"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I'm so excited to hear about this giant day of yours. The FP picture is extra sad now that they are so long gone. I love that you took a picture of the lonely CM, although I was wondering what he was thinking of you taking said picture of the Circle of Life marquee? :goodvibes I'm planning on exploring more of the lesser attractions at Epcot with the kiddos this summer, so maybe I, too, will see the loneliest cast member. Can't wait to hear more.

Aw I'm so glad to hear that Cara. I hope the day comes off in the same fashion as it felt for me personally. I know, I so miss those little pieces of paper and so glad I have a few still. Haha, I knew I had to get a picture, so I made sure to focus on the marquee. I have a wide angle lens, so I knew it would work, lol. I've done pretty much everything in Future World (apart from all the Innoventions options) except for that one I think. I just can't.

Love the fireworks pics.
I drank 3 times when we were there at Starbucks. LOL.
My favorite fountain.
LOVE that shirt. Wish I saw it I would have bought it.
We might have learned about recycling on this trip.
LOL. Love the photo with Elsa and Anna.
The group photo is even better.
All caught up again.

Thanks Scott. They were pretty impressive.
Haha, strangely, I had none.
It used to be mine until it turned on me, lol.
I love that they're doing something like that, but I still don't like the wording. I'll stick with my home-made one for now.
Oh my, so people actually DO go in there? AND they actually do come out? Interesting.
Hehe, much better than waiting in a hot line for 2+ hours.
That one's my fav. A little more unique I think.

I hope my notes are in order, because I grabbed some paper partway through reading today!

YUM on that Strawberry Shortcake! It looks so, so, so good! (And I've had it before, so I know how good it is!)

The poor, sad, lonely CM. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: About getting wet watching the fountain. Just the way you explain it.

LOVE, love, love your frozen pictures! I need to show those to my nieces! :rotfl:

I will never touch Schoolbread. I will leave that for all the people that love it. Coconut and I do not get along very well. ;)

Haha, I tend to use notepad myself.

Oh I LOVE it. Just LOVE it. I'm a SB Shortcake addict I think, and this one definitely ranks as one of the best.

I'm still astonished this attraction still exists. I can't imagine working it. It must be so boring.

Stupid fountain, lol.

WAY better than waiting in a ridiculously long line. And it would be oh so boring too. I may as well work the Circle of Life attraction.

It's so funny that I am honestly not a fan of coconut at all. But this for some reason I just love. No idea why.

Great work on the Frozen photos! :rotfl: I especially like the one where you're Kristoff!

Considering that standby wait times at MK for Anna and Elsa are now 4 to 5 hours, 2 hours seems like a piece of cake. :lmao: I'm really bracing for it for our trip in October. Sounds like FP+ are very difficult to get as well. And DD has her heart really set on meeting them this time.

Seeing your pictures of Patrick in the Soarin intro video reminds me - with all of the rumors/news that they are updating the ride film (which I totally welcome) I'm afraid Puddy's intro video may become a casualty.

Thanks Dave. Not my best work, but it'll do in a pinch.

Oh I know. Who would have guessed that 2 hours would be considered short? Insane! October would be interesting. It would almost be a year by then, so it'll be interesting if the lines die down at all. FP will probably still be the way to go, if you get lucky.

Oh GOD I hope not!!! I never thought of that. That may be my favourite pre-show video. I would hate for it to go away.

To Any and All Mothers Out There, :thanks: For All That You Do. :grouphug:

Rob this is my first time writing anything on here so I hope I am doing it right! I just have to tell you that I have been loving your trip reports! You have a gift of making people feel as though they are living out the trip with you! I cried reading your first trip report with the little girl at Wishes. Beautiful! Can't wait to read the rest:)

I'm back to finish reading your TR. I'm on page 30. Three disappointments -- no Stacey, no wishes and now no It's a Small World??? Please tell me it gets better. Like, maybe you maxed out at Buzz Lightyear!? ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast of champions, Rob! The very first cinnamon roll I had from MSB was in 2007 and it was life changing! It was moist, delicious, had lots of glaze and was the size of my head! Anytime after that, they were just dry and smaller. My DH still enjoys them so we share instead of getting one for myself.

