"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I love that you went left & got to meet Jess, how cool! Her TRs were the 1st I had read, you're right she's a total Dis celebrity! You've seem to become a famous celebrity :artist: with all of your dismeets!

First off, happy belated Canada D'eh!!

Awww, love the Bambi topiary!

The whole "go left" thing is really funny because going right just seems more natural for some reason. Glad it's not just me! I made a specific point to go left on my last trip and it's weird that it was an actual decision I had to make.

But I like your prize. Haha. Great pic.... and brave Jess for walking around barefoot!

Lia's "stuck in Disney" TR was the first one I ever read on here and she was my inspiration for actually dressing up for Halloween last year. It was also her unabashed love for Disney that made me stick around after getting grumpy from reading the other boards. So I think it's wicked cool that you carried that pin around with you and that you were actually able to facilitate her getting it!

I never really thought about the direction choice in WS. I just instinctively go left every time. Like, as I read your update, I had to think back to my last couple trips, and holy moly...DISers must really have that subconscious desire to go in one direction. I've gotta work on that!:rotfl2:

Wow, you met the queen of trip reports! While I never followed hers, I listen to the DIS Unolugged podcast so I'm very familiar with her reign. And to see her really is like spotting a celebrity! Very cool and unexpected encounter.
And, once again, the DIS does bring some awesome people together. I feel like the TR boards, especially, are such good friends. I always get such a kick out of seeing who we can run into on every vacation. Almost makes it even more fun! :thumbsup2

Hey Rob! :wave2: Great update and great way to start your last day!

I'm with you on Sunshine Seasons. That is an excellent spot to have breakfast for sure. And they've got some killer pastries as well.

Love the new diggs! That jacket is beautiful and I'm sure you've already gotten a lot of wear out of it.

Wait.....wait....wait a minute. Is this really Rob? Or did someone hijack Rob's thread? Rob doesn't go left in the World Showcase! Ever! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Congrats on the new adventure! Stepping out of one's comfort zone results in personal growth! (I think Dr. Phil said that. If he didn't, he should've!)

Awww, how awesome that you got to meet Jess! And even more awesome that you got to pass along the Captain EO pin. That was very thoughtful of you indeed. And you're right...it absolutely demonstrates the pixie dust that spreads as a result of the DISboards. Good karma! :goodvibes

I finally caught up and it only took forever! :rotfl: It was so worth it! I absolutely love this TR. You definitely have a knack for making emotions rise to the surface. I have smiled, laughed out loud and teared up more times than I can count. I wanted say thank you for this wonderful gift. I can not wait to see how this one ends!

Lisa :goodvibes

Another winner of an update!

Glidin'! That's funny! :rotfl2:

My big mis-speak peeve is "Wild Kingdom". The local zoo for us is "York's Wild Kingdom". When I was on the 8th grade class trip, a lot of the students and chaperones kept saying "We are going to Wild Kingdom today." Drove me nuts!

Nice shopping score!

We usually go left in WS- probably for a couple of reasons- the pavilions with the "rides" are on the left- that is what the boys want. Plus, when we are going to EP from BC, we always go through UK and Canada, so going left is a little change of pace.

Congrats on your reward for going left. What an EPIC meet!!!

Hope that helped take the sting out of your final hours at the World.

Breakfast looks good! Or rather, from the looks of it, breakfast was good, since I can't see a large percentage of it. :rotfl: I had a few of those I-was-starving lack of food pictures too.
You went left? What do you think you're a NASCAR driver or something? I never go left either. Congratulations on your achievement! And you got to meet Jess too, how awesome! Love the story about the Captain EO button, you're always so thoughtful.

Oh my goodness, it was SO cool. When you talk about DISboards, and most certainly the Trips Reports board, she definitely stands out. Awww gee, I wish that was true, lol. Watch... next trip I'll meet no one!! :(

Ahhh, this trip report is just getting better and better!

I don't want it to end!

Awwwwwww you are too sweet. THANK YOU!!!!! But it's not over yet. :)

Well, I am curious to see how it ends! :)

Haha, we're slowly getting there. But I plan to finish the day before I head to Niagara Falls, so it won't be too long.

Why thank you Sue. And ok, that was clever.

I know. Pretty cool.

I know, but I don't know why. But then Disney seems to think this is the case too, thus the reason the Tomorrowland bridge is so much bigger than Adventureland for instance. So it must be real.

