Disney Fantasy Cruise February 20, 2016

Is anyone else shocked how much the cost of this cruise has gone up in the recent weeks? Had I booked this week... I would have had to pay $1200 more.
And when did the prices increase?? I booked in February, so did I pay the higher price or did it go up after that? Just curious and how do you find out....like I said I'm new to all this so any help would be appreciated :)

Hi, this is our very first DCL cruise, we are super excited, as of right now it will be myself Summer (38), DS Cristian (12 going on 13 that week), if anyone else joins I will keep you posted. This is a birthday surprise for my son and it is going to be so hard for me to keep this secret for so long...lol...my sons birthday is the day after we come back (FEB 28) but we are celebrating on the cruise, he loves Star Wars as do I. So we would love to be included in the FE and I am definately interested in the Mixology and Meet and Greet :) our cabin #7186

I'm so excited about this cruise the wait is torture and I tortured myself more by keeping this a secret from my son. I plan on going down a few days before and go to a park or two and act like we are going home on saturday, but the bus will bring us to the port :))))

Do you already have passports? I was going to try and keep the trip a surprise for my son as well (will be 17). But, finding a reason why we need a passport has been a challenge. Maybe I'll just say we may travel abroad some day and this is a good time to get them. :)

My vote is for 10 or 15. Definitely less is better - both to bring, deliver, and bring back. I also would suggest setting a cutoff deadline for sign ups. Our last cruise we had tons of people wanting to join the week before. It's too tough to plan and shop otherwise.
I agree with the sign-up deadline. As for the number of FE's... I'll go with the cruise and FE veterans as this is my first.

I am not quite sure what a DM or DH is (Disney Mom, Disney Husband??) so I will just stick with the long form.

Greetings fellow Earthlings! My son and I will be going on our very first cruise ever along with you. Many have said this cruise will spoil us and put other cruise line experiences to shame. But, what better way to launch my son into near-adulthood!
:sail::car:

Some bio information at the time of the cruise: Russ (Father - 50 - December baby); Jephrey (Son - 17 - October baby). Yes, that is a unique way of spelling my son's name. It's a bit of a story and you're welcome to ask. We are both drummers and I also sing (while drumming) in the worship band at my church.
:rockband:

My son and I are both a bit geeky which is why this cruise is PERFECT for us! I look forward to meeting everyone on the cruise and getting to know you a bit better over the coming months

Disney for under age children only require an original birth certificate. Passport is not necessary :) so you can keep it a secret

Thanks! My ex and I have hatched a plan. So, we'll probably get him one anyway. Did I guess correctly on DM and DH?

Yep! DH = Dear Husband, DW = Dear Wife, DS = Dear Son, DS17 = Dear Son who is 17 years of age, DD = Dear Daughter, DF = usually means Dear Fiance. I'm actually not sure about DM though, I suppose it probably could mean Dear Mother.

Hello all! Wanted to start this thread for our next cruise, the Disney Fantasy February 20, 2016. Join in and let's talk!

Hello all, 1st Disney Cruise is now booked. :flower:We are on deck 6. It'll be me (Cathy) and my boyfriend (David) we'll both be 45 and my DD (Crystal - 16). Not sure how this is all done... incredibly nervous AND excited! We would like to be a part of the FE and I would like to do the Mixology, but my BF doesn't drink. Would love advice and tips. Coming from California to Florida for the first time ever.:butterfly

OK, I have to confess we pulled a totally great (to us) April Fool's joke on our son (age 10) about the cruise. We had booked this trip last fall, before the Star Wars info came out. He knows we have a cruise booked, approximately when, and what our ports are. We decided to keep the Star Wars part a secret from him - we never really get to surprise him on much - he's too quick to pick up on clues.:darth:

On April 1 we told him I got an e-mail from Disney about the cruise, and that there would be a Star Wars day on board. We told him all about the activities, character meets, etc… He was going on and on about how excited he was for the upcoming cruise. So we asked him what day it was. The sad expression on his face when he said "April 1" was priceless.

So now he thinks we punked him about the Star Wars day on the cruise. I can't wait to see how happy/angry/excited he is when he finds out we were really telling him the truth!:rolleyes1

I got off the ship on feb 14 - I believe they went up right after that. but they have been going up and down with each week.
