Yay! We will be at BC at the same time! I'm sure we will see you at SAB at some point. My 13 year old son's favorite pastime is playing volleyball in the pool so we are at SAB all morning and most of the afternoon. We enjoying having lunch poolside then heading into the parks around 4.

Congrats on getting into YC!

That's where my boys will be as well!!! :thumbsup2 They usually go back and forth between volleyball and that little whirlpool circle. I can't wait to get there, it is FREEZING here this week. I need sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9::cloud9:

We are driving in this June and plan on arriving late in the day, so rather that checking in late to yc and missing out on our first day of vacation we are thinking about staying offsite one night so we can begin our first day early at our resort! Has anyone ever done this? Can you recommend a nice hotel closely? Thanks so much!

We have done that many times. We usually book Pop Century. :thumbsup2 It's cheap, on property, and even though you're getting in late it just feels awesome to be IN disney world! :woohoo: The next morning you can leave your luggage with bell services and have them transfer it over to the YC for you while you hit the parks! :cloud9:

Yes! We usu. arrive very tired and hungry around 4:30 or 5 pm, so we just walk in at the Comfort Inn on International drive. It's just what it is, a room, but we don't plan on being long. We grab a bite to eat next door at the restaurant, then park our car right outside our room. Grab the few items we need for the night, get to bed early and wake up early! We then check in at around 7:30 or 8 am and sometimes the room is ready, and other times, we have just gotten our tickets and gone off to the park. They will text you when room is ready, and you can go back for a breather and unpack. You can just park your car in your area which they can tell you where that'll be.

Wish I could be there!!!! School starts August 13th here, so I'll be back to the grind. :crazy2:

I was so happy to see that Buzzy the Fly found sleeping arrangements with someone OTHER than ME!

Since Buzzy "outed" some of Dee's more endearing characteristics I feel it's only fair that I share some of Buzzy's "eccentricities".

First of all Dee and HockeyMom should know that Buzzy takes forever in the bathroom and he hogs up all the toilet paper! His tentacle care products take up all the room on the shelves and he uses copious amounts of Axe body spray.

He will eat all the left overs you drag back to the room and he likes to go through your purse and look for old Lifesavers when he thinks no one is looking.

Buzzy himself doesn't snore as much as he high pitch whines when he sleeps, so Dee, your occasional delicate snorts while sleeping will not be as noticeable.

If you should happen to be watching Jeopardy on TV during a parks break he will shout out all the answers with out giving anyone else a chance.

When riding the Disney buses to the parks he will insist on his own seat, which is completely ridiculous for a FLY and one time he even tried to rent a scooter, but Nannette and I put a stop to that.

He also likes to pass gas in public but his toots are so small that they don't have that much of an impact.

He is a tremendous gossip so be prepared for all of your personal business to be broadcast in random tweets at all hours of the day. I shudder to say this but Buzzy is spreading rumors that he is in negotiations with one of Oprah's networks for a reality TV show entitled "Disney parks on the Fly".

I think many people on this list are aware of Buzzy's propensity to start drinking your beverage uninvited, especially if it contains alcohol and doubly especially if it contains maraschino cherries. Those refillable mugs with the lids that close up nicely are the bane of his existence so remember to put them to good use anytime you are drinking a beverage.

So all those tips on bunking with Buzzy are just a start. The rest you will just have to experience on your own. In preparation for your trip just remember to be up to date with all your shots and pack drawer locks so he can't get into any of your stuff.

I need the advice from the wonderful people of this thread. I am considering inviting a friend to join me on my trip to the beach club in August. However this friend is very high maintenance.

First of all she is obsessed with the Internet and in particular Disney forums. She seems to be on the web 24 /7/ 365 so I'm not sure how I'm going to pry her off of the computer and actually get her to enjoy the real world instead of the virtual world of Disney. Second of all she is obsessive compulsive and I just know that if I let her stay in the room with me she would alphabatize my underwear drawer. Misses buzzy might not like that so it could be a conflict. Third of all she is heavily into food porn, enough said. Everything I eat, and we are talking about me, Buzzy the fly, will be photographed and documented to within an inch of its existence.

Finally she is (how do I put this gently) not the quietest of sleepers. Add to the fact that she roots for those Boston area teams makes me wonder how this bon vivant, party animal of a fly is going to hang with this complicated woman. Oh people of the beach club, what should I do. Should I allow this high maintenance woman to come with me and share my Disney vacation?

The upside is that she will be a lot of fun at that reunion being held in the beach club solarium on August 18th at around 630 pm as she seems to know a ton of people on this list.

Please advise,

Signed, your pal, Buzzy the fly, the Beach Club party fly

Dear Buzzy,

I think I know who you are taking about! I appreciate your offer, but I regret to inform you that you are too late.

A certain very generous HockeyMom and her mom have already invited me to join them during their trip to the DISMeet on Aug 18.

And I have accepted!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meet and spending time with some very good friends who I haven't met yet!

