***The Official April 2016 Thread!***

we will be back also in April 2016! We just got back saturday from our 9 day trip... post disney blues going on now. We probably will stay at a value, deciding between POP or ASMO which we have stayed at both. We have been going in april for years now. Happy planning to all!

Oh also we fly out of BDL, and this year we paid 1,300 for 4 of us on Jetblue nonstop flights. next year we are looking at 15-22nd.

Welcome! I'll add your dates up!

First Disney trip for my husband and daughter. April 9-16. I haven't been in 10 years!! I am so excited :)

Welcome to the thread Joyce :) Guessing you saw my disboards suggestion. It's so much fun planning!

Hi momwith2boys! Welcome! How funny that all of us are from New England. Where in western mass? I am in Chicopee.

Feed some excitement our way-tell us about your trip! How was it? How were the crowds? What wonderful things did you do? We need details to hold us over!

thanks :) she is 5 now, she will be almost 6 1/2 at the time we go
Great age for disney! The last time we visited my oldest was 6, and she remembers every detail of her meeting with rapunzel. She will love it!

I am in Ludlow!!! HI neighbor!! we have been going to disney for many years now. I started out going with my parents in 1985, went again in 90 during college with parents then again in 91' on spring break with my roommate. Our honeymoon in 97' was in may. after that we went every year since! Our boys have been going since oldest was 10 months old. We used to do first week of may until Max started middle school then we switched over to April school vacation. The weather is beautiful! Esp after the crappy winter! We always do rope drope and the crowds have been super. we have a early lunch then usually head back to the resort. getting out of the parks between 1-4 is key. if you do stay for the MK 3pm parade that is worth it once during the trip. that parade is awesome!!!! We always stay onsite, we either stay value or rent points at a DVC studio. we were at BWV this time and enjoyed watching illuminations from the balcony. any more questions just ask!!!!!

How funny. My husband owns a business in ludlow and is from there!

How were the crowds? I know our children are different ages and likely into really different things....I'm sure we will spend a good chunk of our time in line to meet princesses! I've read that April is better then February as far as crowds....since you go every April you must feel ok about the crowds, right?

I bet then I must know him! too funny!!! my kids have been going since babies so we still repeat lots of family favorites for sure. the crowds have been very very good in april! just be at parks at opening and leave after an early lunch. it feels more congested between 1-3pm. but tolerable if you need to stay to see stuff. just plan easier stuff after lunch. This coming trip will be our last as a family of 4. Older son will graduate then be off to college, so we will continue in april with younger son. How did this happen so fast? His first trip was at 10 months old...oh off to cry! He is at Prom now.

Hi Jenny! I'm also from MA, considering April vacation. As you've been doing that trip for awhile, how is airfare during that time? Do you have an approach to finding decent fares? My kids will be 7, 4, and 1, so I'm still considering just going first week of May like we did in 2014!

We book our airfare the exact day it releases... and have got decent air the past 5 years! Last april we flew out of BDL for 1,340 on the friday and coming back on the following sat. the year before we flew out of Worcester as it was about 300 less. this year BDL was much cheaper and worc was more $$$ and takes an hour to get to vs the 35 min to Bradley for us. I used to pull my 2 out for the first week of may until oldest started 6th grade, then we opted for april and honestly the crowds and weather were no different. We love not having 2 kids stressed about what they are missing. It is just worth our peace of mind. Now this april will be our last before oldest graduates from high school, we will continue april until youngest graduates too.

also we book the friday before the vacation because for us its usually an early release day so they miss 1 day of school. the air was cheaper fri compared to leaving sat

Thanks for the tips! I'm close to Framingham, so Boston and Providence are usually my two airports. I never considered Worcester... I'll keep that in mind!
How do you know when airfare is released?
