No Trips in 2015 turns into 3 Trips in 2015--Update 4/24/15 -- Page 31

Full day at MK is the best.
I’m thinking of making an ADR at the Poly for our next trip, never had a meal there. I can’t decide between dinner at Ohana or breakfast at Kona! I want to surprise my family, but because of picky eaters, I may have to show them the menu.

Wha....?!!! OH man I wish school was out sooner!! Dang it!! Even if I wasn't done this year with the program, I won't be done until June this year. BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Our paths will cross at some point...I'm sure of it.

Sounds like the recipe for a perfect day!!! :cloud9: I'm quite tempted to try Kona myself as I've never been! However, I already have two ADRs lined up and it's just me this trip so I'm not sure if I'll decide to try for Kona or not... I'll have to see how my FP+s work out next week and see if I want to try to get over to this much acclaimed spot!

Kona is a little easier to get into. So if you are thinking you really need a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast, Kona is the place to be.

Speaking of... excellent FP+s that you have lined up for that day! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Tracy.

Looks like a great MK day! I don't think I have ever eaten at Kona or the Plaza (in WDW). We are still in the phase of life where any breakfast must have characters. Someday, that won't be required and I will get to try other places. We ate at the Plaza in DL this summer and it was fantastic! I wonder how similar or different they are.

I can understand those must-do character breakfasts (we still do one every trip :) ). I hope some day you get a chance to go to Kona. I've never been to DL so don't know if there is any similarity or not. The Plaza at DW consists mostly of soup, salads, sandwiches and ice cream.

Hi Kathy!

:wave2: good to see you; hope school is going well.

I love Sci-Fi, we used to go there all the time when I was growing up. I haven't been there in so long though. But I'm so excited to hear about your experience at Trattoria al Forno. We went to Kouzzina when it was open and loved it so it should be interesting to see how Trattoria is.
I'm so jealous you'll be there for F&G, I've been to F&W but I've always wanted to see all of the amazing garden displays and topiaries.
We love love love Kona!! Best coffee, and fantastic breakfast and it's always a good excuse to go to the Poly.
I'm sure you and Mary will have a great time spending a full day at MK!

Sci Fi has actually been cancelled (more on that later in the TR). But I do like it there and will be back. I'm very excited for dinner and breakfast at Trattoria and promise a thorough review. I agree with you on Kona...the BEST coffee and I love an excuse to go to the Poly (although I'm not sure how I'll feel with all of these changes).

We love Kona breakfast and they have a really good dinner too. I have say that after all the hype, we were not fans of the dinner at Ohana at all and it will be a long time, if at all, we go back.

Perfect MK Fastpass choices! I just love all three of those rides.

Kona cafe sounds delicious for breakfast. I've never been, but I'm thinking of adding it to our list for our November trip.

I'm so fed up with not getting email notifications!!

I'm just going to say I'm caught back up. Your plans looks fantastic.

Me too!

Kona cafe sounds delicious for breakfast. I've never been, but I'm thinking of adding it to our list for our November trip.

It's terrific...and a nice change of pace from the buffets at breakfast.

I'm so fed up with not getting email notifications!!

It's hard to get used to, but I'm getting there.

I'm just going to say I'm caught back up. Your plans looks fantastic.

Thanks, Jill.

Glenn said it best - Holy Moly I am impossibly behind!

Day 5 sounds great. I can't believe how many trips you actually have planned for this year. You are worse than me! I promise I will try to catch up sometime this century!

Hi Kathy - I finally made it...

Again - I want to apologize for falling so behind on your TR/PTRs... I don't think I"ll be able to go back to where I left off, but I will pick up from here.

From your intro:

I loved reading your intro post... You have a beautiful family and friends. I am really looking forward to hearing about your plans for this trip.

From update 2:

MK is always a great place to start - IMO... Necessary actually. And an early ADR for CP... As you know - that's always a must-do for us too. One of our favorite breakfasts!

And heading to HS in the afternoon... I think it's good you may save your FPs for there... Otherwise it may not be very easy to snag a short wait on TSM - but we all know this. LOL And Starring Rolls - YUM!!! We didn't make it there this last trip, and I do miss it. SOunds like you have a great evening planned for HS.

From update #3:

I love your relationship with Nicki and Todd... It's such a special one! Dis friends are the absolute best!

Hmmm... Not sure where this is -----> Trattoria al Forno... I think I need to go google?

Starbucks and Epcot sounds very nice... I need to try that. I am hoping with one of my next trips, a nice relaxing morning is included - it seems that we are always running out the door to beat the crowds. I'd love to experience Disney at a much more liesurely pace. ::yes::

:woohoo: for shopping at DTD... I love going there, especially now that they have the Co-Op... It's a very bad financial decision for me to go there, but I just love it!

