YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

I love the look and sound of Teppan Edo but we didn't do it this year as we weren't sure our girls would be ok. Definitely want to try it next time.

WS is a lovely place to aimlessly wander! :)

Rain, rain go away! :thumbsup2 But where was all the handy-dandy rain gear you just bought? :rotfl:

I love that Katmark keeps stalking you on this trip! :lmao:

Just catching up --- hope you had a Merry Christmas with your family!

OMG - that squirrel photo is to funny!

Great photo at Teppan Edo -- perfection! :wizard:

Yep, we once had a stroller left out in the open when it started pouring rain in Animal Kingdom. We had to drape the seat with an inverted poncho so that DS could sit in it. He still wasn't too happy about it.

Love the picture you took of the CM looking out the window at Teppan Edo!

We might have gotten a fp+ for LWTL. :rolleyes1
That Kathy was stalking again. LOL
You are a Princess. LOL
Nice update and pics.

Teppan Edo is always so yummy. I've never had a bad meal there. We actually had a female chef last time, which was cool. She was the first one at the (*ahem* many) hibachi restaurants I've eaten at.

Listen, you run into a DISer, you take a picture right? That's the rule. :goodvibes

Ohhhh we had Mayo who was a female chef once at TE. She was awesome. The girls do as well as the men. Sounds like you have enough hibachi experience for comparison. I tend to save the teppanyaki experience for Teppan Edo.

Exactly. Even if I look like heck, gotta record it. ;) Speaking of Dismeets... If I lived about 1,200 miles closer I'd be at the one you mentioned on FB tonight!! ::yes::

We ate at Via Napoli on our last trip and had the best Italian waiter. He really made the meal fun. :)

For some reason they always seem to be over the top good. (Meaning the service not their good looks...)

I can't believe how many times you've bumped into Kat, what a coincidence you've been in the same places :goodvibes

Hi Jo! Me neither but it was awesome! :yay: I should be more amazed when you think what are the odds?

Thinking of you since I'm going to finish up day 7 and move on to day 8 where we saw the Dream Suite. Not sure anyone is interested anymore since this had drug on soooo long.... :)

Hi Brenda
Great updates!
We haven't been to Teppan Edo for years and we really must get back there!
Lovely that you bumped into Kathy again :)

Hi Linda! Em has had the veggie option a few times that I think you'd adore. If nothing else they have some pretty good cocktail selections.

:)

WOW!! I just found your TR last night and well I spent all day today reading it :wave2:
Now I can't wait for you to start your December TR! :cool1:

Hi TinyDancer!! I'm so glad that you found this and read through in its entirety! Thank you for joining! :goodvibes

You're joining at a good time since I'm going to close out day 7 and move on to the day for which the TR received its title.

I'm planning to get a bit further in this TR before I start a new one from December. We shall see since the ship may sail on that one if it gets too far away.

I love the look and sound of Teppan Edo but we didn't do it this year as we weren't sure our girls would be ok. Definitely want to try it next time.

Was is a lovely place to aimlessly wander! :)

Hi Lisa! Not only do we enjoy the performance of TE but we do love the food and the graciousness of the service. I'm not a fan of any of the desserts but all else is good.

I agree! :)

Rain, rain go away! :thumbsup2 But where was all the handy-dandy rain gear you just bought? :rotfl:

I love that Katmark keeps stalking you on this trip! :lmao:

Ha ha! Yeah... my brand new rain gear was safely stowed in the room. Can you believe that we went out unprepared... in August... in the afternoon. I know better.

Kathy may say that we were stalking her... hmmmmm. Seriously though, it was a happy moment when we saw each other every time.

Just catching up --- hope you had a Merry Christmas with your family!

OMG - that squirrel photo is to funny!

Great photo at Teppan Edo -- perfection! :wizard:

Hi Julie! Thank you very much. It was very nice with all my kids home for the holiday! I was a happy mommy.

Isn't that guy adorable... he was playing freeze tag it looks like.

I couldn't pass that photo op up since it was very interesting. The gal may be weirded out if she knew her photo was posted on my TR though...

