How many children do you have? How many did you plan on having?

We have 1 DD but can't have our second. Still debating on adoption. I figured I'd ask this question just out of curiosity since we only talk about Disney on this site for the most part.

How many children do you have?
How many did you want to have?
Are you happy with the amount you have if it varies from what you thought you wanted/planned on having?

We have 3.

We never really discussed how many we wanted to have. It just kinda worked out that way.

Very happy, although I wish my wife could have had the daughter she wanted. We have all boys, but luckily all of our grandchildren so far have been girls, so my wife is getting to do the girl thing on a whole different level. :)

We have 4 and wanted 4. Hubby and I are both planners so we talked about it a good bit before we started having kids.

I never really planned a set amount. When we had 2 I thought we were done since we had a girl and a boy and were happy with that. A few years later we decided to have another. I knew I was done after that :)

Wanted two daughters, got two daughters. Both of us grew up with little sisters so we always wanted two little girls. Now we have two big girls. :)

We have 4. 3 girls and 1 boy. We thought we were done at 3 when we finally had our boy. 9 years later #4 came along!! Surprise!!! :teeth:

We've been together since we were teenagers. Neither one of us really wanted kids. Then about 6 years into our marriage we changed our minds. About a year later DS was born.

On his first b-day, we decided we wanted another one and 9 months later another one came along.

About 2 years after that, we decided that we didn't want any more and DH had a vasectomy.

I have 1 from my first marriage. My husband and I always wanted to have 1 or 2 together but after 5+ years of infertility we have come to accept that isn't going to happen. Most days I am fine with it and the older my son gets (he's 12) the easier it is.

This will be our only child. DH and I will be 41 when he's born. It took us 3 1/2 years and LOTS of medical intervention to get him.
We wanted 2 and had 2 embryos transferred in the hope of having twins. One of those embryos split into 3, so we actually ended up with 4 babies at first. Sadly those 3 passed away by the 12-week mark, but this little one survived and thrived.
For us, it's not the amount of children, it's just that we hoped a *bit* more for a boy - and that's what we're getting! Not that we wouldn't have loved a girl; we tried so hard for a baby that we would have been thrilled with a girl as well. But DH was the last boy on his side; his older brother has 2 daughters, and I overheard my MIL once sigh and sadly comment that there were no little boys in the family. So we're very happy and grateful and we're not going to try for any more.

Glad to hear it gets easier!

Glad to hear ivf worked for you but sorry to hear about your three that didn't make it.

Never planned a number, just assumed I have kids someday. I never found the right person however, until 7 years ago. She had no children either, and now it's too late. No regrets, that's life. The only bad thing is the family name ends here.

We have two.

We wanted two.

We took precautions when our second was only a month old to insure that we would not have more.

They are 18 and 16 now and I am still very happy with two--wouldn't change a thing.

I have 6 boys. I don't know if we're done or not. It gets more and more fun as the house fills up. A girl would be nice, but I'm not sure I'd know what to do with one at this point.

DH and I both come from families with two kids so that seemed right to us. We wanted two and have two. Our first is a girl and four years later we had a son.
