Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Nah, you are fine. I am book already because I will be going no matter what. A lot of us the discount would be an added bonus but it's not a necessity.
Its not a necessity for us either, but we may do something other than Disney again this year like a cruise. I just love the FD it is such a great savings for us when we go, it is an awesome promo! I bet it wont last forever! I just hate losing the options of our favorite moderates because I did wait to book since I am still on the fence about the trip. First world problems, no real life altering decisions here!

Haha! Totally first world problems. We have never done free dining or the dining plan in general, we are campers and get no discounts. So it's a total perk. I am losing no sleep over it but enjoying the discussion and anticipation.

All I have to say is wow! I cant believe I have been able to keep up with this thread the past few days, it has been crazy!! I feel like a normal person on here, everyone at works thinks my Disney obsession is ridiculous, but they just don't understand :confused3

But I just wanted to stop in and wish everyone luck, and hope you are able to get the dates and resorts you want! I already booked bc I wanted to have the reservation before I could make my ADR's. So we will go regardless, but I am hoping to be able to modify online tomorrow so I can relax a little :)

My family seriously spent the entire day watching youtube videos of Disney yesterday, the kids are so excited, and so am I!! :D

My co-worker and I get a lot of flack too! I will say that before I went I didn't really understand it either, I thought I would go once and not need to return, just get it out of my system....HA HA! We are safe with our obsessions here! :disrocks:

I also have not booked yet, so don't feel alone kingd4066. It is good to not book unless you are going no matter what. People booking in anticipation of the discount, who will only go with the discount, are just potentially hurting their chances by Disney changing the offer. Availability is a fickle thing with Disney the past few years.
We are going no matter what but want FD, so our dates are flexible to fit the offer, so waiting to book.
Im in a similar boat. We are going no matter what and are dates are slightly flexible as is our resort level, mod or deluxe, and we are also waiting in hopes of not decreasing the availability

Im in the same boat (or should I say, Im on the same monorail!!). I booked my upcoming trip last October. I planned my parks and dining reservations by December. I was talking about it to coworkers early December and was asked several times if I was going to Disney over Christmas break. When I replied No, September 2015, I got the oddest looks..and a few laughs! They just dont get it!

If you have added the dining plan to your reservation, you do not have to prepay or credit card hold any meals. I just did it a few weeks ago. Im going to CRT, SoA, BBQ, and PS/Akershaus and many other CC hold places.

Im lucky, my co-workers totally get it. it took 6 months of explaining but now they totally get it.

Haha yeah I have dealt with it for years!! But I just tell you them you either get it or you don't, and most don't! I will be driving them crazy for the next 4 months lol :)

Not sure this is correct. Pretty sure you still have to prepay, but when you get to CRT, tell your server you want to use your dining credits. They will then reimburse your credit card.
No you do not prepay if you have a CC on file with MDE and you have DP. I know this because I have a reservation For CRT in Sept. And I did not prepay- dinner for 3 adults

Same here - I have the dining plan on my ressie, I booked Hoop Dee Doo and I did not have to prepay.

So if PHs DO end up being required and it ends up making more sense just to book a regular package with no free dining plan, do they also release other fall discounts when they release free dining too-like 30% off deluxes, 15% off values etc? Will they release ALL fall discounts when/if free dining is released?

I was wondering the same thing. We could probably eat cheaper than the dining plan would cost if we just make reservations at our favorite TS restaurants and fill in with counter service. So if PH is required, we may be better off paying OOP for meals and looking for a room discount. Does anyone know about RO discounts and when they are released?

Sorry if his is a dumb question...but do TAs have a separate number they can call? I have always booked on my own before but I'm using a TA this time and I'm wondering if she will have to deal with three hour waits on hold...or can they do everything online?

Just stressing a little because I usually take care of things on my own and I am not sure I like not having control.

This is why I haven't broken down and booked through one. I have three people in my immediate area that I know are Disney TAs and would love to give them the commission on something I would be paying for anyway, but I am a control freak and can not give up control. :(
