YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

The tour of the castle suite was wonderful, but I look forward to the transfer to Bay Lake Towers. I loved our one and only week at BLT. I dream about staying there again one day.:goodvibes

Your early morning YC photos are just beautiful!! That's one of the best times of day at that resort...so peaceful!

Solo time in DHS sounds really fun!!!

Yikes! I'm getting behind with everyone's TR including my own. Let's see if I can make some progress here and even get an update posted. I know shocker!

Another great update. Cant wait to hear if Emmy was awake and packed. Morgan wouldn't have been.:rotfl2:

Hmmm.... I suppose there's a 50/50 chance of success. Knowing teens I should probably say about a 40/60 percent chance of compliance!

My dear friend, I only wish I looked half as good as you when I was all hot and sweaty from a humid day at Disney. You look terrific in the photopass pictures.

Well, if you are only going to do one ride, you picked the best one in my opinion. :thumbsup2

And you are at Disney...you are supposed to "cheat" a little. I think you are entitled.

Uhhh ok, here's a better photo showing the "glistening" version of myself!

DSCN7597.jpg

I agree, if I only had one ride to pick at DHS, it will always be ToT. Definitely my favorite.

I hope you are enjoying your Disney time this week.

So let's do some Disney Maths
Walking from the boardwalk area to DHS on a hot day = 2 x carrot cake cookies
Therefore my friend you are 100% in the negative on your daily calorie calorie count - you could have had two !!

I like your math Linda! When it comes to those cookies I'm completely ok with justifying just one more.

That was nice that you let Em sleep in and you enjoyed some solo time at Hollywood Studios. Bummer about the blister! I hope it didn't keep you from enjoying the rest of your day. I had this huge blister form on one of our trips and it was miserable until it finally busted open (sorry if that is gross, I'm a nurse so nothing bothers me) and then it was instant relief! Those carrot cake cookies are really good, but I think a cupcake from starring rolls would've been calling my name louder!

Heck, I'm pretty pain resistant so a blister's not going to slow me down. Well, it may slow me down but it's not going to stop me! Heck, I'm a mom to 4 and worked in urgent care for a period of time so I'm not squeamish about those things.

The Cupcake vs Carrot cake cookie delimma. Tough choice but I had both during the trip so the cookie won out at that moment. Plus Starring Rolls had a long line so I went the path of least resistance.

Looks like a pretty decent morning even with not a lot getting done! Lol. Love all the pp's pictures!

And I say do a Dec trip report!! Always a fun way to relive the magic! Lol. Mine would be started but it has continuing character interactions and stories from the tail end of Sept's tr so I've got to wrap that up first!!

At the very least I had a good morning walk!

Argh! I need to find time to get that Dec. TR started. I just wrapped my DR so I have less excuses. It's crazy busy right now with work and I'm going to be traveling in the next few weeks so I think I'll wait a little longer. HOWEVER, since you've not started your December TR yet I feel a little better! :thumbsup2

It's the packing, unpacking, and re-packing that keeps me from doing a split stay. We are definitely not organized in the room though-tiaras and princess wands everywhere!

Sounds like a nice morning!

If you can't have a cookie for breakfast on vacation, when can you? Great idea!

Split stays aren't for everyone that's for sure. I just have too many favorite resorts to choose one! Although my tiaras and wands pretty much stay in my bag! :rotfl2:

I like your thinking! Vacation eating, for real!

Beautiful pre-sunrise photos! Wow, what a gorgeous view!
Very nice of you to let Em sleep, but I am more like you in Disney, up early and ready to go!
Walking to DHS, I am still so in awe of this phenomenon, I really need to stay at the Boardwalk or something in that area. So, so cool.
Super hot, humid and a blister? I think you did pretty well considering the conditions!
Love the PP pics, especially with Mike Wazowski! I haven't seen that one before!
I think that anything you eat in Disney is low cal, even the carrot cake cookies. ::yes:: That's what I tell myself. That plus all that walking should un-do any ill effects of sugar!

Thanks Wendy. I don't have your photo skills but it's all I've got! It was a beautiful early morning.... definitely worthy of a few photos.

