and I feel so much better! I got it thru Travel Insured, got it to cover my whole trip, not just cruise!
Being it will be end of Sept and Hurricance season....I feel so much better! I'd hate to spend all that I have...
And have weather or anything hamper it!... 175 trips to Disney, not once bought insurance....but for some reason with this cruise, I could not sleep knowing I did not have it! Hope I made right choice!

Honesty, I need to thank you all...because I would not have given it a second thought! So thank you for the idea!

We bought it just for the medical coverage. Did you get a comprehensive plan? We paid such a small amount for the coverage, I figured we're spending how much on this cruise? What's another $100 ?

I think the OP said it best... 175 trips to Disney and no insurance.

(1) Going to WDW and going on a cruise- completely different, things on the cruise, are far more risky, in WDW your not in the middle of the sea and you are near medical facilities and near hospitals and paramedics.

(2) If you choose not to buy insurance thats your choice, get everyone in the family to sign for that, they all agree it, as if and when an issue occurs, it can split a family up, when theres upset someone stiffed a few $$$, as that was more important than someones life. At least if an issue occurs you can say to them you also agreed to save a few bucks!!!

If you go in 'eyes open' choose not to insure your loved ones, fine thats your choice, sensible seasoned cruisers will know the value of it and readers here near to know insurance is 100% required.

I assume you insure your car and insure your home, but clearly there more important than a few $$$ to pay to look after your family.

I have had 11 DCL cruises, all insured, used it ever, only once a small issue, but do I see value, YES, and my next cruise is insured.

I feel like that's comparing apples and oranges. If you get very sick or injured and need medical attention at WDW, you can just go to the nearest hospital. If the same happens on a cruise, you might need a MediVac. Also, there is the added worry of getting stuck in a port by accident or missing the boat entirely if something unexpectedly delays you on departure day. These are concerns you wouldn't really have at WDW.

But a cruise is vastly different from a land based vacation. If you miss a bus at WDW, it's a short wait for the next one. If you miss the ship at a port, you have to find a way to catch up to the ship. Last minute plane tickets are very expensive. If you have a serious medical issue at WDW, there are hospitals nearby. If you have a serious medical issue on the ship, it's a very expensive med-evac.

Agree.

Next I assume its "TIPs are too much therefore I do not have to pay those either."

WDW, most go there on land, maybe drive, and you go on safe tested rides and on safe coaches, and eat normal standard food.

Cruise, out at sea, eat more than normal, eat in foreign ports, drink far more than normal, out at sea so water and may slip over, cruise come in late, miss the boat, someone ill at sea, need to fly off, or fly home. Do more risky things, Jet ski, Zip line, climb things, fall over. Then there is the weather, hurricanes ships avoiding storms getting back late. Etc etc

I was thinking....stuck in hurricane or very bad weather in a port that I have no clue about. I've been
At Disney in a hurricane, and I have friends all over the place there...l not in Mexico, or out to sea. I just feel much more at ease, in a scale of things, what's $200 bucks on a $10 thousand dollar trip that could get canceled due to weather?= priceless

Right....that was Disney. Hence getting it on a cruise, more can go so wrong

I buy insurance for cruises because they are un-refundable if you have to cancel last minute. I would never buy it on a vacation like WDW that is completely refundable if you cancel have to cancel last minute. It's also good to have the added medical protection. Enjoy your cruise.