We have never done Splitsville... We aren't very good bowlers.

And closing out your evening at MK with a BoG dinner reservation sounds perfect! And a SDMT FP doesn't hurt either. :)

From update #4:

Soarin is always my first stop in Epcot too... Once I have that done, I am happy to just walk around and enjoy my day.

I know SSE has a very soft spot in your heart... but that backwards portion always sends the girls and I into tears - so I avoid it when I can.

Sad that Nicki and Todd are leaving... but fun that your friend from work is meeting up with you. Have you ever done a trip with her?

We have never eating at CR... It's on my to-do list some day... Along with staying at Boardwalk. ::yes:: It looks like such a beautiful resort. Have you ever stayed there before?

Drinks by the pool sounds lovely. :lovestruc

From update #5:

OK - I am very excited for your breakfast ADR at Kona... This is a restaurant I have always wanted to eat at, and never have... The girls always overrule me for 'Ohana. I get to eat a meal here for the first time with Suzi and Bradey and I cannot wait for this one. Can you tell I am a little over excited about it? LOL

Yay for MK again and my 3 top FP picks... In the proper order too. ::yes:: Splash, BTMRR and SDMT. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

OOoh and your dinner sounds great too... We have never eaten there, but I hope to one day - it's always on my list, but sadly we have so many MK favorites, I am not sure I will ever get to eat there?

I hope you are able to accomplish everything you want to on this day.

Phew!!! Well, at least I am caught up here now. LOL Your plans are getting me excited for our next trips! I cannot wait to hear how the remainder of this trip is going to play out and all about your other two trips as well.

D~

We love Kona breakfast and they have a really good dinner too. I have say that after all the hype, we were not fans of the dinner at Ohana at all and it will be a long time, if at all, we go back.
So you need to tell the world who PUSHED you to goto Kona... go ahead, scream it from the mountaintops... we are all waiting! :rolleyes1

Glenn said it best - Holy Moly I am impossibly behind!

You have a good excuse...you were running through a castle. :)

Day 5 sounds great. I can't believe how many trips you actually have planned for this year. You are worse than me! I promise I will try to catch up sometime this century!

I can't either to tell you the truth. And I still can't get in all my ADR's that I want.

Subbing will go back and read

Good to have you here, Rosie.

Hi Kathy - I finally made it...

D, I am happy that you are here. :goodvibes

Again - I want to apologize for falling so behind on your TR/PTRs... I don't think I"ll be able to go back to where I left off, but I will pick up from here.

It really is okay.

Thank you so much.

From update 2:

MK is always a great place to start - IMO... Necessary actually. And an early ADR for CP... As you know - that's always a must-do for us too. One of our favorite breakfasts!

Actually, we start at Epcot on our arrival day and MK is our second day. CP is the best and I'm so glad you and the girls do it too.

When I get to that point, we have totally deleted the Studios. :faint:

From update #3:

I love your relationship with Nicki and Todd... It's such a special one! Dis friends are the absolute best!

They have become more family to us than some of our own family members. Love them! And I am in 100% agreement with you...DIS friends are the best.

Hmmm... Not sure where this is -----> Trattoria al Forno... I think I need to go google?

It's the new Italian restaurant on the Boardwalk that took over Kouzzina.

Starbucks and Epcot sounds very nice... I need to try that. I am hoping with one of my next trips, a nice relaxing morning is included - it seems that we are always running out the door to beat the crowds. I'd love to experience Disney at a much more liesurely pace. ::yes::

At my age, a more leisurely pace is best.

:woohoo: for shopping at DTD... I love going there, especially now that they have the Co-Op... It's a very bad financial decision for me to go there, but I just love it!

I just hope more of the walls are gone now.

We have never done Splitsville... We aren't very good bowlers.

We used to bowl in a league. Doesn't mean I'm good, but I enjoy it.

And closing out your evening at MK with a BoG dinner reservation sounds perfect! And a SDMT FP doesn't hurt either. :)

I really like BOG, and I love the Mine Ride.

From update #4:

Soarin is always my first stop in Epcot too... Once I have that done, I am happy to just walk around and enjoy my day.

I'm with you on that too.

I know SSE has a very soft spot in your heart... but that backwards portion always sends the girls and I into tears - so I avoid it when I can.

Yes it does. I mentioned to Nicki that day will be what would have been my dad's 89th birthday so it will be a bit emotional.

Sad that Nicki and Todd are leaving... but fun that your friend from work is meeting up with you. Have you ever done a trip with her?

I've never done a trip with Mary, but we've known each other over 15 years.

We have never eating at CR... It's on my to-do list some day... Along with staying at Boardwalk. ::yes:: It looks like such a beautiful resort. Have you ever stayed there before?

