Just found at a french canadian site for Disney that there is a rumor that the ride will maybe close after september. KI dont get it...little mermaid isn't one of the latest ride a MK ???

did not read correctly the rumor is about voyage of the little mermaid at HS. OMG.. if that the case..there will be nothing left at HS for my november trip!

I was thinking the same thing! We go in December. Won't even have to spend a full day there now...:confused3

With the Animation Studio closing, I think that will be the first area they work on. Osborne Lights is on, so that part of the park should be safe through the end of the year.

It's likely to happen One Mans Dream is also included in this rumor
I will not miss the Little Mermaid show at DHS, but really hope they will eventually bring One Man's Dream back to that park or another one (I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel the exact opposite). Seems like they should have some sort of tribute to Walt somewhere in the parks. The future at DHS has great potential (particularly given the budget), but it's tough watching them pluck one thing after another from DHS with no official story yet of what will be going in. There may be a massive revolt if D23 doesn't provide at least some specific answers in a couple of weeks.

Surely HS won't lose more things until they finish the new attractions/expansions. The list of things to do in this park for my little ones is dwindling down.

Well...if this closure happens, it just follows along the same line revolving around the rumour that HS is gearing up for some MAJOR reworkings.

Interesting new rumor anyway. They could rework into another type of show based on any of the other properties they have that isn't from the 90s. I can see a rebranding of all the shows at HS to be honest. BandtheB and LittleMermaid both have attractions in other parks to keep guests satisfied.

This one doesn't surprise me. If they're going to do a massive expansion and change, Little Mermaid and One Man's Dream are right in the middle of it. I think they'll be looking to set up an immersive theme where they wouldn't fit.

If this happens before my trip at the end of September, I'm hoping they come up with better temporary attractions than cornhole, etc. Otherwise, I'm very happy to have Park Hoppers anyway.

Can the Disney Junior stage show be far behind? Or maybe that side will stay the same?

So sorry to hear this - we loved the attraction... :(.

I would suggest that WDW just close HS, until such time as they are ready to open a park. Not a complaint - just logistics. If they just shut the poor thing down, work crews have FAR more time to accomplish what the board has decided needs to be done.

With logistics they still won't close the park. They have a solid five rides that still work great and that people want to go to so they'll keep it open.