If it wasn't Disney I don't think I'd be so forgiving of those horrid conditions! ;)

When I saw my PP photos I saw that Mike W photo, I didn't know they had that either. It is certainly perfect for the theme.

Yep, I tell myself that as well. Sugar = energy right? :rotfl2:

Blisters on vacation are the worst! During our trip I wore shoes I had been wearing every day for months to try to avoid a blister, but it was so bad that I walked barefoot from Test Track to the bus stop after evening EMH on our Epcot day and I nearly stayed in the hotel for our entire DHS day until my husband walked to the gift shop and bought me flip flops to wear the rest of the trip.

Oh no! That's a show stopper blister! Thank goodness for the gift shops that sell footwear. Sounds like those flip flops were welcome relief. I was at a conference in Vegas a few months ago that involved a LOT of walking and my heels were killing me so I bought some flats. They gave me horrible blisters on my heels but that was actually better than the heels. Our poor feet get abused sometimes. Ouch!

Well, one ride and one snack is better than no park time at all! Your pictures from that morning are gorgeous!

Sorry about your blister though! Those are the worst.

Thank you Marissa. Although I didn't get a lot accomplished, it was worth it for the cookie alone! :)

YES YES YES!!!! December TR!!! Not gonna lie. There are times when you post an update here and I keep thinking... OOH what December day is this? I wonder where I was. Oy, yeah I'm a little slow.

I actually now am a big fan of the walk over to DHS. Maybe I would be a little less so in that heat, but still, such a lovely walk. Plus the added convenience of letting Em sleep while you explore.

Wow, ToT at 30 minutes already??? Oh and thank you for pointing out the photo was from the CD. I could not figure out for the life off me why it was so dark all of a sudden.

Patience grasshopper! I just came up with another excuse for a delay....I'm going to be traveling in the next few weeks so I'm thinking I'll wait just a little longer. But I know what you mean. I confuse myself when I post my live dining updates from December and I go to my August photobucket albums and I'm confused because I don't see the photos I expected to see.

Hey, I'm not like a regular mom, I'm a cool mom! (Mean Girls reference!) I know Em appreciated sleeping in.

Yep, it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks ToT is the best ride! Well, besides all those running to TSM. ;)

Blisters are not your friend, especially not in WDW. Ouch Brenda. :sad2:

But how fun to get into HS by yourself, even for just one ride and a cookie and some photos. ;)

I'm a trooper! Having birthed 4 kids I can handle a blister or too! :lmao:

Thanks Kelli. Some solo time made more valuable by the reward of a carrot cake cookie. Yum.

Eeeep, I got so far behind again. I HATE when that happens! But I am so glad I'm catching up again because wow... the tour. It's just amazing.

That's SO AWESOME that you guys got KEYS TO THE CASTLE! I would find a way to go and get someone to print my name on it, hahaha. Seriously thought, how cool... 7000 people, that's amazing.

No worries. With as popular as you are young lady I know it's hard to keep up with everyone else considering the traffic for your TR! :)

Yeah, if we had our names on those castle room keys we'd be displaying them all over the place! We'd have to ask people...can you tell that we toured the DS? ;)

Okay, moving to the intermission... SO AWESOME that you guys stayed at the GC! After getting us a room there last November at the Villas, I have been SPOILED when it comes to going to Disneyland. Ugh, it's just such a wonderful resort to stay at. We'll be in Disneyland again in May, and we're staying not on property, but close by. It's kind of bumming me out a bit, though we are planning (fingers crossed it works out again) to stay at the VGC in November again, as Matt's parents' want to go to Disneyland with us and stay there. I just hope I can get us either a one-bedroom or two studios at the seven-month mark! It's normally rare to be able to get a studio at VGC because there are so little DVC rooms there.

It is very unlikely that I will ever stay in one of the villas - I'll just have to enjoy the regular rooms. I can only dream of those villas! Good luck on getting your preference for November.

I love your on-ride photo of Indiana Jones, hahaha. That's about accurate because it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a photo while on that ride! But that being said, I LOVE it. It's truly up there for being one of my absolute favorite Disney attractions between both DLR and WDW. And the theming is just amazing, too.

