first trip do-over, the TR: or.....sorry, i got stuck in a tour group! UPDATED 3-14

Kurt (my hubby) loves those green army men characters!!!

Sorry you didn't get to ride TSM (shh..dont' tell the other Dissers- I think it's overrated anyways).

Love that Hannah got called for pixie dust with the show! Yhea!!

And I love B&B show too- although we did not get to it this go around. Belle is my favorite princess.

The Olaf looks awesome!

Mmmmm.... I would like a Mickey pretzel right now! Why are they some much better when shaped like Mickey?

I want to draw Olaf! As soon as I saw that I told Bob, he had to watch Charlotte while I take the class! I need to do that.

How neat for Hannah to welcome everyone to the little mermaid show. She looks like she felt really special! That is the magic that makes Disney worth it!

Too bad about TSMM, but I always say its not a bad thing, its a reason for another trip!

What a cute moment for Hannah at the LM show!

LOL love the blue drink proof picture!

I love those little moments too when you're just enjoying yourself and soaking everything in. It's easy to forget to do that when you're trying to rush from one ride or character to another!

Yet again, DH drew an amazing pic!

Looks like a great DHS day! Too bad about TSMM being down though. That is so awesome that Hannah got to be “first mate” - I bet she was riding high after that! Isn’t the B&tB show great? We haven’t seen it in a while - it’s so hard to convince Willow to stop for shows even though she always loves them when we do stop.

Yay, I'm all caught up!

I love the pirate and mermaid makeovers! Especially the mermaid. I woulda been all over that when I was little.

We didn't really explore the food stuff at POR or POFQ when we were there for our honeymoon, so it's pretty neat seeing what they have (and going "Dangit!") Although they probably didn't have the beignets when we went in 2010...

I'm jealous that Rich got to draw Stitch and Olaf. We ended up with Goofy for our class. Baloo was hoping for a princess, lol!

I love the Beauty and the Beast show they have there, because it reminds me of seeing the stage show of it (which was my first Disney stage show <3 ), but we didn't have time (or think Stormy would have the patience) this trip. When we go again, he'll be over 3, so hopefully he'll sit a little better! *crosses fingers*

Haha, I know my hubby wishes that! :rotfl:

We used Olivia's "magic shoes" to get her on Star Tours and they let her on fine the first time and she LOVED it sooo much, then she went to get on it again immediately afterwards and they wouldn't let her on bc the CM had switched!! That was the only time the whole trip she cried! :sad2:

I wanted a Mickey pretzel sooo bad last time, but every time we would pass a place that sold them we were sooo full from our meals that I never did get one, hopefully this next time I will!!

i'm pretty sure DH does too, but he just won't admit it! doesn't he know I know him better than that by now?!? :rotfl: really, they should just have a class for all the dads in the crowd. you know they all would be geeking out about it!

i was worried maddie would be too short for stuff and kept measuring her before we left. i'm glad she was tall enough to get on, since she liked it so much. when she couldn't ride stuff, she was so sad! she was our little daredevil this trip.....might have to look for magic shoes for our next trip!

those mickey pretzels are so good, but SO filling! it was a good snack to share. i still want to try a crème cheese one sometime!

hahaha, blue tongues....poss. my FAVORITE picture of y'all!!! ;)

yeah...i should probably be embarrassed to post that, but i'm not! :lmao:

bummer about Toy Story being down as well as Muppets. Also stinks that they made you sit int he back even though you had FP, but I guess that it the policy after the show starts. Would have been good if they gave you the option of using the FP at another show instead though

That Olaf picture came out great! Glad they are adding some newer characters to the animation class

Those "poison" apples look so good!

i always think the apples look so good, but never get one because it looks impossible to eat without a knife!

i love that olaf picture! i think going to the animation class again is the thing DH is looking forward to doing most on our next trip.

Haha I know my husband wishes he could have done Jedi Academy! How sweet that Hannah got to introduce the Little Mermaid show! That's awesome. And hopefully makes up for the mean CM that wouldn't let you use your FP at Beauty and the Beast! I feel like I saw a rumor that show was going away sometime this year... I'm not sure though I could be wrong. I loved that sweets store too, so many fun things in there. Great drawing of Olaf!

it was so cute to see her up there, talking into the microphone and being so serious about doing a good job. we had an awesome time at DHS!

i didn't know they might be getting rid of B&tB! glad we did it then. i guess it has been there quite awhile, it could be time to try something new.

oh, that sweets store! i knew we'd be going in as soon as Madison glued herself to the window! :rotfl2:

