The food on the brunch was very tasty.....but disappointingly....they constantly ran out of stuff on the buffet. To the point that I chose to pass on things I normally would have liked and some people stayed @ the buffet tables and waited for the food, that was still being cooked, to come out.
People waited very long for trays/condiments to be re-supplied and complained to the management. Looked like only 1 bus boy doing all the work.
Still....worth going to but don't be in a hurry!!

I am interested in hearing a bit more about the BBQ grills. Where are they exactly at the resort? Are they in high demand? Easy to reserve?

Separately, you know what would be really great for this thread? Some pictures of the rooms in the first post. I know that most of this info has been transferred over from previous threads, but much of the info is only links. Some pictures would be greatly appreciated! I promise to help by taking some pictures of our one bedroom room and posting them when we get home mid-March.

I was in an Ocean View Inn Room last week and returned home to snowy Maine late Saturday. They had opened the beach access Saturday morning from a temporary access beyond building 15. It opened at 8am just an hour before high tide and there was no room to walk with your toes in the water because of a huge cliff like plateau of sand that had been built up for beach sand replenishment two stories high. The cabanas were placed atop this plateau with a huge drop off to the surf below. Sorry I didn't get a photo. Also, during the week while the beach was closed, construction began on the main building on the entire end facing the pool which included lots of banging and clanging as 4 story scaffolding was erected and workers spent a lot of time watching the pool activity. It took away from the atmosphere in a very big way! I had gotten a letter about the beach closure, but the letter did not mention this double whammy affront to my resort enjoyment.

Very disappointing indeed!

Just booked my September visit this morning. :) Hoping I can convince my mom to come down from NJ and join me.

Here is a picture of the grills located near the fire pit just past Villa 12. There are also some located at the pavilion by the pond across the street. I have not seen anyone using them and dont now if they can be reserved.

Any idea on how long the construction on the main building is supposed to take?
Not sure how long it will take or what they are doing, but they did go to the extra trouble of adding scrim to the scaffolding that matches the color of the building. Putting up all that scaffolding took 3 full days and was likely the noisiest part of the project. Perhaps a call to the resort would be a good way to find out.

Just booked our first trip with an exchange through RCI for a 1bd the week of April 11. DS4 and DS2 are going to have a blast.
If anyone is looking to do a chair/umbrella exchange please let me know.

And on the north & south side of the Sebastian Inlet on A1A is a wonderful "Sebastian Inlet State Park". Here's a few wildlife shots..

Hi all,

Nice thread, very informative. We are planning a quick one nighter on our way to the Oct. 28th Magic out of Miami. Considering getting a couple OVIR's. Are there any king rooms or are they all doubles?

The Ocean View Inn Rooms all have two Queen Beds. Ask for fourth floor Direct Ocean View for the best view. My Avatar is sunrise from my OVIR balcony.
