Friends and Family Discount

i believe the discounts come out 6 months beforehand, me and the gf are looking to book beach club at the end of feb thru a family cast member and they said it would be towards the end of august.

My friend just checked Monday and F&F discounts can be booked through January at this point as far as we saw.

Does anyone know the current promotion for fall? My dates are September 27-October 4th

My cousin is a new CM and she offered to check, but she doesn't know what to click on once inside the hub? does anyone with experience know what to click on to see the current promotion?

If she is on the Hub all the way to the right near the bottom it says something like WDW resort discounts or reservations....click on that and the first page lists any specific specials and then there is a link to click on to actually check availability and rates for the 40% and 50%. To book any specials you have to call and it gives the phone number

Hi all,

I have a quick question on the logistics of a FF discount. Does the employee have to make the reservation or do they have a code they can give so that who they want to share it with can do the looking and reserving? Also who pays? Does the employee have to pay and then I would reimburse them or can I put it on my credit card?

Thanks for any info.

If I already have a room only reservation with CM discount, can I add a dining plan and tickets without making it a package? Also what if I pay off the room only then purchase a dining paln and tickets once I arrive. Can I do that?

My experience is that the Disney employee needs to make the initial reservation on your behalf, and so they need to have some idea of what you want. Following, you then have a certain window of time to call back and make a deposit using your own credit card. And, once the initial reservation is made, you can make changes to it yourself.

The only way to add tickets and a dining plan is to change to a package and it has to be done before you check in I am pretty sure. If you called and changed it I was told the employee has to do that, but they will refund the deposit for the room only and then charge for the package

Thank you DianeV. You seem pretty knowledgeable with the logistics of the CM discounts. I missed the dates for the Aug promtion of 50% room & discount dining that ran thru August 15th. What are the odds that they will extend that promotion for the rest of August? We literally just missed that. Our dates 8/15-8/25. My nephew is the cast member and he is very busy, so I try to check on my own then inform him if we need to make any changes. I would appreciate any info that you may have:)

Just found out my family has a connection at WDW. I am able to get a Ff discount for December. Is there a way I can check prices my self?

Sort of...you can at least look at the rack rates for the resorts and take 40% off those prices (assuming that is the f&f offer discount) to get an idea what to expect and ask your contact to look for. What you won't know is what resort/room types will be available for your dates, only your employee contact has access to that info.

I just wanted to share my experience because this thread was super helpful!

My CM cousin logged in last night and attempted to book us in an Animal Kingdom Lodge room. The problem we faced was that you could not pay with more then one gift card (I have been collecting gift cards for the deposit) So I was bummed. It was 11pm so she could not call in, and she has to open/close in Hollywood this morning. I told her not to worry about it, I would just book tomorrow with the pass holder discount instead. But then it dawned on me because of something I read in this thread! I asked her to book us any value room as a placeholder and I would call tomorrow to modify! It worked! I just got off the phone, it was no problem at all. She even went through all the hotels that were available for this discount (unfortunately Epcot resorts only had club level available) It took no time at all to switch it to Animal Kingdom Lodge and pay with my remaining gift cards! In about a month i'll call back and check for the Epcot resorts and see if anything opened up closer to our arrival date (September 23rd)

Thanks again for everyones help and advice from this thread!

Does anyone know if the current promotion for 50% off room rate and discounted dining will be extended beyond 8/15/2015?

I'd love to know this as well! Can I just call them and ask if I have an existing reservation?

It depends on the person you get. You should at least be able to check but some wont let anyone but the CM make changes if it affects the rate

I also have found it depends on the CM. We had a FF reservation and I wanted to check for availability at other resorts. I was online so decided to ask on the online chat. CM told me the employee that booked for us needed to call. OK fine. Just for the fun of it my DD called and was able to change our reservation, no problem at all. (Her friend was the one that booked our original res.).

This might be a bit OT:

For CM/ FF reservations, can you link it to MDE and get MB? My friend is a CM in Asia and is looking to get a CM room for the trip but not sure if the ressie is MB eligible so that they could book their FP+ in advance. Thanks for any inputs!
