Put me on the list of OMG YOU HAVE NEVER DONE DUMBO?!?!?!
You should totally come during my dates! You got a whole year to save and plan! And Splash Mountain is my FAVORITE ride in Magic Kingdom! I would haul you right on it with me!Um... how have you never been on Dumbo???? I get not wanting to do it every year (although I do) ... but never? It's a classic! I'm glad you're at least planning to do it on your next trip.
Overall, great lists! I think you have a nice balance of things for you, things for them, and things for everyone.
And if I somehow end up there at the same time as you (aka if I move to Disney World, which is not likely to happen ... hey, I can dream, right?) I'll do the Mountains and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with you! (although I've actually never done Splash Mountain ... I keep wanting to but something gets in my way)
It's so true!!! Actually, in my case, I was a little bit surprised that there wasn't MORE in the Magic Kingdom that I haven't done. I was kind of proud to see there's only a few "new" things left for me!I love this idea! I already posted 10 must dos for WDW but I think I might break it down by park similar to how you and Jess have done it.
Isn't it funny when you look at these lists of things you haven't done? It's hard to believe but it just goes to show how immense Disney is and how you can have a new experience no matter how many times you go.
Doh! Okay, don't tell Mark, it can be our little secret!I better not tell Mark you've never been on Dumbo...he might not let me read your PTR/TR's anymore. Tis is a must do for us at least once a year.
I love your must do's and I should really make a list myself.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it! Being with somebody who is prone to motion sickness will force me to do some of the more laid-back stuff I've always ran right past. I think it'll be good!Great list for MK!!! Isn't it amazing how many things there are at Disney that even for those of us who have been to Disney many, many times... there are still things we haven't done?! Also, I think it'll be really fun to experience Disney with two first-timers!
Don't judge me, lady!!!Put me on the list of OMG YOU HAVE NEVER DONE DUMBO?!?!?!
I've been to Chef Mickey's once, in 2009, for dinner. The food was fine, nothing spectacular. Golden Corral or Ryan's level quality. Which I eat at home, so I wasn't completely unhappy with it like so many people are. There's definitely better dinner buffets at WDW, though. I went that time mainly for the character interaction, which was fantastic. We went on our arrival night, and it was a great way to start our trip.Okay...I will keep it our secret for now.
We haven't been to Chef Mickey's since 2004 and that was dinner. We weren't happy with it. I'd go for breakfast, but I have to do Crystal Palace and can never fit it in.

Why was the holiday it's a small world at Disneyland offensive? I know nothing about it!I'm saving for 2021 ... can't let myself get distracted and go down any earlier (except that I'll totally be making many Disney trips before then, but whatever). Maybe if I can swing it I'll come down in December ... I've never been to the World in December (I've been to Disneyland in December ... was a little offended by holiday it's a small world).
So many people love Splash Mountain that I know I should try it eventually ... but the line is really long sometimes! (We almost did it in November, but it was Splash Mountain or Woody and Jessie, and we wanted to see Woody and Jessie).
And I get thinking Dumbo is for kids - but that's never stopped me from doing anything! Disney is fun because you can let our your inner kid more than you would in the real world.
Changing ADRs ... and that's why I don't plan my trips this far in advance. I'd change my plans too many times.
I think Chef Mickey's is a great way to make sure your aunt & uncle meet the "Big 5." I actually recommended it to my sister's coworker for his 2.5 year old's first trip, but they started planning late and I don't think they were able to get an ADR.
Anyway ... you should probably finalize your plans soon, only 174 days until you can make ADRs!
I hope nobody throws anything at me for what I'm about to say... I had Country Bear Jamboree on the list for them, and I took it off. The truth is... I like it about as much as I like it's a small world... Which ain't much.I would add Country Bears jamboree to your list. This is a classic that everyone needs to do at least once, and it is a good chance to "rest a spell".
I will only ride Dumbo if I am being forced to do it by a grandchild. The up and down while twirling around is not my favorite thing.

I know, I need to make up mind on these dang ADRs, it's getting down to the wire! Only 173 days left now!
One suggestion for your Dumbo ride - if you can time it around sunset it's a GORGEOUS view!
WOW. That is really surprising! I would not have expected it to be Christmas only, and you're absolutely correct, the cultures represented in it's a small world should have their holidays acknowledged also! What a terrible oversight on Disney's part! The complete lack of other holidays, when it would be so easy to throw in a quick 4-5 Hanukkah & Kwanzaa dolls, bothered me a lot. I think it was the issue of an attraction that's supposed to celebrate many cultures only covering one holiday.
You're killing me.173 days ... I think that's time for one more ADR change, maybe 2, but you really need to solidify your plans! You definitely need to have everything in place before park hours come out, or you might somehow let park days interfere with your ADRs!
Oooh, thanks for the pro tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind! One suggestion for your Dumbo ride - if you can time it around sunset it's a GORGEOUS view!
I'm writing it down! "Dumbo... at... sunset." Got it!ohhh I have to second this!!!
It's okay! This thread will be around for another 352 days... You got plenty of time to catch up!Holy cow I need to get caught up! Somehow I missed 2 whole pages of Disney talk! Will promise to catch up soon, been crazy busy at work
I agree! I was tickled pink when I opened it!Love the Christmas card. So much more fun that the standard stuff.
Is it really that bad? I don't do well on spinny things, either. But it looks so slow and gentle, I thought I might be okay. My aunt is extremely prone to motion sickness, so if it's too much for me, it'll totally wipe her out. Maybe Dumbo won't be on our list after all.I can safely say we've never done Dumbo either. My husband and I don't do well on rides that spin so we actively avoided it in September. I will have my mom take my DD next year. I will be sick for sure!