Not a bad prize at all. But my God I couldn't imagine walking World Showcase barefoot. Ouch!

Ahhh "Stuck In Disney", I remember it fondly. And you're so right... She gets it! When I read about the EO merch it just laid the groundwork for a potentially fun Disney quest. It was pretty awesome to finally put the quest to rest.

I never really thought about the direction choice in WS. I just instinctively go left every time. Like, as I read your update, I had to think back to my last couple trips, and holy moly...DISers must really have that subconscious desire to go in one direction. I've gotta work on that!:rotfl2:

It's probably not something many people realize or even think about. I think it really just comes from habit. I wonder if it has something to do with where we normally exit Future World? Maybe people who finish at Test Track hit the Showcase on the left side, and for Soarin', hit it on the right? It's a theory I have... But trust me, it is not an easy habit to break, lol.

Oh my Lord, it was certainly a worthy award for my sacrifice. Haha, the poor DIS team having to hand out that "Thread of Month" award month after month after month. Somebody please overtake her!!!! But no one ever came even close.

It really does Alicia. And I really think the TR boards are extra special in that regard. We see each other, watch kids grow up, it is a great big extended family. And you just never know when you'll run into the next family member while strolling through Disney. It's pretty darn AWESOME!!!

Well Hello #10 ;) Thank you and I quite agree.

Yeah it is and Yeah they do. I always have to eat breakfast there at least one a trip. And yes, I'm kinda partial to the Strawberry Shortcake.

I realy do love that jacket. No exaggeration, I wore it all winter. Love it!!

That's what it was alllll about Alan. Personal growth, trying something new, breaking an age old habit, all of the above.

And hey, sometimes we get rewarded for the sacrifices we make, and this was definitely a lovely reward. Add in the fact that I was able to complete a personal Disney mission in the process, well, it does not get much better than that. Sometimes we need to create our own pixie dust.

Awww YAY. I'm sorry I wrote so much, lol. BUTTTTTT I am so beyond delighted to hear it was worth it. Thank you for your extremely kind words Lisa. I really do aim to hit all the emotional queues so it's so nice to hear that. Thank you so much for reading. I think it ends on a pretty darn nice note.

Aww thanks Dee!!

Very funny... and really really annoying, lol.

Ohhh that would drive me NUTS! My mother (like many I imagine) still refers to Magic Kingdom as "Disney World". Yes, granted there was a time when Magic Kingdom was all there was, but still...

Thank you!

haha, technically for me, going Left would be a change of pace too. Yet for some reason, I just never did it. But I did!!!

EPIC indeed. I was pretty stoked I must admit. One of the most desired DISmeets I imagine.

It did. And don't worry... There is plenty more sting repellent yet to come.

Hahaha, yes I believe it was good Wendy. I figure anyone can take a pic of newly acquired food. but to take one when it's almost gone... That takes skills.

The flip side is now I'm probably going to have to go left from now on since it clearly is the proper way with rewards and stuff. It was a pretty special reward. Aww thanks Wendy. I was so happy to finally finish my adventure.

Rob-

I have been a DISer for a while (very rarely posting, but frequently lurking!). I love your TR so much that you have prompted me to post!

I stumbled onto your trip report a week or so ago and have just now caught up! Just had to send a quick note to say that I am loving your report, and am glad I found it before it ends. I have a quick holiday trip planned in Dec 2014 and all your holiday photos from your trip have really made me even more excited than I already was about that upcoming trip (though it is hard to believe that is possible as a Disney trip in the works is ALWAYS exciting to me!).

I am sure you will love your trip to Niagara Falls. I grew up in the area of Rochester, NY, and was lucky enough that my grandparents lived in Niagara Falls, NY so as a kid I got to spend a lot of time on both the American and the Canadian side of the Falls. Enjoy your trip and cherish every minute of your time with your new friends.

Thanks again for a great TR and for all the photos. :yay:

As I left the Land, I overheard some guy exclaim loudly to his traveling party that he had a FP coming up for “Gliding”.
Nope, not for Soarin’… but for “Gliding”.

GLIDING!!!!!

Disney REALLY needs to start a screening process for guests.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

SO TRUE!!!

Now, if you’ve read anything by me before,
You would know that I have some form of disability that prevents me from “Going Left” into World Showcase.
I have no scientific explanation for this phenomenon, and doctors are completely baffled.