:grouphug:

Dee

PS- I really wish you hadn't mentioned that part about alphabetizing the underwear drawer. It was going to be my little surprise thank you gift to them!

PPS- Don't worry, I would still love to document your meals in pictures. It's what I do!

:rotfl2: I am extremely sad I will be missing the chance to meet up with the elite members of this group. That is the first day of school. BAH!! One of these days, I WILL join a meet! :grouphug: I just don't want to share a room with Buzzy.

We are staying at the YC next month and I have some questions regarding club level, if anyone can help. We have 2 rooms. One is regular (garden view), and I just booked another one today and club level was all they had. We are a party of 4 total, 2 adults, 2 kids. 1 adult and 2 kids are tied to regular room. 2 adults are tied to club level room. Should I add the children to the club level room, so they can visit the lounge also, or is that not necessary? The kids would not be visiting the lounge without one of us. Also, it appears I will be getting two magic bands (one for each ressie), is there a way for one magic band to open both rooms?

A little confused about your party size you say 4 total but then you say 2 adults for the CL room and 1 adult and 2 kids for the GV room which would be a total of 5 for your party if my math is correct. You would all be able to stay in one room even with a party of 5, if you are willing. But if you keep the rooms the way they are, only the CL adults would be allowed to use the lounge, you could add the kids to the CL room so they could use the lounge, but that still leaves the adult in the GV room without CL lounge access.

We had two connecting CL rooms and our bands would only open one door. They couldn't program them to open both doors. This was when they were still in the testing phase so not sure if it has changed.

I didn't realize there was volleyball in the pool. Are there specific hours for it? I'm sure my DSs 11 and 8 would love that (as would I!)

:welcome: back!

I'll add your December trip to the Be Our Guest list. Let us know if/when you book for the fall

:woohoo:

Will do but the resort we will be staying at is still pending heard the rumor we might stay anywhere from BC-YC, Boardwalk, to Carribean Beach, maybe back to AofA, hoping for BC, do miss the walk right into the back door of EPCOT

Volleyball is in the afternoon and your best bet is to check the recreation schedule for the time as they play other games as well. Adults AND children are welcome to play! :cool1:

I'm not sure about resort flies being invited to play but rumor has it that a flock of Love Bugs once crashed a game a few years back.

I wrote down how long the ME took to get from the airport to the BC in March. This was a Wednesday and the ME waiting area was empty. Our flight landed about 9:45am. We got to the ME and got the last seats on the bus at 10:06am. The bus pulled out of the depot at 10:15am. It stopped at CBR at 10:46am and only stayed there about two minutes. Then it dropped off a few people at BWI and that stop just took a few minutes, too. Then the bus went to the BC next. We got off the bus a little after 11am. Check in was fairly quick, our room was ready and we were in it by 11:15am. We dropped off our carry ons and headed to Epcot to get something to eat. We were through the International Gateway by 11:30am, stopping at the Marketplace first to buy a refillable mug so we could take a drink into Epcot with us. That mug came in very handy when I bought my first ever Grey Goose slush. ;)

Now I will admit that this particular trip from the airport to the BC was pretty fast. If it was a Saturday and the ME waiting area was full, it might have taken a bit longer. We love arriving on a Wednesday because the ME and the check in process always seem to go quickly. :)

Thank you for the detailed times and I hope we're that lucky! We're coming in on a Monday morning so hopefully as easy.

Grey Gooses are yum. I have a sangria in my sights at Via Napoli. What's in a Sunken Treasure I keep seeing mentioned? Will have to enjoy one of those as well. :hippie:

Awesome - I think it will be worth planning a hot afternoon of pool volleyball! Hopefully no bloody noses ala Meet the Parents!

As far as the parents are concerned, it's usually Bloody Mary's and not Bloody noses....

My curiosity is killing me... why would 2 adults & 2 kids need 2 rooms? I'm guessing it's because nobody will share a bed??? This is a very interesting scenario because technically you could put all 4 names on both rooms, right? So that would allow everyone lounge access.
As for the magic bands, I'm doubting they could program one band to open two different rooms which means everyone would need 2. But I'd love to hear how this turns out for you! Very interesting!!!!

I got lucky again!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Been checking availability at YC/BC for months looking for anything to open up the first week of June. Some of you might even remember me posting several times about not having any Epcot resorts available that week. We had booked a 1br at BWV as our only option. Finally yesterday I was able to get 4 of our nights at YC CL LV!!!! :cool1: I don't know what happened but suddenly they had every room category available!!!??? It must have been a block of rooms on hold. Maybe Mark Hamill released them??? :rotfl: I don't know how I got lucky again, this is the exact same thing that happened to us in March. I had been checking YC/BC availability since Christmas and was finally able to get it a couple of weeks before our Spring Break. Fate must be working on my side. :goodvibes I will keep checking for more days to open up earlier in the week, but as it stands right now we'll be there June 4-8. :thumbsup2 The kids are going to be so shocked and excited!!! It's their favorite resort. :cloud9:
awesome.... how great for you