Being that I'm not an exceptional photographer it wasn't hard to fail. :p

Here's where I knew this wasn't going to work on the Indy Ride... my first photo was a bomb.
DSCN5312.jpg

Okay, La Brea Bakery looks SO good! Matt and I thought about going there once during our November trip but then didn't. Now I kind of want to because it looks fabulous!

La Brea Bakery is a good choice if you want a sit down breakfast outside the park. Honestly, I prefer Carnation Café but this is good.

Oh the Cove Bar! That's another place we have yet to go but want to. I'm making notes over here since your updates are totally reminding me, haha.

You must go there! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Any time you feel like going off track, DO IT! I love reading about your time at DLR! I'm planning on writing a TR for our November trip there once I can actually get my WDW one done. But I love seeing WDW friends go to DLR, it's so much fun to read about!

Well, thanks, I'm glad that you enjoyed the DL intermission! I'm always interested in DISers that visit both parks and their perspective as well. As a matter of fact, I have a DISmeet at DL tomorrow.... I may insert another update.

I'm amazed at the people who job around the BoardWalk when it's like already 90 and humid out. UGH. I seriously was shocked when we'd come out of Beach Club Villas and just see people running around with no sweat. THAT IS NOT NORMAL, hahaha.

Seriously, I'm amazed as well. Some people are just super human. Or super motivated. That's not me.

I think your morning at HS was successful when it involves a ride on ToT AND that amazing Carrot Cake Cookie! Oh my goodness, I'm a fan of those. We skipped them last trip, but I am making sure we get them again next trip. Or at least I am!

YAY! I'm all caught up, and I'm happy about it. Sorry for the long comment, hahaha.

Considering your TR focal point is the ToT tour I'm guessing that you are a fan of that ride! I agree, a successful morning by my standards since it included my favorite ride and my favorite snack.

Yay! Thanks for getting caught up! :yay:

Cake pops!! They're so cute & yummy!

That balloon vendor seems pretty shy. I'd be right there with ya, cast member. They were just offering you a unique shot with balloons. :)

Oh yacht club, you are completely gorgeous. Great sunrise shots! When I see these I think wow, she gets up early for being used to pacific standard time! Way to make the most of your disney time, Brenda!

I love all your cute solo shots in MGM. ;) I feel your blister pain. It's no fun, that's for sure! You certainly earned that cookie, especially when you pair it with a hot & humid Florida day. 2 cookies next time!

I'm now a fan of those tiny treats!

That balloon CM was the hide and seek variety. I don't think she'll hit the top sales mark but she'll probably be the coolest of the bunch hiding in the shade.

I'm lucky that I adjust to the 3 hr time change rather quickly otherwise those 6am wake-ups would be really brutal.

Ha ha! Yes, I agree, that cookie was just rewards for that long walk and the blister. We'll just call it medicinal!

Well, you certainly make "drenched" look good!

I try not to worry about calories on vacation, especially at Disney. With all the walking, weight gain is usually minimal.

30 minute wait on ToT during EMH?!

Best pool in all of Disney!

Reference photo above!! Thank goodness none of the shots were close up! Those I'm NOT sharing. :rotfl:

Yeah, despite walking a lot at Disney a few extra pounds still seem to find their way onto my hips! I'm just not lucky like that.

Oooh I like the early morning Disney pics! The couch in you room looked so peaceful and relaxing. Don't you hate it when you find short cuts in the end instead of the beginning? Better late than never at all I suppose. :lmao:
Ugh! Foot blisters and floppy bandaids are no fun at all! Poor Brenda. And that is one thing I hate is sweating in morning Florida humidity...yuck! We get the same thing here in Texas and I hate it too!
ToT oh my goodness I have not been on this since I was a teenager! I want to again so much too....just need courage to ride myself since no one in my family will ride with me lol!
So happy to see that I am not the only one in the carrot cake cookie breakfast club:thumbsup2 That sounds really good right now too. Great update Brenda!!

Thanks, it was a peaceful and relaxing early morning.

Ha ha! If I'd have been curious about those stairs sooner it would have been a timesaving shortcut.

Ahhh the humidity. NOT a friend to women with hair issues. I figure why bother doing my hair if it's going to look like I just stepped out of a steam shower? I have not curl, frizz or body to my hair so it's just limp in the humidity.

My hubby won't ride ToT so I rely on Em to join me. Although she hated that ride when it first opened in CA. It took her years to decide to ride with me.