DH really enjoyed those drawing classes. he's a great artist--even if he doesn't think so. i'm excited we got some cool art to hang up from it! :thumbsup2

i really liked those green army men too! i'm going to have to get a picture of DH with them next time. he loved them as a kid!

yeah.....i want to try Toy Story, but i don't get the hype over it. we have it at home to play on our wii and, even though it's super cute and fun, we barely play it. i honestly think i was more excited to see the queue than do the ride.

i agree--missing a ride is always a good reason to go back! :rotfl:

Hannah still talks about getting to be the first mate! she still takes her card out to look at it and (even though she swears she doesn't like princesses) she'll say something about how cool it is that ariel and eric signed her card. it's such an awesome memory!

i love rich's olaf drawing! i don't think i'd do anywhere near as good as he did, but it'd still be fun to take the class sometime.

and i think they must sprinkle all the mickey shaped food with pixie dust or something because they always taste better!!

oh that drink picture--i clearly have no problem embarrassing myself! :lmao:

i love those memory making moments at the parks too. i always get so worked up about getting to the next thing that i love it when we just sit and enjoy and slow down!

we had so much fun at DHS this trip! i always love that park, but it just seemed like a great day there this trip.

i think we saw more shows this trip there than last time. the girls seemed to enjoy them, but we'll probably skip some of them next visit. we'll tour the park willow style! :thumbsup2

we really liked B&tB. we've seen the lion king at the fox theater here in st louis and Aladdin at the muny (open air theater). i love the Disney stage shows! tarzan is coming this summer, we might have to check that out!

Hannah would have been so excited if rich drew goofy--he's her favorite! I've never seen anyone get to draw a princess. do they do that? that'd be awesome to draw tiana!!

those makeovers at the pirate league were so fun! you should totally get a mermaid makeover....i mean, you should totally take stormy to get a pirate makeover and if they happen to turn you into a mermaid while you're there....:thumbsup2

Hold up! You've never done TSM???
Ok. The wii game is dumb. Don't judge the ride by the wii game! Lol ;)
It's super fun cause it's so fast paced and competitive and it shoots blasts of air at you when you pop balloons. Lol. Honestly the speed is what makes it fun. I giggle the whole ride (except when I'm super focused on breaking plates!) lol
You seriously gotta ride it to understand!

So far I've seen B&tB, and Baloo and I have seen Mary Poppins and the Lion King. I really wanna see Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. Somedaaaaay. Stuff doesn't come to Detroit very quickly (we only just got Lion King in Nov), I think it'd probably be easier for us to drive to Toronto or Chicago for stage shows. Tarzan would be awesome to see. =D

I think I did call out Tiana, and she said that's one they aren't allowed to do, but offered Merida, and I went "OMG YES" and everyone else went "Ew, no." WHAT KIND OF CLASS WAS I IN?!? Our choices were Genie, Goofy and....I forget the last. But the vote won with Goofy. Darn my class. When we go again next year, I will be suggesting Olaf. Or maybe Mushu.

Haha, when he's older we just might do that... :rolleyes1

no, we've never done TSM. I know, it's so wrong! the first time we went with the girls, I was unaware of the TSM sprint and by the time we got over there, the FPs were gone, then this time it was down until almost before we left and by then we'd used our anytime FP. don't worry though--it's so on the list next time! :thumbsup2

well, if you ever need to come to St. Louis for a stage show, we'll come with you!

what a bummer that they can't do tiana in the animation class. I've wondered how they decide those things. how could people NOT want to draw merida? I love her! you were so in the wrong class! mushu would be awesome to do too! my plan is to just keep sending DH to the classes and get lots of cool art to hang in our house! the girls already have a Disney wall in their room (princess pictures from our first trip, the castle pic they give you at CRT and a cell from peter pan that the family I nanny for gave us. I want to paint, stitch, something a canvas that says "when you wish upon a star..." to hang over it all)--Disney characters drawn by daddy could definitely find a place on that wall!

