Disney vacation savings account

Paid off my package balance online from the account today. Everything went fine. Already have one going for next year.

I have two trips in 2015 - one is room only WDW and one is ABD. Can I fund an ABD with this ? I like this as a storing house for all my gift cards!!!!

From the Disney Vacation Account website
The Disney Vacation Account Budget Estimator provides planning links and an interactive calculator that will help you estimate the cost of your Disney vacation. Choose from the following Disney vacation types:

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
Disneyland Resort in California
Disney Cruise Line
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawai'i

So, yes you can use it for ABD.

thanks! I am playing with it now and trying to see HOW I can have it take giftcards as payments but I don't see that as an option. It seems to want a charge card....Must you do a fixed monthly amount THEN you add gift cards as you go? I can't seem to see where my monthly contribution CAN be a giftcard...

Your monthly contribution can not be a gift card. You don't have to make a monthly contribution. There is a place for one time contribution. That's where you enter the gift cards

Is this your FIRST contribution? If so, I believe that has to be from a credit card. After that, you can enter gift cards at any time.

Select monthly contributions and enter your credit card number and set the first date to a few weeks away. Then you can turn off the reoccurring contribution before the first one is even charged to your card. Then you can do one-time contributions with gift cards.

I just opened an account. I cannot find my account number located any where on the page. Well, it shows some of the number only the last four digits. I emailed them about this but still have not heard back. Any one know where I can see my account number?

Thanks

How do I retrieve my Disney Vacation Account number?

You will need to have your Disney Vacation Account number ready when you make a payment for your Disney vacation. Here's how to retrieve your Disney Vacation Account number:
Step 1) Go to Your Account page
Step 2) Click "View Account Number" on the left side of the page under "Manage Your Account"
Step 3) You will be asked to sign in to your account again—and once signed in, only the last 4 digits of your account number will show online
Step 4 ) After you submit the request for your account number, the first 12 digits will be sent to you via the email address used for your Disney Vacation Account.

You will need to have the complete 16-digit account number (the 12 digits from the email and the 4 shown online) in order to use your Disney Vacation Account.

Go onto your disney vacation account and on the left hand side it should say "view your account number". Click that and it will have you log in again. Then after you log in, click send to have them send your account number to your email. After that you should get an email about your account number and it should only show all the numbers except the last 4. Take those numbers and add the last 4 numbers that show on your disney vacation account page and that should be your account number

That is their security method. You request them to email you the rest of the number. The link should be easy to find. Should be there where you found the last 4

I've heard a lot about this savings plan and have decided to look into it. My question that someone here might be able to answer is, does the money have to remain in the account for 120 days to get the reward for every $1000? We are going over Christmas and New Years, we have a bunch of gift cards to pay off the balance, I was debating if it would be worth putting them all into this account first then a week or two late calling to use the account to pay off our balance. Im looking at putting $5000-6000 in there so it could be a decent reward to use later.

This was brought up a while back but it is confusing.

I had to ask them when I used the account because I had the same question

Your account must be active for 120 days in order to earn the bonus. The money does not have to remain in there for the full time. Money deposited and paid toward the trip counts.

So as an example, you can deposit $6000, 30 days later you can use $5000 of that to pay off your trip and then after 120 days you can earn a bonus of $80, even though the balance left in the account is $1000. They compute the bonus on the total deposited

ETA - something to point out (for others considering it)
It takes between 45 and 30 days to get the bonus gift card, which you can't request till your account reaches 120 days old. So you need to make sure you account for the time the account must remain active and the time it takes to get a gift card. Don't use it for a trip that is 125 days away. You won't have gotten your bonus in time to use it. I planned mine out so that once I hit the 120 mark I stopped making deposits so I didn't loose any bonus.

Has anyone verified that they are or are not getting 2% back when they use a Disney Premier Visa card to fund their accounts?

So far, so good with the DVA. This is the way I maximize the savings.

  • Use Disney Premiere Visa to buy Target Gift cards at Kroger(4x fuel points and 2% back Visa)
  • Order Disney Gift cards on target.com with the target gift cards (5% off red card)
  • Enter Disney Gift cards into DVA ($20 per $1000)

For every $1000 I get around $100 savings in gas, $20 Disney GC from Visa, $20 Disney GC from DVA, and $50 off from Target. Not too bad :thumbsup2

Yes, you can get 5% off at Target.com using gift cards as long as your Red Card is set as your default form of payment.

You are the master. So there aren't any convenience fees when buying a Target gift card at the Kroger?

I buy gift cards at kroger and then load the gift cards into DVA and I get the 2%, I have never tried to fund it directly with the Premiere card.