Ok...I'm caught up all the way to page 72. It's great that you got to have so many dismeets this trip. Don't worry about the accent (which I'm sure you do not have) or the eh's. Just please don't put the expression "right some good" out there! ::yes::

Jackie, first let me tell you how truly honoured I am to be your first DIS post. You absolutely did it right. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your kind words, and WELCOME!!! That Wishes story is one so personal to me that it would be virtually impossible to top it. And then, for me at least, I did on this very trip you're currently reading. And that is still to come.

YAY!!! Ugh, yeah, that was definitely a low point of the trip.

Haha, I had a lot of those types of breakfasts I must admit. My God yes, they are massive

guess who finally made it over this way YAYYYYYYY can't wait now I'm super excited

Well hello there stranger. It's getting close... :yay:

Wow, you were on FIRE!!! Oh my word YES, these are what really made the trip for me. And I'm not done yet...
Hehe, I have never used that expression, so I think we're good.

Maybe double check just to be sure. This is just something I'd heard. Are you looking at a September trip? I'm hoping for one as well, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Though if recent history holds, we'll just miss each other anyway, lol.

At some point we want to be back in September! I'm thinking maybe 2016 because it will be our 5 year anniversary, and we got married in September. So that would be nice to do :) But anytime I'm thinking about planning a Disney trip DH says, "Can we go in September? There aren't any people and there's free dining!":thumbsup2

Strawberry Shortcake sounds like the perfect way to start off your day! I approve of that breakfast ;) And the one at Sunshine Seasons is so good!

Haha I love your Frozen pictures! Yeah, I definitely prefer the photoshopping idea to waiting in that line for so long! maybe someday I'll get a FP+ to meet them.

Ooh, slushie time! I love the slushies in France!

I've never done September before. I'm a little worried about the heat and of course the good chance of rain. But yeah, low crowds and discounts can only be a good thing.

Oh my, yes indeed. In fact, I believe the world would be a better place if we all started our day with SB Shortcake.

Thanks Becky, I just could not do that line. Plus, it's outdoors and hot, and just NO. FP+ will be the only way this will happen for me for realsies.

Oh me too!!!! So exciting... and delicious!!

“JUST BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE IT, DOESN'T MEAN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT”
Day 7 – December 9, 2013 Part 2

Having just received the text signifying the promise of delicious Slushies, I raced my way over to France.
Sadly (otherwise known as annoyingly)… the kiosk wasn’t open yet.

NOT COOL!!

So, we headed back towards Italy, but stopped for a bit in America to catch a bit of the storyteller, in this instance, talking about Kwanza.

38.jpg

I roamed around just a little and took some photos of the nearby Santa’s Village, though I think “village” might be a stretch.

39.jpg

The rest of the DIS dining crew had already gotten a table over at Tutto Gusto, so we headed there next.

Arriving in Italy, another story teller was out.

41.jpg

And I with my short attention span again roamed a bit,

42.jpg

43.jpg

Before we headed inside.

44.jpg

I had never been in here before, so it was neat to see inside.

The crew consisted of the same group from the cruise, and it was so wonderful to see them all again.
I’m not a wine drinker, so I stuck with my water… for now… but some of the others sampled some wines and other offerings.

Sadly, I apparently left the camera idle for the majority of the time, but thankfully Brenda didn't, so I stole some of hers.

As a refresher going around the table from left to right…
Hunter, Paula (smile4stamps), Me, Philip, Barb (jabead), Linda (Linda67), Vicki (GoofySon'sMom), and Brenda (emmysmommy).

Emily was noticeably absent, as, bless her heart, she was back in the room working on a school project.
She is such a mature young woman that it’s so easy to forget that she was only finishing up high school.
I remember vividly traveling as a kid with homework in tow, so I completely empathized with her.

And besides, she wasn’t old enough to drink anyway… :rolleyes1

This place was actually quite cool and very quaint, and despite the fact that I ordered absolutely nothing,
That doesn’t mean I left with nothing.

We were all just chatting when I heard it… the unmistakable melody of Happy Birthday… but IN ITALIAN!!

44b.jpg

I was beyond touched and, not being one for letting a photo-op pass by, ESPECIALLY in World Showcase,

45.jpg

And what did these beautiful ladies bring with them?

46.jpg

47.jpg

I still had my container from my earlier School Bread, so I moved this beautiful truffle to its new portable home for later.

This was NOT a good decision.

