Watch Out DCL...oopsiDAISY is Having a Quackattack on the High Seas!!!

So, while I was slacking on the updates, I have also been slacking on the weekly activities...in other words, we have had NONE since our last movie night. :worried: While I pull myself together and get back on the ball with that, I bring you our Cars movie night! :cool1:

This one was so much fun. It is another one I had REALLY been looking forward to. The Quackattack family did not get to join us for this one since they had family in from out of town. We missed them, for sure. They, seriously, are SO. MUCH. FUN!! We love them. :grouphug:

Anywho... the invitation:

We started out with the first activity, because it would be used later for dessert...the kids made traffic light treats:

Eeek, Charity is just a blur in the picture. :confused3

Decorations:

Brian smoked a Boston, ahem "roast", (since the other word would probably get decorated with asterics on here, lol). Anywho, that baby was on the smoker all day, and it was GOOD!!! Without further ado, I bring you food porn!

Which one of these is not like the other? :scratchin Jillian does not like pickles. :thumbsup2

Hard to see from the picture, but the Mack and Cheese was made with wheel shaped pasta. :goodvibes

This was for decoration only, but the kids did eat them for breakfast the next morning. Can you guess what I was creating here?

After dinner we headed outside for the next activity, a few rounds of red light/ green light. Such an old and simple game, but the kids LOVED it. They ended up playing for over half an hour. ::yes:: I snapped LOTS of pictures, but will spare you and just show a few. :thumbsup2

After having our outdoor fun, we headed in for the movie and DESSERT:

Next month will be another holiday inspired movie night... :3dglasses

Love the zoo pictures...especially the giraffe sitting down.

What a lovely group of Easter pictures. I miss putting baskets together. :(

The kids look so nice all dressed up for church.

What a fun movie night. :)

Phew... I was, like, a week behind. Sigh... So sorry.

Loved all of the zoo pictures - I cannot believe how big the kids are getting. "Gangsta Gabe" cracked me up. LOL He is so funny!

And Charity with all of her mothering - I think her and V are a lot alike with that.

I think it's awesome that you carried your bag to the zoo... :lovestruc

Your Easter pictures are beautiful... Again - the kids are getting so grown up. I loved Jillian's maxi dress <---- I have a new thing for them now... As if I need another "thing" in my life. LOL

And, of course, your movie nights... They are simply the BEST ever!!! We are supposed to be in TN over Christmas (maybe and almost certainly) - we should really plan a movie night for then! :thumbsup2

Love ya Oopsi - and so sorry I've been scarce... I am putting in double-overtime in my sewing room, prepping for the BIG auction to pay off our trip... It's a bit crazy here.

D~

:cloud9:
Your Nights are so fantastic. I just LOVE them!!! when i am driving home from Disney in Sept. don't be surprised if your doorbell rings... :rolleyes1

Love everything and yes your kids are getting SO BIG!!! How is Gabe doing in baseball??

Love the FE! I wish I was crafty like that.

Your Cars movie night looked like lots of fun. What great memories for your children.

aaaah, so far behind (like always....)

I really love y'alls movie nights.....your family has such a great time together. It is really an inspiration to see that in the days where we are just scarfing down something as fast as possible in different rooms so we can get stuff done and get ready for bed.... I hope to be able to start movie nights and get some more family time in myself (someday...)

Woohoo, two more payments and time for fun savings!!! Since we got fd this week I only owe $500. :cool1::cool1::cool1: I already have the girls' spending money (Christmas gifts) and a gc that I got for opening a Disney visa for my shopping. So, I just have gas money, tips, and alcohol to save up for :thumbsup2, oh yeah....and the MNSSHP tickets....

