Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Closed for Past 2 Days

Here now and it is awful. Worst Hollywood day ever ride wise. Tower is now standby of 200 minutes because RNRC is down And Tower is only running at half capacity. Fast Pass line is a 50 minute wait on Tower.
Yep, I'm here too. Tried to use my 6:40 TOT FP, got in the line then turned around. I've never seen the FP line that long.
RNRC opened back up around 7 so we got on that pretty quickly with our other FP. But TOT was still 200 min wait when we got off!!

Oh no! The park is mad enough when a ride is down (esp. an E-Ticket like RnRC), but with ToT operating at half capacity, that doesn't do the park any favors either! 50 minute wait for FastPass return!!! :O Wow!

50 minutes is a long time to wait for FastPass return! Yes, RnRC re-opened at 7, and then closed again just after 9. It seems as though throughout yesterday it was only operational for 2 hour windows - and then closed again for more than 2 hours each time. Something is still not right with it!!

As a local, a lot of my friends are or were CMs. One of them was in maintenance and said between retirees and so forth, their maintenance dept is less than half of what it used to be. Disney being cheapies, they need to hire some fast. I've seen more closures in the last month than I can ever remember, big ones....

Sorry, I was there all day yesterday and those wait times are not accurate. TOT was a max of 75 mins, and star tours was a max of 60 mins. I do agree the DHS is not a good park right now, and not worth paying for a full day admission but the Times that you posted were not accurate of what was really going on yesterday.
Those were the wait times when we tried to ride!

Those were the wait times when we tried to ride! If they were less when you rode, great for you. I only know what I saw! Also just for you info., Star Tours stated a 20 min. wait at 9:30 a.m. and we waited over 45 mins. Had a 12:30 FP for Toy Story and waited in DP line for over 30 mins. Stand by went from 90 mins to 140 mins by the time we got off ride. Looked at MDE and ToT stated 120 at that time. Rode Star Tours again around 3 and it stated 60 mins, waited over 90!

Why am I not surprised! Disney used to be at the forefront of theme parks, although recently they have been slipping. A lot of downtime of big attractions recently, and no new announcements really (apart from Avatar, Frozen etc.). Universal has announced a lot of big things this past week (Kong, Volcano Bay, Nintendo) and has a lot already under construction. Disney really needs to up their game now. And Disney has been closing a lot recently too - with no announced replacements.

I had MDE up on my phone at points on that day - and can confirm the wait times got to what you said kelleebutler. Those were the posted wait times Wait times that day were mucked up too - posted lower than they actually were. Wait times change a lot throughout the day, so you could both have been right, but visited at different times in the day.

Even SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are adding more major rides. If Pandora is a stupid simulator, I'm going to be super dupe disappointed. I want a flipping swirling banshee ride, not a screen. (Something like Manta would be perfect.) Of course, if they did make one like that, it would probably also be down for days. :(

Yes - SeaWorld and Busch Gardens attractions are pretty big, and quite exciting new additions coming to the area! I think Pandora is going to be great, the concept art looks like it'll be a well themed area with some brilliant new technologies. The rides for the area are set to be; a Soarin' type attraction where guests can ride the Banshees, and a boat ride (opening later after the opening of the land). It'll be a screen ride, but Disney really does need a new rollercoaster or something similar - why couldn't they do something like Wizarding World Hogsmead did - screen ride (Forbidden Journey) and rollercoasters (Dragon Challenge and Hippogriff). Manta type ride would fit really well with Banshee/Avatar theme. That is true, Disney can't seem to keep a ride like that fully operational (EE comes to mind with disco yeti!!).

RnRC operational this morning - how long will it stay online for today?!

Edit 9:36 - Attraction has closed again. Knew it wouldn't last long!