Alright...I'm not gonna hound you bc you've been busy creating things for me, lol... and I know it's coming up on ADR time and the official schedule release, buuuuuuuuut I DO miss your updates here!! I wanna hear about the rest of the day!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :rotfl:

i'm finally back....I think that I was avoiding posting this part, because it's the last part of our last day at the parks. I guess all good things have to come to an end, right?

day 6/part 6

we were going somewhere new for us--50s primetime! i had heard all sorts of great things about that place and the food looked delicious! i was excited!

we had quite a wait for some reason. we wasted some time making a trip to the bathroom. the girls played with the buttons on this for awhile. finally they asked rich what it was. he told them it was a radio and people listened to music on it. hannah actually turned around to look at him and said ".....nnooooo!"

we waited so long (it's good i didn't time it because i probably would have been annoyed) that madison finally camped out on rich's lap and hannah did what every kid does...

when we finally got called back, our waitress was pretty fast and we ordered quickly. i was a little bummed though. our waitress seemed crazy busy and wasn't as into her character. the waiter for the tables behind us was hilarious! he even had a crazy poem he'd tell everyone about what not to do at the table (one line was no yelling, which of course he yelled). then he'd leave a stack of dishes and napkins and say "pat's back there cookin and i'm not doing everything. you get this table set!" then he'd run off to get drinks or whatever. he was awesome. the waitress for the tables on our other side was funny too. she kept yelling at the bus boy for leaving dirty dishes on her clean tables. she'd clean it off and he'd put more on. then she started coming around and taking everybody's dirty dishes and piling them up on tables so he'd have to come back and clean them again. she also started making fun of all the things they show on the tv's and complaining about how many times she seen these reruns in 16 years. she was also all over everyone in her section for putting elbows on the table. i had my elbows on the table the whole time and our waitress never said anything.

rich loved this resturant and the food---i just can't even tell you how great it was! we will so go back! rich and i both had the same thing, the sampler plate with pot roast, chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggies. someone else brought our plates out to us and when she did, she sort of just slapped them down onto the table and said "leftovers!" it was cute. we had awesome desserts too--some sort of boston creme pie parfait. yummy!! the girls got ice cream with m&m's and mickey sprinkles. maddie just ate her m&m's, crazy girl. we all left stuffed and happy!

we were in the restuarant for quite some time and it was dark when we came out. there were extra magic hours that night. our original plan had been to stay and do the disney jr dance party, try to do muppets 3D and go play in the honey i shrunk the kids play area. however, by the time we were done eating, we were just done. i'm sad now that we didn't just push through and at least go to the play area and muppets, but all rich and i could really think about was getting back to the room. we walked slowly out of the park, got right onto a bus and headed back to POR.

in case anyone is wondering, yes, we skipped tower of terror and rockin rollercoaster. hannah was not interested in doing either of those, rich wasn't in the mood to ride and i didn't want to go alone. i guess we'll just do them next time when we can all go together hopefully.

we got back to the resort and spent a little time in the hotel getting some last minute souvenirs and listening to yee haw bob in the lobby. he's hilarious! i think the girls would have really liked it, but they were too tired to enjoy it.

back to the room we finally went. we had quite the collection of stuffies by this time...

we all got ready for bed, packed up a little, watched the firework headboards, and went to sleep......our last night in a royal room.....so sad! :sad1:

How funny!! I have a pic of Olivia sitting in front of that same tv in 50s, too funny how kids just do that! Lol...

Stinks your waiter wasn't as into his character, same exact thing happened with us and we had a long wait as well. But like you, we still want to go back bc the atmosphere was great and the food was delish.

So sad to be leaving the parks :(

But that's ok bc we will be back soon!! :)

the saddest day ever.....

we didn't have to get up too early this morning. our flight didn't leave until 1:30 pm. we got dressed and packed and headed out of the room at about 10.

yes, i let madison eat some of the sucker she'd been working on all week. we had to leave disney....she needed some sweetness! and yes, her shoes are on the wrong feet--we're working on it...:rotfl2:

we went to the cafe and used up the rest of our credits on breakfast stuff. it was pretty crowded in there. there were lots of runs at disney that weekend and some of the runners were just getting back and going in to eat. it was fun to see them in their tutus and with their medals. i walked a half marathon years ago and remember how hard it is. i was proud of them all!

of course we made ONE MORE bathroom break (which took forever--hannah was in there singing to herself--great accoustics, i guess?), then dropped our stroller off at bell services. we only waited a few minutes for the bus to the airport....

and our disney trip was over.

well, not quite. by the time we got to the airport, we had a text that our flight was delayed an hour. about 30 minutes after that, we got another message that we were delayed again. i didn't think we'd ever leave florida and was sure it was a sign that we were supposed to go back to disney!

our wait wasn't so bad. i napped for awhile and the girls found some boys to play with that were also on our flight. they were just getting back from a disney cruise and told us all about it. i can't wait to do ours now! unfortunately, our plane finally arrived from key west (what? how is a plane delayed in key west? someone wouldn't get off the beach?), we boarded and came home.