That giraffe was so close, it was pretty awesome. Giraffes are my favorite, I think. :goodvibes

What??? :scared1: You don't do a basket for Mark? :confused3 Did you count our baskets? Three kids, four baskets....:rolleyes1 Yes, Brian is pretty spoiled. :lmao:

Gabriel is definitely a "poser" when it comes to getting his picture taken. :sad2:

I love Jillian's dress too. I have tried on maxi-dresses, but they just do not look good on me...at. all. :sad1: She just has those long legs that look great in a maxi-dress. :thumbsup2

Don't feel bad at all about dropping in and out... I do the same thing to you! :rotfl: You and I just have an understanding...we are busy, but we are friends~ the end! :goodvibes

This was SUCH a fun movie night. :) Just give me about a week's notice before you show up, so I can have enough food and activity supplies for the movie night! :thumbsup2

Okay, your question about Gabe and baseball made me do this... :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: You see, Gabe does not play baseball...this is just another one of his "costumes." :rolleyes1 He WILL, however, be starting basketball next year. :thumbsup2

Love the FE! I wish I was crafty like that.

I am so glad to see you back!!! I am TOTALLY not crafty...my MIL made that for us, and for that I am grateful! :goodvibes

You do such fantastic movie nights, too. They are quite addictive, aren't they? :thumbsup2

I love our movie nights. One thing we place a strong emphasis on in our family is the dinner table. It is the one time we all connect at the end of every day. It is something Brian and I both decided a long time ago to make a BIG priority for our family. There have been sad conversations, frustrating conversations, serious conversations, and PLENTY of silly conversations. We cherish every bit of it! :goodvibes

Congratulations on the FD..such a major score in trip planning!!! :cool1: Speaking of payments.... popcorn::

Yes, you read that title correctly...there has been some actual trip planning "stuff" taking place lately! :cool1:

While the Quackattack Family didn't get to come to our last movie night, we DID see them that weekend, and we made some decisions. :thumbsup2

We have all decided to roadtrip down to Florida together!! :dance3: Like, rent a big passenger van and ride TO.GE.THER for the 12 hour trip!!! :hyper: Yep, THAT is going to be a riot! :jumping1: And even better? We are leaving on the Thursday afternoon before the cruise, and staying at a hotel halfway down for the night. :cool2:We had initially planned to leave on Friday evening, so now we are leaving a day earlier! :yay: :woohoo: Soooooo, that puts our countdown at this:

In other news, I have all of our FE gifts except for the man gifts ready to go...for now. I have 20 of each gift for the girls, boys, and women. Once the sign up has been closed, and the group split up I may have to make a few extras. But still a great start. :) MIL is making the man gifts this summer. I cannot post pictures, or tell you what I have made since I have cruise mates following this thread. :rolleyes1 But let's just say I am very happy with how everything turned out. :thumbsup2 I will post pictures on the TR when we get home from the cruise! popcorn::

And to close this out, I made another cruise payment yesterday. So, our savings chart has a lot of red on it now!

Happy Tuesday everyone, and I will be back Friday to post our weekly Disney activity since I am actually doing one again this week. :rotfl2:

I'd like to be a fly on the wall on that ride. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, I bet you are going to have a blast with the drive down.

I'm glad you most of your FE gifts done. And how nice that mom is doing the "man" ones for you.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for all of that red!

Thank goodness for your chapter links! I was able to get all caught up. I love love love all of your movie nights. I've said it a million gazillion times that I wish I had done them when our kids were younger.

Wow! Your zoo is amazing! Our's is pretty bad and is in a less than wonderful part of town. It's been many many years since we've been because the neighborhood is so bad. It looks like ya'll had a blast there.

Call me crazy but I think that the two family road trip is going to be fun! Of course, we like road trips so thay may have something to do that. Don't all of the kids get along? If so, you should have it pretty easy. Give them some electronics, snacks and they'll be fine.

Gabe is destined for theater... Hope you didn't have any other hopes for him other then he will be in theater... :lmao:

20 gifts?!?!? :scared1: how does all that work?!?!

Congrats on all that RED! pretty soon you will need a new marker!
:cool1:
A BIG yay on going earlier!!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!

Congrats on making anther payment and for leaving a day early! This is going to be another EPIC trip.

Remind me, how long your cruise is...