Thanks! Glad I'm not judged for my "breakfast" choice. ;)

Calories don't count when you're in Disney....:rotfl2: Or, at least, that's what I tell myself.
Alex and I always joke that the reason we eat so healthy at home is so that we can eat the stuff we like on vacation. If you're allowed to bank desserts throughout the year, we sure do that. :lmao:

Besides, that carrot cake cookie looks too good to pass up. And if you were craving it, it was better to get it while you still could. Rather than carry that craving home with you. :confused3

Ouch, blisters can be extremely annoying. It's a wonder something so small can cause such pain. I hope it didn't interfere with park touring too much.

I wouldn't call your morning a waste. You took a nice long walk. In the FL summer heat, at that! And you were able to go on a headline.
Not to mention, you also let your daughter sleep in for a few extra hours. That certainly counts. ::yes::

I love your logic! I rarely eat dessert when not on vacation so it makes perfect sense to "bank it". ::yes::

Nope, I soldiered on. A busted open blister wasn't going to interfere with my plans! I may have walked a little funny after that. :p

I like your perspective, at least I let my kid sleep in, that counts for something. :thumbsup2

LOVE a quiet, peaceful morning!

That walk to DHS from YandBC is nice but not so nice with a blister! :sad2: Long way to go!! Ouch! And it can get kind of sweaty in the humidity/heat. But I can still walk it faster than the boat can get me there! ;)

I didn't know they had a special photopass with Mike out in front of the studios!!

Moving day!! and now you are to the point in your trip where we arrive to the wonderful world of Disney!! I will be paying particularly close attention to your photos to see if our group is ever spotted in your backgrounds. That would be too funny! :upsidedow

Half way to DHS is when I had gone too far to turn around and get new band-aids and I really wanted to make park open... so I just toughed it out. I prefer to walk just for the exercise so if it is timed right I can beat the boats too. But the heat and humidity that early in the morning I definitely could have done without.

Oh, I forgot your dates. Yes, we now start the last 7 of our 15 day trip. I'm always curious when I know we're in the same parks as other DISers when I read their TRs. You never know... I had a DISer randomly in one of my dining report photos before. :)

To me, a morning along with TOT and a Carrot Cake cookie sounds better than any other "typical" morning! :thumbsup2

I absolutely agree! Just being in Disney makes it atypical! :)

I love the walkway between DHS and Epcot, but I'm sorry it was a sweaty/painful walk for you!! Not fun.
Any morning that involves a carrot cake cookie is spectacular to me!

I think that carrot cake cookie could be considered medicinal considering the morning! :) Other than the heat, humidity, and a huge blister, it was a pleasant walk. :lmao:

sorry to hear about the blister - they are the worst at Disney! Ok, not the worst, I mean, there is probably some combination of thunder storms and Brazilian tour groups and rude CMs and monorails stuck trains stuck with you on them and your boat getting stuck in the middle of It's a Small World .... but you get the idea

and any morning that includes a ride on TOT is a pretty successful morning :thumbsup2

I love your perspective. Considering it was a minor annoyance, yes, not the worst. Definitely worse would be staying strapped into Stitch's Great Escape and more belches in the face.

You sound like Mackie and I on our last trip. Iiiiit's time to pack up again and make our next move to our next resort. Oh the trials of the privileged Diser life.

We are truly blessed beyond measure. :)

I agree! I don't know if we'll ever top 4 resorts in one trip but it was actually something we enjoyed.

I have a feeling on our next trip Mackie will probably be doing some sleeping in like Em does. It might be nice to have my mornings to myself like that. Although....Mackie likes being able to get to all the rides in the early morning hours like I do.
Speaking of, the fact you are an early morning riser on WDW vaca's is going to bode well for us traveling together. I too am an early morning riser, it's nice to know someone else will be enjoying the early mornings right along with me. :goodvibes

I've always been an early riser on vacation. There's just something about enjoying that peaceful, tranquil time of the day. :)

I've never done the walk between Epcot and DHS, then again I've not stayed on the boardwalk, so that might have something to do with it. :upsidedow

Besides the fact that walking is the only exercise that I usually get at WDW it is a nice trek.