The food's not bad, and I love the atmosphere. I really think you should look into renting points one of your trips (often cheaper than a moderate). Yes, we stayed at the Boardwalk in December 2013 and again on our split stay this past September.

Drinks by the pool sounds lovely. :lovestruc

Nothing more relaxing than a drink at the pool.

From update #5:

I get to eat a meal here for the first time with Suzi and Bradey and I cannot wait for this one. Can you tell I am a little over excited about it? LOL

:yay: I'm glad you are trying Kona. It is our favorite breakfast (after CP of course). We've not done Ohana because I don't eat scrambled eggs so it would be a waste for me.

Yay for MK again and my 3 top FP picks... In the proper order too. ::yes:: Splash, BTMRR and SDMT. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

I think so too.

OOoh and your dinner sounds great too... We have never eaten there, but I hope to one day - it's always on my list, but sadly we have so many MK favorites, I am not sure I will ever get to eat there?

It's always Mark's and my last meal on our trips. It's just a nice change of pace after all the heavy meals we eat. I don't like Tony's and will only do Liberty Tree for lunch so this always wins out.

I hope you are able to accomplish everything you want to on this day.

I think we will be.

Phew!!! Well, at least I am caught up here now. LOL Your plans are getting me excited for our next trips! I cannot wait to hear how the remainder of this trip is going to play out and all about your other two trips as well.

D~

I'm very happy you are here. And I'm enjoying your PTR and love the new puppy.

So you need to tell the world who PUSHED you to goto Kona... go ahead, scream it from the mountaintops... we are all waiting! :rolleyes1

For those of you who don't know, we always put Kona on the backburner. We had it one year, but then we were with Mary and the girls and out until 1 a.m. and had to cancel the ADR because we couldn't get out of bed. Then we finally went and we've probably been about four or five times now. And it's all because TIMMY (that's nice) kept pestering me. You happy now, Tim?

EHRRRMMMAAAAGEEEHHHHRRRDDDD.
Are you doing parks on the 9th or 10th? On the 9th I should be in the MK by the afternoon and on the 10th I'll be at the Grand Floridian in the morning (for the Princess Tea Party) and then DHS in the afternoon, any chance of at least giving you a high five?

I have used your links and caught up!! Plans sound great!! I have my ressie for June ,but not real happy withe them, but I was late to the Gate !!!:rotfl2: At least I will on it for FP+. Wanna try for a lunch FP+ at BOG, as couldn't get a supper one I liked the lunch, only thing Iwill miss is seeing the Beast !!:sad2::sad1::sad:

Darn! We will be at the Studios on the 9th. And I'll be on the unmagical express at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, the 10th, heading home. I wish it would have worked. If your plans change (or ours do) let me know.

Thanks for catching up, Rosie. I hope you can get your lunch at BOG. It is no longer a FP though...it is an ADR just like dinner.

Caught up. (again) I will say I was very worried the Poly was going to be a train wreck. After seeing the finished lobby I will say I like it. Is it the same? Nope, But it is beautiful and it really opens up the area.

Now I can only hope the beach and pool area will follow suit.

Holy sandman Batman, that is one early departure.:scared1: I know what you will be drinking plenty of that early in the morning. :coffee:

We'll be staying at the Boardwalk in June also. I thought about making an ADR at the new Trattoria al Forno, but couldn't get my family worked up for it. Oh well. We'll be in Standard View, to save points...I need to find the thread that talks about a Standard View room at the end of the hallway that has a huge amount of floorspace due to being at a corner or something? I doubt I'll get it, but might as well put in a request for it.

Anyone else's notifications been messed up? I haven't been getting any for about a week. Wonder what's going on? :confused3

Fixed!

I was just looking for 'Tim was right' ;)

We are saving points by staying in studios for as long as we can. Not sure how that will work out in a few years though. :rotfl2:

I'll let you know what I think after I'm there in May; but I know I am going to miss the old lobby.

Now I can only hope the beach and pool area will follow suit.

That pool definitely needed some type of upgrade.

Holy sandman Batman, that is one early departure.:scared1: I know what you will be drinking plenty of that early in the morning. :coffee:

Let's hope they are open that early, Bob!

The same to you, Mo!!!! xo

Trust me, a Studio standard woud have been fine...but it wasn't available. :( And I can't believe I am missing you yet again; you going in June, me in July. No harm in requesting that specific room, at all.

Anyone else's notifications been messed up? I haven't been getting any for about a week. Wonder what's going on? :confused3

They probably figure you haven't done an update on your own TR, that you probably aren't going to show up anway. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I saw what you did there!!!!

I was just looking for 'Tim was right' ;)

Yes, TIM, you were right!

That ought to get interesting.