I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!

Yep, we once had a stroller left out in the open when it started pouring rain in Animal Kingdom. We had to drape the seat with an inverted poncho so that DS could sit in it. He still wasn't too happy about it.

Love the picture you took of the CM looking out the window at Teppan Edo!

Hi Dave! Your note reminds me of a looooong time ago, likely before you were wee, when babies wore cloth diapers and had those plastic pants over them. At least you had a poncho so your DS didn't have to go around with soggy pants. I'm sure he will thank you some day!

Thanks! One of those photo ops that is hard to pass up. :thumbsup2

We might have gotten a fp+ for LWTL. :rolleyes1

You are a Princess. LOL
Nice update and pics.

Oh so you are one of those people? ;) Since they have the tiering FP+ at Epcot it is probably snagged by more than a few people since it is not a tier 1 option.

Stalking is welcome by fellow Disers! :thumbsup2

Ha ha! Just ask my hubby... he'll tell you I think I'm a princess too.

Thanks Scott! :goodvibes

Thurs. August 22, 2013: Day 7, Part 3

Tonight was dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel at 7:30. We hustled out of the room and to the IG at Epcot.

It's hard to see the hustle in our demeanor but it was there!
DSCN6405.jpg

Although we were running a little late we didnt foresee any significant delays until&.. remember when I wrote earlier that our MBs worked well for our park entry with no problem. Well, they didnt now. No green lights! We knew this wasnt a problem since this had happened before so we were prepared to have the MBs rescanned or to show our APs.

The CM with the hand held tablet thingy had us step aside and scanned our MBs. The dude seemed annoyed and had a bit of an attitude when he said that we must not have scanned our fingers correctly when we set these up. Really? I asked, you mean a year ago when we got these? Thats some technology that allows guest into the parks with an incorrect finger scan if thats the case. The 5 year old in me wanted to argue but whats the point? Oh wait I just did! He reset the bands and we were on our way.

Oh and you will be glad to know that potential wardrobe malfunction #2 was nipped in the bud! The CM was having us hold up our wrists to the machine and my other hand was full so when my skirt started to billow upwards from a sudden breeze Em was there to hold it down. But not to fear, there wouldnt have been too much exposure since I was ever so smart after the RnRC incident and wore bike shorts under my skirt. So there!

Once inside the gate we quickly made our way to Mexico without any distraction or detours for a quick ride on SE like ahem someone here on the Disboards... looking at you Dee! :magnify:

Can you see our hustle now with this lovely blurry photo?
DSCN6412.jpg

We arrived at La Hacienda and were welcomed without any attitude for being tardy and even seated at a lovely table for two by the windows. Anyone who has dined here knows that those seats are highly coveted for Illuminations viewing. Heres the link to my official La Hacienda dining review which contains the apparently innocuous news about an update to their margarita selections that caused hysteria and outrage on the dining boards!

See for yourself.

Sharing a few photos from dinner and Illuminations.

This was a great spot to view Illuminations while not having to camp out or stand on my tippy toes to get a view of the globe.
DSCN6581.jpg

Following dinner I was completely confused since for some reason I thought it was EMH and the park was open until 11pm. Seriously, I only had 1 margarita so NO, my judgment was not affected by tequila at least I didnt think so.

We walked over to FW to see Ellens Universe of Energy (I should abbreviate that one, no?) or Mission Space but they had roped off the area on the other side of Mousegears. Ohhhhhh&. Now I get it. The park is closed. After an about face we walked back to IG talking the following photos along the way.

It's worth a walk through England in the evening to see what British words of wisdom have been crafted for the day.

When we reached the beach area for the YC/BC I wanted to walk in the sand since I love the soft velvety feel on my bare feet. While we were walking along the beach we noticed that Disneys Enchanted was the movie on the beach that night. I LOVE that movie. I was so excited to see it playing. Here's a short video clip that includes movie screen.