I have the best thing for any future issues when dealing with blisters.....mole skin. Sounds disgusting but I'm telling you, it's saved two WDW trips and I would have probably given my left arm to get more when I thought I was running out on the second to the last trip I was on. Praise the Lord I didn't need it this last trip. I used it once and found it ended up being an bigger pain than the blister I thought I was getting, and because I didn't want to stop and fix it, I took it off and actually didn't have any more issues. :dance3:
That's a first for me. The weight coming off really did make a big difference on my feet this last trip. :goodvibes

I've heard of mole skin... sounds like it does the job well.

I love that you have a perspective of before and after 80 lbs!! It's good to be on the other side of that number and be able to see what a difference it makes. :thumbsup2

I wish you had been able to get more done on your solo morning, but alas duty calls, luggage must be transferred and butts must be gotten out of bed.

And I concur, you look pretty darn cute when you are schvitzing all over the place. :thumbsup2

Considering we had a resort change ahead of us I was pretty glad that I had worked in any solo park time. And as for butts out of bed... let's see about that one....

You guys have got the cutest dresses for dinner at the YC! I just got back last night and I have to admit, we totally stole a page out of your book and decided to throw on some dresses for dinner at Ohana. It was fun to get a little fancy :goodvibes

The Carp... I mean the Dolphin!

Florida humidity and flip flops...never a match (but it doesn't stop me from trying!) :p

Welcome back Emily! I need to head over to your PTR to get caught up although you may have already started a TR... let me know. :)

Thanks, we usually like to pretty up for the nicer dinners. I hope you share photos of your 'Ohana dinner.

Ha ha! Yes, the fishy hotel that doesn't quite know what a Dolphin looks like.

Nothing worse than a visit from a blister to make every step annoying. It happens to me ALL the time while at WDW..

The heat sounds pretty good right now (since its 32 degrees outside) but I absolutely positive it was awful. I don't blame you for calling it a morning a heading back to check out. At least you got to ride ToT and got some cute PP pictures!

That carrot cake cookie is the best, but I definitely crashed and burned after eating it for breakfast so I won't be doing that again.

Oh man! You must wear sandals a lot as well. I need to go with comfort over fashion more often. ;)

As much as I would love some "winter weather" I would probably start complaining very quickly if it was colder than 50 degrees for more than a few days straight. I am enjoying the rainy weather here in CA which triggers weather alerts for 2" of rain. Go figure! :confused3

I must be more sugar tolerant! I had no problem consuming that cookie and continuing with my day. :p

Between riding ToT and the carrot cake cookie, I'd say you got a lot done AND did the most important things at DHS! :thumbsup2 Oh, and Bo. ;)

Plus a stroll along Crescent Lake is a treat all by itself!

A morning with some of my favorites wasn't wasted time for sure! And Bo! At least he knows I was thinking of him.

I think I am caught up on your report!!!

Back to your Intermission at DL-

I love the pictures of the empty park!

And I love that the parks sometime open at 7 am. With a 3 hour time difference and my body's habit of waking up between 4-5 am EST EVERY.SINGLE.DAY I will be all over that.

But I especially love the Space Mtn Smooch photo!
Thanks Dee! You definitely won't have any trouble making rope drop at DL parks considering that's practically the middle of your day Eastern time.

Good thing I knew that guy next to me on Space Mtn!

Can't blame you for heading back to the resort after your DS tour. Really, what else could you do that would compare at that point?

I suppose we could have gone over to the Swiss Family Treehouse and seen how the non royals build their residence. :)

I have never given Shula's a thought, but OMG- a football-themed steakhouse??? The two things in the world that my teenager is obsessed with? Nate might even acknowledge my existence if I took him there!

:rotfl2: That's great! Yes, you may even get parent of the year award from your kid for taking them there.

What gorgeous early morning photos of SAB and YC.

Sorry you had to cut your solo time at HS short.

Thanks! Speaking of SAB... stay tuned.