here is a picture of the autographs we got on the trip...

of course, we missed some stuff but we had a super trip. it was lots of fun, we had tons of pixie dust sprinkled over us, we made some great memories and got to spend family time together. i'd say it was a perfect first trip do over!

and, best compliment ever, rich was telling his parents about the trip and actually said that he had a great time, was never bored, and that i had done a really great job planning everything. what?!!? not that rich doesn't give me compliments, but it was so nice to hear him say he had such a great trip and that he appreciated all the planning and stuff i'd done. aawwww, what a guy! :lovestruc

NO! Seriously? The trip is almost over??? :(

 That is hilarious about the radio!!! My mom and I were recently trying to explain to Willow about how, when I was a kid, phones were attached to the wall with a cord, and you couldn’t just carry them with you everywhere you went. I don’t think she got it.

That’s a shame about the long wait at 50s. That can be so hard with kids - sounds like the girls did great though! The food sounds great though!! And at least you got to watch the other tables’ servers put on a show.

You know you made the right decision to leave the park - when you’re done at Disney, you’re DONE. At least that’s how it works for me. AND Willow!

DH STILL talks about how great the food was at 50s! i'm rethinking our park days for our next trip, but if we end up at HS, we'll definitely go back. it's just so good!

it is so sad to leave! and I realized that, even though I remember looking around at things as we were leaving, I didn't really take many pictures. I really was sad to be going....but, you're right! can't wait to get back soon!! :cool1:

Hannah and maddie had the same "what are you talking about?" experience when we saw the phone booths at epcot. they just couldn't understand phones in a box, with a cord, that don't play music or take pictures. :rotfl:

the food was amazing! we'll go there again even if our waitress isn't as fun. just thinking about that pot roast is making me hungry now!

you're right--when you're done, it's best to just head out. I always regret that decision later and think we could have just sat down for a minute to rest and squeezed in some more things, but you're right. we avoided meltdowns and have an excuse to go back! :thumbsup2

Ugh - I'm so sad that it's over. Thanks so much for sharing your trip! I hope you will do a cruise report. :thumbsup2

I absolutely ADORE the signature picture frame. I may totally have to steal that idea…….. ;)

So sad to see the end come!! What a fabulous trip you had! And I love, love, love the picture frame! What a great keepsake!

I'm glad you had great things to report as far as food is concerned at 50's Prime Time! This is a "first" for us on our upcoming trip! By chance, do you remember what cut of chicken it was? I'd love to try it, but I CANNOT do dark meat! Makes me wanna gag just thinking about it! And I'd hate for my cousin to make me finish my meal to get dessert! Ha ha!

Awe the end is so sad! But you are going back!:cool1: So no reason to be sad.

Taking it easy before you leave is the way to go in my opinion! We went to the magic kingdom before our flight last time but I was so sad to leave, I cried! We have never done that before and I don't think I will again!

50's is so good! Its too bad you did get a fun waitress, but it sounds like the food made up for it.

Charlotte keeps putting her shoes on the wrong feet too! I try to tell her they are on the wrong feet and she says silly mommy this is how they go. Someday she will put her shoes on the right feet!

Sounds like a great trip! I have really enjoyed reliving it with you.

I will so be doing TRs for any future trips--I really love doing them! I just hope everybody follows me over to the cruise thread.

someone on here told me about the picture frame idea and I really loved it. we all look at it when we walk by it in the hallway. the only thing that bothered me about it was that it was big, a little hard to carry around and I worried about it getting bent or wet when we were in the parks so I always had it all packed up and covered in plastic. but, it's a great souvenir, that's for sure!

eewww--hate dark meat! i'm pretty sure it must have been a (bone in) breast, because I ate it. if it wasn't white meat, I would have been giving it to rich. i'd love to try the meatloaf too, it sounded so good. and the pot roast and veggies were delicious! i'm sure you'll love everything there!

i'm so excited to be planning another trip! been doing some thinking about changing some plans....

yeah, I don't think I could do a park day and then have to go to the airport. it would make me so stressed out, worrying about getting to our flight, that I wouldn't have fun at the park. tears could (who am I kidding...WOULD) be involved.....

Hannah did the same thing with her shoes too. we always wondered if, since their shoes are pretty roomy, maybe it didn't hurt their feet and so they were fine with them on either way? it drives rich crazy because it makes his feet hurt to see them with shoes on the wrong feet.

thanks for following along, my friend! can't wait to do another one!
