Just received a call from Disney today and found out cm's are suppose to be stopping any group from chanting. This has been a huge complaint issue for a while and if chanting or shouting is occurring, any cm is suppose to walk up to the group leader and ask them to stop.

It's been going on for YEARS. I'm with PP... not holding my breath.

Note the wording of OP...

And when they don't?

Who here actually thinks Disney will offend the gigantic cash cow that is the ____________ tour group?

It's nothing a Mickey bar and dole whip can't fix. Then a tall one back at the resort. There are always alternatives to watching young people singing and dancing...

Not even several will help if you are unfortunately staying in the same resort. The parks are a cake walk compared to that nightmare.

1. There is a 20 page thread about how CMs cannot break up fights (which are a real threat to guest safety), and we are supposed to believe that they are going to tightly police singing?

2. Why is Disney calling up people to tell them about chanting and CM's response thereto?

Why did Disney call you? Did you complain recently about this?

I do. A group of 50 is meaningless compared to the thousands of people who attend the park every day and are being offended by the chanting. They aren't going to get pissed off and never come back because they can't chant.

One of the CM's in the park told us the large tour groups now have to sign a waiver about loud chanting and could be asked to leave the park if they violate it. That said, I did not see one CM enforcing it. There was a rude group in front of us at the Festival of The Lion King show in AK. They were very loud and disruptive. Not one CM said anything and looked like they purposefully avoided the group. We waited for them to enter and asked to be seated in a different section. Saw the same behavior in the other parks too. We just tried to avoid them whenever possible.

I know it's easy to say "don't hold your breath" and things like that, but let's not get too helpless and fatalistic. As paying customers, we have rights, too, and one of them is that we don't have to put up with certain groups if their behavior is obnoxious and bothersome. Obviously, Disney is getting the message, because they have institued these new rules. If we keep complaining, they will eventually start to enforce their own rules. Recently, they banned selfie sticks; that took a while, but it happened. Things do change.

CMs are ignoring the chanting tour groups? Why not confront the CMs and tell them, "look, I happen to know that you are supposed to ask them to stop. Please do so."

I haven't gone to the parks in a while but I'm going soon. What's going on with this chanting thing? I can see this is going to be fun.

It's the large tour groups of teens who start singing and chanting. Sometimes at inappropriate times. Once one group does it, another hears and it's like a domino effect sometimes.

It's as difficult to patrol as the inevitable sneaking in of a selfe stick. I can't see a CM wading through a crowd to tell people off!

Oh dear. God. I'm glad I know. I'll have to remember to take an extra happy pill each morning. I tend to speak up when those things happen. lol. Thanks for the heads up!

I've only seen it during the off season, so I can't comment on what it's like now. When you want to relax keep an eye out for the little quiet places they tend not to know about. Then you can avoid the Hub which is where alot of them will meet up and sit.