Hi Brenda, I have been so Mia from the dis..life stuff..but the pull of your day 8 has me back! Wow just finished reading and gawking at photos. Truly a special moment for you and the fact you and your daughter did together was amazing.
Love love your Disneyland intermissions! And happy 18th birthday to your daughter. Amazing views from that room... You really do sell this place!
You and em looked fabulous like usual on your way to diner...lol the heel story. I defiantly give you credit for always looking so nice in the parks.
Nice alone time at DHs.. Lol without the blisters and heat .
Looking forward to contemporary and your dec trip report. Thks for bringing me back to the dis ;)

Thanks for catching up Patti. I hope life isn't so crazy any longer.

Em and I have talked about the DS tour and how I'm glad that it was her with me on this trip. Somehow, the significance of that tour would have been lost on my DH who I suspect would not carry around the castle "room key" in his wallet like Em.

Thanks, I'm glad to have shared the DL intermission.

Oh, you are so sweet. Thanks for hanging in there with this TR. I have yet to start the Dec. version. :)

Lovely morning walk to HS...well, except for that blister. At that time, you'd do anything to make it go away.

What a nice Mom to let Em sleep, of course, you did get some solo park time in too!

Can you believe that I forgot to get a carrot cake cookie when we were at HS in January??? :crazy2: I have never had one and after hearing about them on the DIS I was determined to have one. Well, our HS plans got shortened and I don't think we were even by the Writer's Stop at all. Next time, I'll write it on my hand so I don't forget! :thumbsup2

Christine

Lovely walk, icky blister.

It was a good trade off, sleep for Em, solo park time for me AND a carrot cake cookie.

Get a sharpie out and write on your hand, "do not leave park without carrot cake cookie!" Ok, you may have to write shorthand to get it all to fit but great idea!

My SIL tours the park in sandals too, and i've always been so worried about blisters! They seem a lot cooler (in both ways ;)) to be in sandals though.

I think you had a pretty nice morning even if you didn't do so much. I mean come-on, a delicious carrot cookie and ToT! Sounds pretty fab to me.

I chose fashion over comfort too often...exhibit A - blister. Yikes! I like wearing runners so I'm not sure why I don't wear them more often.

Exactly, ToT and carrot cake cookie makes for a great morning! :thumbsup2

Whoa! It feels a little weird to comment in “real time”! :rotfl2:

So excited to see you moving to BLT. I have grand intentions of buying into DVC someday in the relatively near future - looking forward to trying out BLT one day. Was all the resort-hopping a total drag? I’m always tempted, but then I think about packing, and……. So did the fun of switching resorts outweigh horrible re-packing and unpacking??? I always totally unpack, can’t stand to live out of a suitcase - not sure I could handle doing it multiple times what with all the princess paraphernalia. :scared1:

How fun to do a little solo outing to DHS! But a blister is just the worst at WDW! And that heat……. :scared1: Love the MU DHS and hat PP pics though! How did I not realize that ToT is your favorite ride? If we manage to meet up this summer, you and Willow will be fast friends. I totally understand being disappointed in how much you accomplished in that heat - I think there has to be a different standard for August! :confused3

Don't worry, it feels really weird to write about things that took place 2 Dis trips ago. I'm starting to get my Disney trips mixed up. :upsidedow

We enjoy resort hoping since there's several that we love so much we can't decide on just one... or two.. or three in this case. Since we leave the work to bell service, we just go about our day and then end up at the resort that we are checking into. We've never had problems since we arrive after the rooms should be ready.... knock on wood.

BLT was the very first on-site hotel we stayed at in 2010 so it has special memories.

Ah Willow loves ToT! She's my kind of ride buddy. :flower3: She's pretty brave for such a young 'um.

During those hot summer days we definitely plan our days to include more indoor time. Whereas a day at the pool doesn't normally appeal to me, it sure sounds good at WDW.

YUCK to blisters :( Hope it didn't cause you too many problems.

I love the picture of you with the picture frame and great big hat!! I just might have one of those myself now ;)

I kept plenty of band-aids with me after this little blister incident so I don't remember having further problems.

Oh, I see you started your TR!! Welcome back! :)

I say... start the next TR... more for us to read!! :-)

Loved your photos and review of Shula's... already said this on the Dining TR.. but I seriously have to eat there!

Sorry to hear about the blister... I can't wear flip flops to the parks, I'm strictly a sneaker person. I can wear flips to the pool and around the resort... but the parks are just too much walking!

