Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby's MAGICal 1st Disney Cruise - a May 2015 Trip Report! COMPLETED

I really enjoyed your TR and can't believe it's over...sigh!! :( You have a lovely family and it was so nice that you were able to share such great memories with them! Your niece is absolutely adorable! I can't wait to start reading your WDW TR, I wanted to wait until you were done with this one to start reading it!! See you on the next thread! :darth:

I truly enjoyed reading your TR. We were on the Magic in 2011 for Halloween and had a blast. Booked on the Fantasy for this September and just found out that it is a Halloween cruise too.

Thank you! How fun...a Halloween cruise! Hope you'll share your experience on the Fantasy!

I can't believe it's done already! Thank you so much for your report - it makes me want to take a Disney cruise! :D

I love your wrap-up post of what you'd do/bring again and what you'd change. :goodvibes It's always nice to have those perspectives!

I know! I never thought that I'd like cruising so much but it's mainly because the weather was great and the seas were calm...oh and the fact we were on a Disney ship made all the difference. If we had choppy water and large waves I'm sure this TR would have taken a different spin...let's see how the weather in February is...it could be a night and day experience!

Thanks! I always like to read these things from other people because it gives me a short clear view of what I need/should bring with me.

Just found out that I did take pictures during breakfast at Animator's Palate on our last day so I updated my post! See it here: Disembarkation Day

Thanks for reading everyone!

Read the whole thing and just wanted to say thanks for the great report! :goodvibes Really enjoyed it!

I had gotten over the idea of doing a Disney Cruise (7 in the family so lots of $$$) but now I have got it again after reading your TR.:sad1:

Thank you...I think?!?! :lmao:

LOL, yes it's expensive. And it doesn't actually get that much cheaper the more people you add to a stateroom, unlike a land vacation. But, it was so worth it for me. I'd look into the inside staterooms as they are the cheapest and they fit up to 4 people. I was looking forward to my time at WDW more than the cruise, but next year it's the other way around. I LOVED the cruise and can't wait to be back on a Disney boat! I think part of it is because WDW takes a lot of energy. Half the time we're trying to get to one ADR or FP+ and hauling ourselves on the buses or across the park...it tires us out! Cruises give you all the Disney Magic right there on the ship and it's so relaxing too! Plus...all you can eat...can't beat that!

Warning, this is addictive behavior. They really lock you in with the on board booking discount...so most likely on our next cruise we'll be booking for 2017 or beyond just because it saves a decent chunk of money. :)

Loved your TR!! I especially loved all of your food and character pictures! You inspired me to get off the boat in Nassau. I'm going to have to visit that restaurant for the conch salad :)

Thank you!! Appreciate the kind words! Nassau was pretty fun even though we've been before...the tour took us through different parts of downtown and the food we ate was delicious! Lukka Kairi is really close to the port, so it won't be too far from the ship. If we're ever in Nassau again I'd definitely get off just for that conch salad!

Following along! We also live in NJ and previously lived in NYC where I still work :sunny:

Lissette

Hi Lisette! Thanks for reading! I actually live and work in NJ...I only play in the city now. I do miss it terribly. :lmao:
Are you going to be going on any of the DCL cruises leaving from New York next year? I so desperately want to go but I think 2 DCL cruises in one year is a bit too extravagant, even for me. :cutie:

You and your family were too adorable! Great tri report! I totally agreed with most of what you said! I loved hearing about Nassau. I tend to stay on board there so that I can enjoy the ship. I might get off next time for that tour. Off to read your WDW report. Thanks for sharing!
