"It's Fast! It's a Blast! It's in the Past!" - A Nov Solo Trip - The Finale

Thanks for the BOG FP+ info!!!

The good news: I was able to get one for lunch on an upcoming MK day.

The bad news: That info shows up exactly nowhere on any MDE screens.

I'd made a change to a different FP+ this morning, and that change isn't showing on any MDE screens either. Is it too simple to just hope that it's going to take a day to show up? It sounds like yours showed up instantly?

Hate to wait around for a BOG FP+ lunch, only to be turned away! Lol! Not to mention I didn't seem to have to cancel any of my three previous FP+ for the day in order to make that FP+? So confusing! Bah humbug! Lol!

Nope, it never ever shows up. That's why I took a screenshot so I had it on my phone and knew the time (and could prove I had the FP+!). I only needed the screenshot the first time since my reservation didn't show up, but the second time they had my information and I didnt' need backup.

I'd go back in and screenshot it for your trip, if I were you. Then you know the time, too!

And yes, it's in addition to your ride FP+, not in place of them. You still get your three rides! :)

Thanks again for the great info!

I am not very "techy," as you know! Lol! But I used my cell phone camera to take a picture of my desktop computer screen to show our BOG FP+. Voila! Screenshot! :-)

For some reason their system has our party of 4 as a party of 8 - essentially it lists us all twice. When I was making the FP+ there was no option to select or unselect any of the party members. So I figured I'd make it for 8 and just show up with 4. A much better problem to have, don't you think? :-)

I'm really struggling with all these crazy system glitches. I have never spent so much time preparing for a trip - and I hope to never do so ever again. We picked a very bad year to plan multiple trips. We're trying to embrace the insanity, and know that just about anything could happen this time around. We really loved the way we'd come to tour the parks, but we know it just can't happen that way anymore. Time will tell if we will still love Disney just as much as we have.

For today I will just be happy knowing that I will (hopefully!) get a chance to peek at BOG and see if it's all it's cracked up to be. I might have to sneak in some food for picky-eater daughter, but that's her problem. :-) You won't eat a grilled ham and cheese? Well here, have an apple. :-)

Thanks again!!!

So glad you got a FP+ for BOG!! When you get there, I'd just explain about the 8 - I can't imagine they'd turn you away because THEIR system has a glitch you can't get around.

I think the glitches have affected me a little, as well as FP+ bothering me as well. I was ok this trip because I could still pull FP-, but since that is going away I'm not sure WHAT I'm going to end up doing Disney-wise. Mom and I have a fall trip, that's for sure; part is already booked, and I'm looking to rent points for another three nights after (probably AKL, since I'm positive BWV studios will be gone before I'm ready to book!). And I have an AP, so I might go another time before that trip possibly. But I'm really not interested in pre-booking my rides, and I'm not interested in having a rigid schedule. That's not what I want in a vacation.

I really loved my turkey sandwich - I'm a picky eater too! But it was turkey on garlic bread; how could you possibly go wrong? Oh man, I'd eat it RIGHT NOW! Well, at least your daughter will get an apple. My mom would have ordered me the plainest thing on the menu and told me to eat it or get over it.

I've loved reading your TR. On your last full day at WDW we were at Epcot too. Judging from your pics we darn near would've run into each other. We were doing the Agent P thing in Mexico and Norway at probably the same time you were passing through that way.

We left that Saturday morning. From your pics at MK it looked like it rained pretty good. Easier to leave Florida when the weather is crummy than if it had been sunny and 80. However, with 6 inches of snow expected this weekend here I'd take 70 and rain.

BOG FP+ in addition to rides FP+...hmmm guessing there is no chance but may have to look into that. We have a dinner res there one night but your turkey sandwich is making my mouth water.

What a wonderful trip you had

Figment thoughts....miss the older one as well - BUT daughter had gotten to see it and Figment is one of my favorites, plus here are talks of it going away again..this time for good so I am a take it while I can kind of girl.

You never know until you try!! Here's the BOG fastpass website - https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com/ pixiedust: O.k. just looked back and realized that I repeated what Jenn said just a page earlier. lol.....you really should try BOG at lunch though.