Your early morning YC photos are so serene and pretty! I always think I'm going to run and exercise on vacation.. butttttttt sleep wins over!

Can't wait to see your BLT photos! That's my DH's favorite hotel so far! I'm definitely not a fan of resort hopping... I like to unpack once and settle in. I always contemplate it b/c I want to stay everywhere, but in the end... staying in one place wins out. Granted my trips are much shorter than yours!!

Hi Amy! I'm still planning to start that Dec. TR... too many excuses and not enough time yet. It will seem odd doing a Christmas TR in the Spring. ;)

You are a much smarter gal than I! My feet do much better in runners so go figure! :confused3

I hear ya! My kid goes to the gym on vacation and although I think about it..that's as far as I get. I run at home so I take a break running on vacation. I just don't make it a priority on vacation like I do at home. :)

I saw on your TR that BLT was your hubby's favorite. I'll definitely share a lot of photos. Resort hopping isn't for everyone but this trip I added on 1 new resort that was 1 night - otherwise, we try to stay at least 3 nights at a single resort. We'll be starting 6 nights at BLT for this part of the trip. Two weeks would be far too long in one place for us. :p

Thanks for hanging in here and continuing to follow along!

Everything looks like so much fun....even if it is only 1 ride, 1 cookie, and 8 pp pics!!! :rotfl2:

Definitely start the December trip!!! We all want to know about it!

Ahhh thank you. Some highlights in such a brief time that morning! :)

Thank you for the encouragement to start the Dec. TR. After so long I wonder if anyone is even interested.

The tour of the castle suite was wonderful, but I look forward to the transfer to Bay Lake Towers. I loved our one and only week at BLT. I dream about staying there again one day.:goodvibes

Thank you!

BLT quickly became a favorite since it was our first on-site hotel. It wasn't my cup of tea for the décor but I love so many other things about it. You can't beat the convenience of walking to MK.

Your early morning YC photos are just beautiful!! That's one of the best times of day at that resort...so peaceful!

Solo time in DHS sounds really fun!!!

Thanks Julie! It was a great morning.

Coincidently, I just caught up on your TR today and it was a DHS day for you as well.

Saturday August 24, 2013: Day 9, Part 2

So I was on my way back to the YC... by boat. I wanted to baby the blister on my foot until I could get a fresh Band-Aid applied.

DSCN7680.jpg

Back at the room Em was packed and ready – good girl! Look at what was waiting for me! I didn't have to do a thing but call bell service. That Mickey bag was still hanging in there despite having some serious falling apart at the seams issues. Ya'll know how that ended!

DSCN7687.jpg

While waiting for bell service to fetch our bags and transfer them to BLT we said farewell to the room....

Once bell service left with the bags we were NOT ready to leave the resort yet. We had one thing on our MUST DO list while at YC/BC. We decided to FINALLY take a dip in the pool at Stormalong Bay. After 3 stays at either BC or YC we had never been in that pool. We donned our suits and had a pool bag packed.

You must show a room key to confirm that you are staying at the resort but we were waived in when they saw our MBs. I imagine this has changed now that so many resorts are participating in the MBs. At that time there were only a few so there was less suspicion of strangers wandering into the pool complex and passing themselves off as YC/BC guests.

We spent the better part of an hour in the pool enjoying the lazy river, the sand bottom pool and the zero entry pool.

See, I actually did take a dip in the pool! (Dee, I followed the appropriate steps of find a chair, set towel on chair, remove outerwear, and THEN jump in the pool!)

We had to get moving since our lunch ADR was approaching. We dried off and changed in the ladies room next to the Spa.

Silliness in the bathroom:

Hey, I DID make it into the gym this trip. I just didn't break out in a sweat while in there but technically, I did go to the gym! We decided to take a peek in the gym and spa while we were there.

We took the boat to DHS since it started to rain on the way. We had ponchos so we didn’t get too wet but we were a little soggy by the time we checked in for our lunch at Sci Fi. This restaurant continues to be in our dining rotation and I can’t exactly say why other than I like the theming and I like the burgers. Other than that…. I fall short coming up with a reason to return. Check out my dining review here that explains how we got “bumped” to the driver’s seat and did I get that burger that I say that I like?

Ponchos donned we were ready for rain!