After all that excitement, I got another wonderful surprise, as another very familiar DIS face entered the building.
So I made sure to get a photo with Rachel (rachel09985).

48.jpg

Rachel had been taking part in many of the DIS Dining meals, so I was hoping to run into her at some point.
This trip was seriously becoming a DISmeet explosion for me.

Then Brenda jumped in for a photo as well.

49.jpg

Then, well, I’m not sure what happened, other than getting one of my favorite photos of the trip.

You can’t plan this stuff folks.

50.jpg

And finally before leaving, one final group shot, with Rachel included this time.

50a.jpg

Once again I want to thank each and every one of them for allowing me to join in on a bit of their group fun.
It is truly my honour.

Finally, we were off to France to hopefully acquire that elusive Slushie, though we did stop outside for a group photo first.

50b.jpg

On the walk over, Santa and the wife were now out meeting in the USA,

51.jpg

And Belle was heading for a rest in France.

53.jpg

The really great news upon arrival was the kiosk was OPEN so we FINALLY got our slushies.

The last time I had one, I had gotten the Grey Goose Lemon, and so this time I decided on the Gran Marnier Orange.

54.jpg

55.jpg

Once we’d all collected our drinks, we made sure to pose first before diving in,
(And apparently Linda decided that one drink wasn’t enough, though I’m guessing the second belonged to Philip who was manning a camera)

55a.jpg

However, apparently one photo was my limit in regards to waiting…

55b.jpg

I actually MUCH prefer the Grey Goose I have to say, but this was still darn tasty, and again had quite a bit of alcohol.

We hung around and chatted for a bit and enjoyed our drinks.
Most of the Dining group had a reservation coming up at Via Napoli, so we parted ways here with plans to meet up later at DHS.
My next mission was now a quest for food.

TO BE CONTINUED…

So, we headed back towards Italy, but stopped for a bit in America to catch a bit of the storyteller, in this instance, talking about Kwanza.
We heard this same storyteller. She was really interesting and I learned a lot about Kwanzaa. :)

We were all just chatting when I heard it… the unmistakable melody of Happy Birthday… but IN ITALIAN!!

That was a very nice birthday surprise. Was this your best birthday - ever - or at least one of your best birthdays? It seems like the party never ended. ;) I can't wait to hear what happened to your birthday dessert. :)

Wow, that is some DIS royalty right there! Sounds like such an awesome time!

I agree that village seems like a stretch . Though I suppose "Santa's nearly empty quardened off area" doesn't really roll off the tongue.

The story tellers all sound quite neat!

What a fabulous DISmeet!! Looks like you guys had a great time at Tutto Gusto --- and I love the post-meal slushies! :thumbsup2

Great DIS meet again. I'm sure the school bread would've been a better option in the container than chocolate :rotfl2:
Love the candid photos too. Great WS cast member shoot except for the guy in the pic :rotfl:

It sounds like a wonderful time with great friends! :thumbsup2 I love how the DIS brings together so many people.

The picture of you drinking the slushie while everyone else is posing it up for the camera made me laugh! :rotfl:

Hey there Rob! Glad to be getting caught up. :)

I can now say that I'm in the strawberry shortcake fan club! I finally saw for myself what the commotion is all about with that lovely dessert - or rather breakfast as I called it one morning. Ohhhhh sooo good!

Glad you were able to "pose" with Anna and Elsa! Well done! All that and no wait.

So.... you heard slushies in France and were there post haste! Too bad the stand wasn't open yet. Bummer. Our pub crawl day was such fun. I'm so glad you joined! And even better that those nice Italian gals recognized a DisneyKid4Life birthday! Sorry I couldn't sing along in Italian. :)

Your updates bring back some great memories. :)

Awwww, what a great Dis meet! :goodvibes I am so happy (and quite a bit envious... ;)) that you were able to pack in so much time with so many other awesome people on the boards. For that reason (among many others, haha) I really want to get back in September... As rumor has it SO many people will be there again! :cloud9: just not yet sure when the next time I can swing a trip will be... But it must be sooner than later, that much I do know!!! ;)

I love the storytellers in Epcot! I especially enjoyed the Kwanzaa storyteller!

What a nice DISmeet! I have always wanted to check out Tutto Gusto!

I love your shirt!

I can't wait to have a slushie soon!!!!!!!!!!

Great update! Can't wait to find out where you ate!