Happy to hear that you have most of your gifts done - that's awesome! :woohoo:

Rofl at Mo's comment - I agree. :lovestruc

The road trip down is going to be such a riot. Seriously, Quackattack's DH keeps us cracked up when they come over for movie nights! :thumbsup2

This trip is getting closer, and I am getting SO EXCITED! :cool1:

We love our movie nights. It is something our whole family looks forward to every month. And they have become even more fun sharing them with our friends. :goodvibes

I seriously love our zoo. It is not as big as others across the country, but it is just laid out so beautifully, well maintained, and they host some really fun events, too.

I am so not surprised that you like the two family road trip idea. Ya'll are my kind of people. I love to road trip, too and the more the merrier. I actually traveled with a drama ministry for two years when I was younger...much younger. I basically shared a van with 5-6 other people and lived out of a suitcase travelling the United States. Made some GREAT memories! :drive:

Gabe is destined for theater... Hope you didn't have any other hopes for him other then he will be in theater... :lmao:

A BIG yay on going earlier!!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!

I can totally see Gabe doing something like that. He changes his "what I want to be when I grow up" from week to week.. Maybe I should suggest theater..then you can be someone different every week. :rotfl2:

So the Fish Extender... there are about thirty-something families signed up so far for our sailing. The group will be split, so that we exchange gifts with about twenty families. Some folks give gifts on multiple days, I will only give once, since we just cannot afford more than that. Sooooo, to get a good start, I have prepped 20 woman gifts, 20 girl gifts, 20 boy gifts. Once the groups are split we will get an actual list of who exaclty is in our group. So I may find out that say your family for instance, I would need to prep one other boy gift since you have two boys rather than one. You can google FE to get the "down low" if you are interested in more details. :thumbsup2

I am sooooo excited that the cruise is almost paid off...because after that we get to save for fun stuff, and we get to shop for the last of our costumes and our formal night dresses....SO EXCITED!!! :cheer2:

Congrats on making anther payment and for leaving a day early! This is going to be another EPIC trip.

We have a seven day cruise!!! What I love most is that it will be four days at sea, and three port days. There will be plenty of time to relax and explore the ship.

I am glad we get to split our trip down to Florida, too. We don't have to drive straight through. OMGoodness, I am just so excited for this trip!!!!!!! :dance3:

So, since I really slacked last month on the weekly activities, it is time to kick up again. Last night we had an edible activity....and they were DELISH!!!!

The kids had a blast making them...and I let them do the whole thing, start to finish. :thumbsup2

I told them to make a funny face for this picture:

And if Mickey Pizza wasn't enough happy...we had Root Beer Floats to go with it. ::yes::

The kids really liked this. Later in the evening we played Uno Attack together. Charity came up to me before bed time and said "Thank you for tonight, Mommy." THAT is why I do this stuff! :goodvibes

I love it!!!! it does look DELISH!!!!

Yes. ::yes:: When your child is HAPPY is the best moments of a Mom. Best feeling in the world when they show it and appreciate it all!!!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's day!!!

I had to work for a couple hours this past Saturday, as our University had commencement. Brian took the kiddos to one of the Build and Grow Workshops at Lowes. They did this last year, and loved it. So, they were excited to do it again. I ended up leaving work just as they were getting started, so I got to be there for a bit, too. It was great fun. They built flower delivery trucks for Mother's Day. Gabe did his for me, and Charity built hers for her Nana (Brian's mom). Jillian was just there to help, but really enjoyed it, too.

Oh hey, judging from this picture that Charity took without my knowledge, it bacame a family affair! :rotfl:

Gabe's finished product:

And Charity decided to leave the stickers off so that she could decorate it with markers at home:

Fun stuff! :thumbsup2 This weekend is MOVIE NIGHT, and the Quackattack Family gets to join us again! :dance3:

What a cute Mother's Day project! They have those sort of things at our local Lowe's too but we've never taken advantage of it. Yay for the upcoming movie night!

HOW FUN!!!! the flower truck are so adorable!!! What no picture of the finished product with markers?!?! :confused3
:lmao:

OHHHHHHHH MOVIE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the pizza....so cute.

And what a nice thing at Lowe's does. I'm not sure ours has ever done that. :confused3 Nice job by the kids.