A burst from Fantasmic??
DSCN6745.jpg

It may sound silly to say that this was the best movie experience Id had when you think - it was just outside. It was. But there were little girls in their Disney princess outfits, a pop of fireworks from Fantasmic peeking over the BWI, the reflection of the Boardwalk lights on the water, the soft sand burying our feet, and my own little baby (figuratively of course) sitting there and all combined to be so incredibly wonderful!

The night ended with some Conan on TV and setting an alarm since we had to be up early for our planned meet up with our friend.

That was a wrap for day 7.

Y'all look so beautiful heading out for the evening. :goodvibes

I know change is supposed to be a good thing, but why oh why does Disney change the things we love? :confused3 I don't know anyone who doesn't talk about the avocado marg. when they go to Epcot.
Oh well, it looks like your evening turned out well any way. :goodvibes

I'm not one for Illuminations, but if I had to watch it, sitting inside in the comfort of the a/c would be the way to go. :thumbsup2
As always your pictures are beautiful.

Now, now! A side trip to Space Ship earth while traveling from the IG to La Hacienda would have been entirely inappropriate since you would have had to go out of your way in your travels.

In my defense, when traveling from MK to EP, and heading to La Hacienda, Spaceship Earth is RIGHT THERE! There is no possible way to avoid it. So riding was a foregone conclusion, no matter what time our reservation was for.

Now, had you come around the backside of the World Showcase on your way to La Hacienda, I would have approved any delays or distractions in France or the American Adventure or Norway since they are all technically "on the way". I would have to work a little harder to justify the Grand Fiesta Tour since it is beyond the restaurant, but it IS a related attraction to the meal you are about to have, so "Why Not?"

The Missing Avocado Margarita Fiasco is hilarious! I'm glad that alls well that ends well.

That is too bad that you were given some disappointing suggestions from the waiter. You may have hit on the one substandard thing there, because truly every single bite we had a La Hacienda was better than the first.

Em's pork chop looks amazing! I'm hesitant to order anything with mole when out because I make it at home and I haven't come across anything I like better.

Nate ordered the empanada and I believe that disappeared before anyone else could get a taste.

I love your description of your night chilling on the beach with the magical sights and sounds of the movie and the lit-up Boardwalk. Not a moment you plan for, but one that makes a long-lasting impression.

:thumbsup2

We've never taken time to watch one of the movies on the beach. I haven't seen Enchanted yet, but finally saw Brave and Tangled when our youngest daughter was in from Colorado with her DH and two kids this Christmas. Now I need to see Frozen. I hear it is really good.

What is that large rectangular thing to the left of the Swan/Dolphin?

LOVE the movies on the beach!!!
Great update.
Being in Epcot after hours (or before) is such a great way to enjoy the sights in World Showcase.

That does look like a great seat at La Hacienda. It's always a nice respite when you can watch the nighttime shows from a comfy seat, especially during the summer when it's hot and humid out.

Sometimes, it's the little, spontaneous things on a trip that make it so special. :goodvibes Watching Enchanted on the beach after IllumiNations sounds like a wonderful way to top off the night.

My desire to stay at an Epcot resort just went up about 1,000% because of this update. So much fun. I love Enchanted as well. I feel like its so underrated!

Isn't it always lovely when the tech doesn't work... but it's YOUR fault. I just love that. :headache:

I can now see the hustle, yes. :thumbsup2

Goodness that is a pretty nice spot to see Illuminations. But I'll take a boat in the water. ;)

Haha, you must just REALLY like EMH at Epcot since I think you made the same mistake in December too. Of course some EMH could have helped me out of a jam on a couple of occasions as well.

You know, why is it only England that gets into the street writing? Of course I do love it, but the other countries should do more stuff like that.

Hmmm, I would say that fireworks burst is right before "Some imagination, huh?". But that's just a guess... :rolleyes1

Aww Brenda, I LOVE how you ended the evening on the beach. Those are the moments that I most cherish. The little moments that aren't planned and just... happen. :lovestruc

Rain, rain go away! :thumbsup2 But where was all the handy-dandy rain gear you just bought? :rotfl:

I love that Katmark keeps stalking you on this trip! :lmao:

Ummmm...I'm not sure who was stalking who after all the time we ran into each other. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We might have gotten a fp+ for LWTL. :rolleyes1

You are a Princess. LOL
Nice update and pics.

