We booked the add-on for the 7/10/15 12-night Baltics cruise. It will be me, DH, DD (12, almost 13, at the time of the cruise) and DS (10, almost 11, at cruise time). This will be our third ABD. We did Scotland last year and are a couple of weeks away from Central Europe. It is our first ABD cruise add-on, though. This cruise will be my 11th on DCL and the 7th for the rest of my family. We are also doing the 11-night Iceland and Norway cruise that is right before the 7/10 Baltics cruise.

Looking forward to sharing info about the Baltics add-ons and *meeting* others on our particular add-on. Would love to hear from anyone who has gotten additional info from ABD on what is included in the add-on that isn't included in the published itinerary. For example, a poster on another thread confirmed that ABD confirmed the ABBA Museum would be included in Stockholm and that there would be a karaoke night.

I also emailed my TA to see if she could confirm exactly what is included in the price of the add-on. I know from hearing about previous add-ons that they have included the photo CD (including all cruise photos in addition to ABD photos), gratuities for ships crew, bottled water, etc. I'm not sure if those things are still included and what else or other things might be included.

My family will be on the July 22nd Baltic cruise and it will be our 4th ABD (but first cruise add-on).

It will be me, hubby, my mom, and 2 kids (DD 10 and DS 11 (almost 12))

Calfan - I'd love to know what's included in the add-on fare, so looking forward to seeing what you learn!

My family has added the pre-cruise add-on for the 12 night July 10 Baltic cruise. Myself (Stephanie), my DS who will be 6 (Oliver) and my mom (Carole).

My family of four is booked on the 12-Night on July 10th. It's me, DH, DD15 (at cruise time) and DS18 (at cruise time). We travel with Calfan and her family and are also signed up for the B2B with the Iceland/Norway cruise. Can't wait!

We are booked on the 12-night Baltic ABD cruise add-on. It will be me, DD 16 and DD 13 (ages at time of sailing). We are also doing the B2B Calfan and CaliforniaGirl09. We are also doing the Copenhagen pre-cruise ABD prior to our June 29 Iceland/Norway cruise. This will be our 6th and 7th adventure with ABD. We have done a pre-cruise adventure (Barcelona Escape), a cruise add-on (Mediterranean Magic), Knights and Lights, Backstage Magic, and DVC New York (coming up in July). We are totally hooked on ABD! :cool1:

The pre-cruise and cruise add-ons work exactly like the regular ABDs except you don't have to change hotels! :rotfl: You have the extra guides join your tour and ABD provides you with extra magic surprises (plan on an extra suitcase to bring everything home!). On the Med Magic, they provided us with a case of bottled water for our cabin plus water was always provided for all the tours. At the end of the cruise, we were given a CD of all the pictures taken by the shutters photographers (they encourage you to jump in front of any photographer you can find!!). In addition to the shutters pictures, you still get the .jpg images that the adventure guides take. Just like on a 'regular' ABD experience, plan to be very busy! We were normally one of the first groups off the ship in the morning and we were one of the later groups coming back. They try to build in some shopping time, but plan to look fast. They try to make sure you see as much of the area as they can. You will appreciate the sea days with nothing planned just so that you can catch your breath and realize that you are on the Disney Magic! We are looking forward to a very Magical Adventure for 2015!!

Which 12-night Baltic cruise are you on? The same one as Calfan & CaliforniaGirl09?

Thanks so much for this detail. I was hoping the add-ons still included the Shutters CD plus the case of water. Do they also still include the gratuities for the ships crew or has that been eliminated? I'm also very glad to hear about the surprises since the description of the add-on on the ABD website is honestly a little on the bland side compared to the regular ABDs. I also appreciate the confirmation that the ABD gets you off the ship before many of the regular port adventures and packs a lot into each port day. Looking forward to traveling with you. We should try to meet up on the Iceland/Norway cruise. My daughter will turn 13 the August after our cruises.

Calfan - Meeting up on the Iceland cruise sounds great. My daughter will have just turned 13 in April so they will basically be the same age.
I don't remember if the ships gratuities were included. I will have to go back and look at my final bill and will post back later. But...I do remember there were several people on the cruise last year that assumed the tips for the guides would be charged to their bill like the ships gratuities normally are. Please note this is not the case! The expectation is that you tip (cash) in the provided envelopes just like you do on regular ABD trips. The guides cannot get their tips from your ship account.

Forgive me if this is rude, but does anyone know what the cost is, per person, for the ABD add on for the 12-Night Baltic Cruise? I'm booked on the July 10th, 2015 cruise, but just realized this evening that there is an ABD add on.

Thanks!

Nothing rude about it. :) We share that kind of info here all the time! There might even be mention of it in one of the other threads already, or I'm sure someone who knows will post it here! You could also call ABD at 888-272-0571 (the line specifically for the add-ons) in the morning, and they could tell you. Or your Travel Agent if you booked your cruise through one! But I bet you'll have the answer here, soon. I will say that there were reports that some of the add-ons sold out pretty quickly.

ETA: OK, I looked through the thread where people were mentioning prices, and it looks like the pricing for the July 10, 2015 Baltic cruise is:

Adult - $3389
Child - $3219

And the reports on that thread are also that this add-on sold out half-way through the first day they were available (June 18). Now, a) that was just reported, nothing official and b) it's fully refundable up until PIF date for the cruise, so people might cancel at that point. I'd still call ABD and check it if you're still interested after seeing the prices.

Here's the link to the thread where we discuss the prices (starts on page 5)

Thanks, Sayhello...much appreciated. Couldn't find any mention of price on the thread, but I'll give them a call tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if it's already sold out...I'm usually a day late, so to speak. :rotfl2: Having been on several ABD's as you and many on this board, I can imagine the experience of an ABD on the cruise is just awesome!

Hi, ABDGurl. If you look back at my reply above, I edited it to add the pricing that I found.

I did the the Med-cruise add-on the first year they had them, and I really, truly loved it. I found it an excellent way to do a cruise, really maximizing my port time, along with all the wonderful pluses that you get with an ABD. I hope you can still book it if you want to!

Hi Sayhello...thanks so much for the info...I completely missed it. Yes, you are right...they are sold out. I just phone ABD and they won't even give you a price if you put your name on the wait list. So good information for me to know. Much appreciated as always.

My friend Linda and I are booked on the 7 day Baltic cruise ABD add on for the June 13, 2015 sailing....I just did my first ABD (BSM June 8-13, 2015) and I am now hooked on ABD....we are also doing the Copenhagen pre-cruise (June 3)

My family (DH and 10 YO DD) will be joining the pre-cruise ABD on June 10th and the June 13th cruise ABD. This will be our first time for ABD and are really excited. The descriptions are a bit bland so I am happy to hear from previous ABD cruisers of the add ons and surprises…
