have more reasons to plan future WDW trips!!!

69 days until we check in to AoA for our one night Little Mermaid room adventure and 70 days until we are back at the Grand Floridian for seven nights!!!!!! My 4 year old keeps asking when we will go back to the Grand Floridian and she wants to see the gingerbread house. I keep explaining to her that we are not going at Christmas this trip but Halloween!

The best news is that my mom is coming with us for her first trip since 2000! She's going to stay at the GF for 4 nights and WL for 4 nights since the GF was booked for the tail end of our trip. I'm so excited! Grammy is coming to Disney!!!!:flower1::jumping1:

I just booked GF Garden view for the first week of December. Could the group kindly suggest their recommendations for which building, etch to request. Thanks so much!

We really enjoyed Sago Key in December. We stayed on both sides, Disney had to move us bc of a broken tub. Our first room was on the marina side and we had a nice view of the boAts and we could even see space mountain from the balcony. Our second room was on the other side and we had a really pretty view of the lake and monorail, which my daughter loved.

I've requested Conch Key upper floor full balcony unobstructed view on the marina side for our October trip.

Touring plans has a great room view finder map!

You're welcome! Some people really like pool views and for those I believe you want to look at Boca Chica or Big Pine Key. But be careful with Big Pine Key- several rooms have a view of the back of a building. We avoid pool view rooms bc I prefer lots of quiet!

I agree! I prefer not to have a pool view if I have the choice!

Tomorrow...

(MickeuNut..my flop flop wearing in ANY season friend..this has your name all over it!!) ....... :thumbsup2

I'll have to check these out....one can never have too many flip flops!! :goodvibes

Hello, my Grand friends!! :grouphug: Sorry I have been gone so long, I have been very busy with life but really have no good excuse for my extended absence. Just laziness. Wow, things have really changed on the DIS!

I know there are many updates that need to be added/deleted from the first page. I will try to find some time this weekend to get as much done as possible.

Looking forward to getting back in the DIS mood.:rainbow:

Hey there....it's great to "see" you back! No apology needed for being away as we all understand that life sometimes gets in the way. Hope you are able to come back more often as you are missed around here .

Here's another one for the list... I'm not very good with a camera though.

Beautiful pic, I love the rainbow :goodvibes.

I know I sound like a broken record about seeing pictures from the GF, but keep them coming! I love them.

I love them too and I agree, keep em coming :thumbsup2.

Thanks to all for the scooter answers! I just love the pictures that were posted too! Getting really excited about our stay at GF in 22 days! We all really need this trip. My husband has been staying 4 days a week with his 94 year old Dad since last April, so we're really looking forward to the 3 of us being together for a week at the most fabulous resort in the World!

The GF is a great resort for a much needed vacation! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

The next 90 days will go fast and you will be relaxing at the GF before you know it! I'm sorry about the tour, but it sounds like you made the right choice in not booking since they downgraded things a bit. Enjoy the anticipation until your trip :goodvibes.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. I'm glad your mom is able to go along :goodvibes.

My two favorite outer buildings are Big Pine Key and Boca Chica. Both overlook the courtyard pool and are convenient to the main building and beach pool. With that said, the pp is correct that some rooms in BPK have a view of the back of the pool house. Sago and Conch are nice if you want to be close to the buses/boat dock and Gasparillas. The GF isn't as spread out as it seems so while some of the buildings are closer to the main areas than others, none of them are far away. Also, other than the less than desirable views from some rooms in BPK, there really aren't any bad rooms/views at the GF, IMO :).

Hope you are having a great time! :yay:

We're having such a great time so far, I don't know where to begin. My girls have been smiling ear to ear since we arrived. That's all I need to see to enjoy myself. But, thus far, we've been truly blessed every moment of the way.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. If that's true, then I have a lifetime of stories to tell. I'll have to post a few of them when I get a chance. Thank you for asking.

I love hearing things like this...and it even makes me happy when I see other people's kids having fun when we are there:) Happiness is contagious at Disney! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. Have fun!