It was all Mark's idea! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Brenda, I think that picture you posted of the three of us is my favorite of us all together by far.

Beautiful photos at the World Showcase during the day and in the evening. I must say I am not an Illuminations fan at all (we skipped it after the CP earlier this month), but if I were to stay for it, I'd like to have a seat and be cool.

In case I don't get back here,

Fantastic update! And great pictures!!! Looked like an awesome evening at Epcot! :woohoo:

Hi Alan! Thank you so much! I get lucky sometimes with my point, hold my breath, and shoot camera. :) I did just upgrade to a Nikon 7700 this summer so a shout out to the Nikon folks to give them some credit.

It was a great evening at Epcot and then on the beach.

Y'all look so beautiful heading out for the evening. :goodvibes

Camille thanks for the compliments, as always! :goodvibes

I'm glad to say that Disney only removed the avocado margarita from the San Angel Inn menu but you can still get that margarita in the Mexico pavilion. They may have changed this back by now. I wasn't too concerned since I hadn't tried it at that point.... stay tuned to see what I thought when I DID try it.

I'm with you. Especially in the summer or in heavy crowds. I'd much rather relax and watch the show. I'm glad we did that since that wouldn't be something we'd do every trip.

Wishing you a bright and beautiful day and I hope it is a good day for your mom.

Ok, even though I'm laughing, that answer was entirely predictable! Silly me! I couldn't let that one go you know!! ;)

We'll have to exclude France as a distraction since I might have run into Philippe and had to be polite and had a glass of champagne. We'll also need to rule out Norway since we may have been soaked on Norway's wettest ride and I wouldn't want to arrive soggy. Completely agree with Gran Fiesta though, that would just be pushing the envelope. Your logic makes perfect sense.

The Missing Avocado Margarita Fiasco is hilarious! I'm glad that alls well that ends well.
Truly! For all the margarita drinkers out there, the full margarita menu is still in tact so no need to fear.

Just goes to show that we all have different tastes. (Certainly illustrated by the fact that I won't touch sushi! Ick!)

I'm still a fan of La Hacienda and look forward to trying it again so I can love my last bite better than the first. :)

Speaking of empanada, we tried the empanadas from the counter service place there and LOVED them!

I love your description of your night chilling on the beach with the magical sights and sounds of the movie and the lit-up Boardwalk. Not a moment you plan for, but one that makes a long-lasting impression.

:thumbsup2

Thanks! The movie on the beach activity that is offered by your lovely YC/BC is now a not to be missed event. And to think we just stumbled upon it without any intention of really doing that that night. :)

Oh I love both Brave and Tangled. My two new favorites and it took me forever to see both of those. I still have not seen Frozen.

That rectangle thing is the peaked roofline of the hotel.... Just an odd angle from where I took the photo.

Sounds like you had a lovely visit with your kids/grandkids at Christmas. :)

Just caught up! Everything seems excellent!

Oops! I had to go back and fix my comments! My prior response made no sense at all since it was for Wood Nymph!

I'm so glad that you are caught up and following along!! Seriously delighted! :)

So far so good I must say. :goodvibes

LOVE the movies on the beach!!!
Great update.
Being in Epcot after hours (or before) is such a great way to enjoy the sights in World Showcase.

Hi Linda!! Isn't it a great thing to do? :upsidedow

You definitely can observe things at a leisurely pace before/after park open. I prefer the after dark version since before park open we are usually rushing to breakfast at Akershus.

I desperately need to get caught up with your TR. I'm heading over tonight. :flower3:

Hi there Alicia! I'm so glad that I found your TR. Considering we were there at the same time I'll be interested to see if our paths nearly crossed.

Definitely a yes to your observation about viewing Illuminations from a comfy (cool) spot. Makes me wish they had a climate controlled viewing platform with cocktail service somewhere around the perimeter of WS. Ok, they don't need to serve cocktails but somewhere to reserve VIP viewing in a cool/warm place would be great! :p

Enchanted truly was a wonderful way to end the night.
