OK... I figured out my WDW trip budget. I figured I have around an extra $500 I can use towards my trip. So, with that said.....

As of now I am booked with Pop Century (9 nights), with FREE counter service (buy back from my last trip). So, stay at POP and I can upgrade to a Regular Dinning Plan, and add an extra night of stay (~$465), OR try to reserve a room at a moderate resort for the 9 nights, and WDW would automatically upgrade me to the Regular Dinning Plan (but would not stay the extra night ~$500?). OR go with my original plan and pocket the $500???

So what would you do?????

Every time we went before we were DVC I would always have the question of more time vs nicer resort. If you are saying that 10 nights at Pop with the upgrade to the regular DDP is the same as 9 nights at a moderate with the DDP, I'd do the mod without question.

For the length of your stay, I would go with the moderate just for a little more comfort but...9 days of counter service might be a bit much. The upgrade to the regular dining plan and some TS meals would probably make for a nicer trip.

I'd either add another day, or set it aside as a deposit on the bounceback offer I'll probably be booking during that trip :)

So what would you do?????
At first I was going to vote Pop+1 nite.... but then I see you're there for 9 days- go Mod and have a blast!!!! then you can spend time enjoying some extra resort time

Already planned 9 nights? I don't think I'd add another night at Pop. I would, however, be tempted to upgrade to a mod. But I have to say that I'd also be tempted to keep that $500 for a future trip.

I'd go to the nearest casino and turn the 500 into 1000. Then I'd upgrade to a mod and pocket the other 500.

Of course I've been told I have a minor problem with bj so you probably aren't the degenerate gambler I am.

That is a though one! I am a fan of the Pop so I would probably stay the extra night with the DDP upgrade. Not a huge fan of the mods, now if it was upgrading to a deluxe then I would upgrade - staying close to the parks would be so nice! But having the $500 already saved for another trip (to Disney or elsewhere) would be nice as well.

Stay longer and upgrade to the DDP would be my first choice. Saving the money would be my second. Or maybe use the money for TS meals during what you already have booked. That way it is not all CS for 9 days.

My thinking process - the extra night would be about $100.

So that means upgrading to 10 TS meals (say an average TS is $30 pp and an average QS is $10 pp - so worth an extra $20 pp). If there are 2 of you, that's an extra "value" of $400. Which is what you are paying. If there are 4 of you, your extra "value" is $800.

Does that help?

$500 is a fair bit of money - My budget weekend trips (other destinations) are typically $300 or so for a family of 4.

If It was me, I would go with the orignal plan, but call and make two downpayemts on two upcoming vacations - that still leaves 100.00 left over or put 250 down on each vacation.

If $500 is really the only "extra" money you have, I'd say you should pocket it.

No its NOT the ONLY extra money I have... I just like to stick to a budget... and after redoing my budget... I can add an extra $500 to the trip (without any worries).

There are only two of us ($500 is an average) and after calling WDW (it was like $300 to upgrade to a DDP, and $165 for the extra day)... as of now they said no Mod-Resorts have any rooms for my bounce-back offer, so that may be a mute point (Buy I'll keep calling/trying) and that was around $500+).

But the kicker is.... the extra night would be EMH for MK, and I'll get to stay late (I like to end my trips with MK).

BUT again, as I'm thinking... I think I would at least upgrade to the DDP ($300)... and eat at two/three signature places (2-points)????

I still have a few months to get it all together... the bulk of the planning is done... just looking for some advice.

Thankss
