Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

Wow! Best thread Ever. I totally wish I was at home with my old photos... and now I have to Matte and frame an old map (brilliant idea!)

I so resent not having seen Horizons. It looked awesome. Thanks for sharing everyone.

The pink, gritty, powdered soap in the restrooms.

I'm pretty sure they got rid of this because of my brother and I. We would pile that stuff high on our hands and cause the sinks to overflow with suds. Sorry..we were young!!

Welcome to the DISboards!

Always glad to see a new member on the boards. If you catch up with your old photos we would love to see them. Hope you find other fun and good to know information on the DIS.

And a "Thank You" to all those who have shared their memories! Thanks. It would not be this wonderful without your contributions.

Does anyone remember the pink castle? Can't remember what year i took this picture!
My first time going to Disney World was during the 25th anniversary and when the castle was a cake. I was really young but I didn't mind it as a cake. We went the following year and it looked just like your picture. It was so UGLY! In honor of this, I have ranked (from worst to best) the different variations of the castle I have seen over my many trips to Disney World.

4. Pink castle - 'nuff said (obviously unintended to look that way)
3. Cake castle - Sort of cool for a short time but glad it's gone.
2. Happiest celebration on earth castle - To celebrate 50 years of Disney parks, they had it decked out in gold with characters from the many movies. Someone posted a picture in this thread. I thought it looked great!
1. Christmas castle - The Christmas lights look incredible on the castle! I remember going over NYE 2014 and couldn't believe how amazing it looked! Pictures don't do it justice!

I left it off but nothing beats the castle in its original, timeless form! I think every time I go I appreciate the castle more and more. Can't wait to go back!