Our little green Disney convertible at Sci-Fi. Wouldn't that be wild to actually drive a car like that? It would have to have a Magic Band touch to start the engine and Radio Disney exclusive channel.

The BEST corny movie clip EVER is...
DSCN7953.jpg

It's amazing that this guy keeps growing and his towel grows commiserate with his size! And then there's that silly little scene where the doctor types are trying to give the Colossal Man an injection and he takes the gigantic syringe and spears the poor dude on the ground. Those that have been to Sci-Fi and seen this clip will notice that they didn't need special effects to pull off the dude being struck by the needle. He is holding it against his side to make it appear that he was speared. Such talent I tell ya! I always chuckle when I see that scene since it would be so much better if it had some CG enhancements.

Saturday August 24, 2013: Day 9, Part 2

I'm glad that my TR was instructive!

:sad2:

I'm so glad you got a chance to check out the pool! Beautiful pictures- I love the one of Emmy in the float.

Did you know that it takes 7 minutes to do a complete circuit in the lazy river using only the current in the pool? My mission last summer was to time that!

How was the pool temp? I have experienced it from uncomfortably warm, to refreshing, to AAHHHHHH.

I have the same gym dedication that you do! I took pictures of the gym when I walked through to use the locker room to change, too!

:yay:

Sci Fi is one of those places that works itself into your mind, making you insist that it is a must do. I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised and pleased with your choice there.

We are so excited to be staying at the Beach Club in October and finally get to use Stormalong Bay !!
That gym looks pretty good, does that belong to YC or BC or is it shared?

glad you finally got a chance to enjoy Stormalong bay - it looks like so much fun!

Glad you enjoyed your choice at SciFi (won't spoil it though / will force people to read your dining review so you get double the clicks to find out if you did order the burger or not). I agree that the food there isn't amazing, but a place that does good burgers and shakes isn't a bad thing to have in he rotation

Hope things went well with your transfer

Stormalong Bay has always seemed like the best resort pool to me. Having a lazy river and a sand bottom right outside your room just sounds like it would make for a relaxing vacation. Alex and I plan on staying at BC when Landon's an older kid just to enjoy that pool. :goodvibes
I'm glad you had time to check it out before heading into DHS for the afternoon.

The Sci Fi burgers are really good, and it's kind of fun to sit in those cars and watch cheesy trailers, but I understand what you mean about not understanding the return to the restaurant. It has that effect on a lot of us. :rotfl:

Brenda,, were you able to take at least one trip down the water slide.. We also would say go for it and start a December trip report

Awww Em had everything packed and ready. What an amazing kid you have there. I say that because, of course, you clearly aren't already aware of that.

First time at Stormalong?? Wow, I'm actually surprised by that. But good on you for removing your outerwear. I swear Dee will never live that one down. :rotfl2:

Wow, you got some wonderful photos too. That place is amazing.

me is such a good daughter! SAB looks awesome...I have to stay there so I can try it out some of these days.

Oh...SB and the lazy river. It would be so nice to have a quiet trip around the lazy river today...alas, I'll just have to look at your pictures and think about it.

:thumbsup2 for Em having everything ready to go when you got back. You've trained her well. Now, tell me all your secrets! :rotfl2:

Christine

How good of Em to pack up for your return! What a great daughter! So glad to hear you got to enjoy SAB. I just love it there. My friend that came down for Princess with me and I have decided that maybe next year we are gonna stay there. She is now contemplating the Princess given that she has heard directly from MANY people she can walk it! Not sure why no one believes me when I tell them that lol. We went to B&C and walked by SAB and she fell in love with the hotel.

Hi! Just wna say your trip reports are so fun and awesome! I may not be in WDW but I feel like I'm there with your trip reports. Thank you so much for sharing!☺️

Enjoyable update.
I do love Stormalong Bay!! The lazy river portion tends to be cooler than the rest of the pool in the hot August month. The photos are wonderful!! Good memories.

Sci Fi.:scratchin We tried that one this year as you know. And I have to agree. It's the atmosphere, not the food, that would bring a body back there. :rolleyes1 Although, it wasn't the worst I've ever had.

Love all the corny monster movies. I remember watching those old black and whites as a kid on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when there was nothing else on TV.
