I'm planning a trip for right when the kids are out of school.

I'm going to need a car for 3 adults, 2 kids (5 total) for 7 nights....

Probably Wednesday - Wednesday or Tuesday to Tuesday.

Looking at 6-16 through 6-23 maybe?

Any suggestions or luck around that time?

Thanks so much!

I've checked Thrifty and Alamo for June 4-14 and using Insider discount and coupon code AD2338FDF (believe it is a Visa code), I got a full-size all in for $266. Just today, Thrifty has lowered their rates to about the same level as Alamo. I hope to be in the $175 range eventually but thought that rate was ok.

What is the insiders discount?

When you use the coupon code, do you need to have a physical coupon with you upon pickup or do you have to use a Visa?

The Insider's discount is for signing up under "Alamo Insiders" on their website, it's free. You don't need an actual coupon but would want to use a Visa, just in case they ask. As I mentioned, Thrifty has rates that are pretty close right now too using their "My Blue Chip" (also free) with no other coupon needed.

Really surprised to see how slow this thread has been when there have been a lot of posts in the May thread.

Been checking Alamo and Thrifty every day - Alamo (with Visa AD2338FDF code) has been up into the $300+ range for June 4-14 and Thrifty pretty steady in the mid to high $200's.

I just booked my dates directly thru the Costco travel website and it is the cheapest so far. All you need is a costco membership. I got a 12 day compact car rental for $338. with Budget ($25 off and save 30% is the offer)

Check your Alamo rates today. I was able to upgrade from a midsize SUV to a Standard SUV and save $100 for the first week in June. I used the Mastercard coupon code AF2604JDN and rental car mommma contract ID 7013904.

Thank you Brer Chump! I checked Alamo rates when I first saw your post and was able to secure a rate $75 less with the codes you provided!

I use carrentalsavers for mine. they use all available coupons and companies. I reserved back in oct for my trip in june. My dates are 3-20 and got a full size with alamo for 240.00. they have gone up since then though.

did anyone try the vroom vroom discount with Alamo. I've had good prices in the past with it. contract #299851

I have a reservation with it right now which is far cheaper than any other code I could find. The big question everyone's been asking is will it be honored? There doesn't seem to be a good answer on who qualifies for it.

Anyone with a one day coupon? I am just renting a car for one day while we are docked in Port Canaveral.
I can use the contract IDs, but the coupons mentioned so far are not one day coupons.

First time renting a minivan from MCO for June 20-27. Confused on how to get the best deal and what extras are needed. Seems I get a price but when the extra fees are added on it's $100 more So what extras do you pay for and any other suggestions?
Thanks in Advance

Thank you for this thread. I was just able to upgrade from an intermediate (at EZ rental) to a full size (at alamo) for almost the same price using the Visa code and the car momma contract. I'm also curious about that vroom vroom contract as that knocks off a good bit more. Is there a risk of booking it at that price and then they won't accept it when I get the car?

Question: I know some people make a backup rental in case things don't work out with the code they are using. Would there be any reason to not have your backup rental at the same location? I'm thinking about trying the vroom vroom code for a SUV, but I'd want to keep my full size rental in case there are issues with getting the vehicle. Does Alamo (or any other company) check to see if you have multiple reservations? I know some people will put the second in their spouses name, but I can tell you I will be doing 100% of the driving.

This morning I noticed the Thrifty rates went down for my trip - June 4-14. A midsize (using Blue Chip) under Hot Deals was $207 all in for a midsize. The best I had done prior to that was $260 at Alamo using the Visa code a month or so ago.

Will we need to show anything with the Car rental momma code? It is giving me a great rate, but don't want to be questioned at the gate.

That is a question that doesn't seem to have an easy answer. There are some threads that discuss it, even a few recent ones and there have been mixed results. I passed on the code (at least for now) because it was only saving a few dollars vs using the Visa code Rental Car Momma ID listed above. My big concern would be if something happened, how would insurance work. My credit card covers me but not if I get rental insurance (included in the vroom vroom code), and my guess is that our insurance policy would be similar. I've read stories where people got the rate but they had to remove the insurance. I'd rather just play it safe with a code I know I can use.