I have the reverse of this, as we ALWAYS go left when entering WS! The only times I can think of us going right is when we are specifically going to France to meet Belle at the WS rope drop. But when we are just wandering? Nope, always left.

It's pretty great that you deciding to break tradition (or cosmic forces) led you meeting Jess so randomly! And how freaking sweet are you for carrying that button around for so long on the off chance of meeting her so you could get it to Lia and eventually her friend?! You are the ultimate in DIS friends!!! :love:pixiedust:

Trying to figure out where that famous disers shoes went? I'm a little compulsive about my feet being clean, I just kept thinking were are her shoes? :rotfl:

Getting sad cause it's almost over Rob. I say it's time to plan another December trip! We'll be there 5 - 14!

Heidi, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! I'm so touched that this little TR prompted you to post. WELCOME!!

I'm so happy you found it too. I love hearing from new readers. You should absolutely be excited for your upcoming trip. Disney is awesome. Disney at Christmas is extraordinary.

I think this upcoming trip will be great as well. While I am looking forward to finally seeing the Falls, I am far more excited to see everyone again. That will be far and away the best part. I will certainly cherish every moment for sure.

THANK YOU again Heidi for all your kind words and for following along. I appreciate it so much!

Haha either they do it, or I'm going to have to start. The madness needs to stop.

It seems everyone has the habit whether left or right, which is quite fascinating to me.

But, clearly something drew me to the Left on that day. Whether cosmic forces or Disney Magic, something did. And it certainly paid off. Aww thanks. But really, I've always loved hearing about little pixie dust stories, so this was just a great opportunity to create one myself.

Getting sad cause it's almost over Rob. I say it's time to plan another December trip! We'll be there 5 - 14!

Haha, that was not lost on me either Linda. Not so much for cleanliness, but for pain. That has to hurt.

I know, and it's even harder since I don't have another Disney trip booked yet. There is a very outside chance I'll get back in December if the stars align properly.

I understand the love for Captain Eo. And the lack of merch. There's a hole in one of my two tees and I almost cried when I saw it hehe

Could it be that you keep going right because you hit Canadia first? Hmmm.... :thumbsup2

Great DIS-meet with Jess! We met her during our January trip by complete coincidence and she was extremely sweet and nice. :goodvibes

To be honest, I only saw it one time, and that was in 2012, so by then it was was little outdated. BUT, when considering its era, it's really impressive. And hey it's MJ. You can't get much better than that. I felt so bad that there wasn't any merch though, so passing along that button felt necessary. I'm sorry about your shirt. If I had one I'd totally send it to you.

Haha, you know Dave, I thought about that. I really did. But I've come to the conclusion that, if anything, that fact should make me go the opposite way. I mean, I see "Canada" every day, so it should be the last thing I want to see, lol.

It was super awesome. To think of all the people that must stop her, you would think it might get annoying. But she really is a sweet girl for sure.

Jeeze, I go away for a little bit and miss two awesome updates!!!

What a great night! I love how you travel solo, but then meet so many people!

The fact that you and Popadon have the same jacket makes that jacket now like the coolest thing one can buy! Should be a limited edition item now. ;)

Some people would go crazy seeing Brad Pitt or Jennifer Lopez, but I too would only lose my cool if I ran into Jess the Frump!! IMHO you are a DISelebrity also, so it was fun to see you two together in a picture. :thumbsup2

Yay Rob! Any day that is started in Epcot is sure to be a great day :goodvibes IMO! The fountain :lmao: enough said. It's so funny to me too when people get the names of Disney rides off. Gliding.....:lmao:. I hate to say it but my DH falls in this group too. We have 4 Disney trips under our belt now and God love him he still calls it Magic Thunder:lmao:. And yes we make fun of him....every....single....time...Magic Thunder:lmao: ah ha never gets old. I am so proud of you for going left at world showcase. Good for you! I am just like that but opposite. I cannot wrap my mind around starting on the right side. Can't do it. Nope. You know I'm sure that there is group help for people like us right?! Ah you met Jess :goodvibes how wonderful! I too, like everyone here on the disboards, followed her on her on her frump adventures! She seems like a genuine person for sure :goodvibes So glad that you got to meet her! And see it was Disney fate that made you go left so you could get that pin to Lia!!! Such a great update. Cannot wait to hear more. Although I think that I will be in withdrawl when you complete your report and I fear that since you are on your last day that will come too soon. You need to take another trip so you can do some more reporting!!! :upsidedow