@WDWFantasmicFan They are definitely doing their part (BG/SW) to keep us on their AP list for next year. I think I'm having a tough time getting anything to compete with BG as a favorite of mine right now. It's just super special to be SO CLOSE to the Cheetahs and Tigers (and they are very fun and social, not just way off in the distance) and then go ride Cheetah Hunt. And as for Falcon's, don't even get me started! :scared1:

Anyway, I know Kumba was down for welding (at least they are doing maintenance) and one day, Falcon was down too, so I know it happens. But give me Sheikra every single day of the week over Soarin!!!!! I still like the big screen simulators, but they need both. A boat ride and a screen is extremely disappointing for all that Pandora has to offer. I'm loving my WDW AP but even today, looking over what FPs I want to get, it's already starting to be a bit of the same old. If only BG and SW had a reservations system! LOL. Worst part about BG is that its so far. :( Its no wonder that AK says its not trying to be another BG, cuz its not even close. Its funny too how WDW people tend to poopoo BG. I think Tampa locals and BG are JUST fine with that, because they like to keep their awesome rollercoaster safari park (at least their safari you can walk around and spend as much time on the savanah as you like) to themselves! BIggest draw backs on SW/BG is that they just don't stay open as long, so it makes it harder to get over there on a weekday vs Disney.

HS has always been our favorite park in Orlando, but its starting to get wedged out because now that we have more time and passes, the other parks just have more rides, and at the end of the day, we are ride people. Sure, I'll watch the SWW shows (because I'm not standing in the lines to meet those guys, but I like to see them on the stage) but day in and day out, RnRc, ToT, and ST are what we consider the HS "big 3". Take RnR out of the equation, and even MK starts to look better! (although SP Mt was down for almost several days a few weeks ago too. On a neat side point, TTA went down while we were on SM last week, and half the lights were on in SM, just enough to see the track. I LOVED IT! I've ridden it enough in the dark, so this was great, because I could actually brace myself for what was coming instead of slamming in to the lap bar... it was a bit like RnRC, mostly dark, but just enough to see the track.) Case in point, more rides breaking down though. I haven't seen the TTA broken down prior to that, but when SM breaks down, they also close TTA. That was our experience once.

Yes - BG and SW are adding great new additions, they both have their good and bad points though. Haven't been to BG for a while, so don't remember much of that. Everyone should expect attractions, at any park, to go down occasionally for maintenance and safety - the parks have a responsibility to ensure the rides are safe for people to ride. Soarin' is a good attraction though - just not so much for thrill seekers! Simulators AND rollercoasters AND dark rides would be nice. Pandora better offer more than just 2 rides - it'll be nothing compared to Kong or Volcano Bay or SW/BG rides if its nothing more. BG is quite far from Disney area, so I agree, travelling is a pain :( AK can't beat BG if they don't start putting in thrill rides and other experiences. AK is good, but again not for thrill seekers.

HS is going downhill rapidly, with all the closures earlier this year - with no named replacements so far. I think Disney has something big up their sleeve, I reckon it'll all be announced at D23 in August. SWW is fantastic - love this time of year! RnRC closed creates horrible crowds in that park, and huge queues on the other big rides (ToT and ST). I didn't see Space Mountain down a few weeks ago - seems to be fully operational now. Being on TTA when Space Mountain is down is great - especially when people are stopped on the ride and are waving down to TTA!!! I have also seen that TTA closes when SM is closed - I suppose its to stop the magic from being ruined, and the inside of SM is not themed due to its dark nature.

@WDWFantasmicFan
AK is no where near 'beating' BG at this point, and actually, it may never have been. BG is very profitable right now, everything is clean and fresh painted and kept up. To be honest, their Iceploration show to me was the show FotLK WISHES it was. The only contest is that we chose to live closer to WDW so now we have I-4 to deal with, and there is no guaranteed FP system (although if we upgraded AP, we could get quick cue and possibly even reride.)

I still can't figure out what to book out of the 4 parks today. (Sigh) I just keep looking at the same options. AK is hot, EP is just ok (there a week ago), HS is a mess (there on Sat and back again for SWW next Sat) and MK takes so long to get back from with the ticket center and 7D is sold out.