Here was my lunch from there -

It was the Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin style) - eight-hour slow-cooked pork with mushrooms, onions, carrots and bacon served with mashed potatoes and green beens jardiniere $11.99 and it is OMG good!!!! Even my kids ate it once I pulled out the questionable vegetables for them. Great flavor and oh so good. Can you send me a plate when you go? lol.....

Thanks so much for reading along; this has been my favorite TR to do and I'm sad I only have two or so entries to make. :(

That's crazy that we were crossing paths like that! We very well could have run into each other and we'll never know. I didn't do an Agent P mission, though every time I've gone to Epcot I've thought about it. I don't know why I didn't. :(

I agree, I'd be ok with the 70 degree temperatures with rain vs. what I have piling up on my car right now.

Yes, look into it! And may I suggest the carved turkey sandwich?!

I did have a great trip. I know there's been talk about dumping JII altogether, but man, Epcot can't take another ride down. I feel like it's just shopping sometimes. I only really ride TT, SE, and the Mexico ride. Throw in Soarin' once in awhile, and it's a pretty sad place for rides IMO.

Your lunch looks good too! The green beans looks good - and I bet that the carrots were delicious. Slow cooked carrots are my FAVORITE THINGS. (have a stew going right now, with plenty of carrots) Plus, bacon. Mmm. I could go for some bacon right now! Ok, time for breakfast!

:banana::banana:

I'm going to come back and finish the trip part of this report later this morning, I think. I don't have a whole lot left to say; but I do have more pictures! See you guys then!

:goodvibes

Wow! That sounded like one terrible sandwich at Sunshine Seasons! The cookie definitely looked a lot better than the sandwich sounded.

What a hilarious TT ride! I’m glad you didn’t get stuck.

:scared1: That is freaky about the Soarin’ seatbelt! I have definitely not seen one like that before. I mean, wow, what would even be the use of a seatbelt like that?

Very impressive making rope drop on a departure day! Too bad about the stupid rain though.

That is incredible that you were able to just grab a FP+ for BOG like that! I’m guessing that as people learn the system, that won’t be so doable anymore. Totally going to try BOG for lunch next time though - our dinner experience was not stellar, but it seems like everyone really enjoys the lunch options.

That was the worst sandwich I've ever had in my life. :(

The cookie, on the other hand, was awesome.

I'm glad to hear someone else doesn't know *** was going on with that seatbelt. I was so confused by it! At least I held on pretty well the whole ride!

I really do like the lunch. Disclaimer: I have not had BOG supper!

I had left MK and headed towards Epcot. When I arrived, I headed straight to the single rider line of TT and pretty much sprinted through that line. Honestly, I can't imagine ever waiting in line at TT again after seeing this single rider line. Even with other people in your party, it's a great way to ride. I know my mom and I will be doing this when we come back in the fall.

I passed up SE (why? WHY!? I only rode ONCE this trip!) and took a stroll through Mouse Gears. Then I started wandering.

I'm not exactly sure where I was heading, to be honest. I went back and forth in WS and then headed BACK to TT. I was cold and wet and just trying to kill time getting in as many rides as possible.

But after this ride, I knew my time was up. It was after 3 p.m. now, and I had to be back at BWV for my bus at 3:45. It was time to walk back over.

I just kept taking pictures, knowing I wasn't going to be back for awhile!

I had time, so I decided to take the boat.

After boarding the boat, I thought that maybe this wasn't the best idea. It was already 3:30 and I only had 15 minutes, but now I was committed. And I KNEW the bus wouldn't be on time, so I chanced it.

I got to BWV and collected my carry on from bell services. Then I headed to the bathroom and went outside to wait.

Then something happened that I have never personally seen happen at a WDW resort.

A group of us are gathered and wondering when the heck the bus will get there (it's already after 4) when another vehicle pulls up to the ME stop....

A fire truck!! A BIG one!

Shortly after, an ambulance pulls up as well.

Then, an ME bus shows up. People get off, but come to find out that the bus is only dropping off, not picking up. And the entire time, there's a group of about 10 of us breathing in the fumes of the fire truck (which is still running, of course).

Another ME bus comes. Nope, not picking up.

Finally, now that all of us waiting are good friends, our bus comes. In that time, the ambulance drives off with someone in tow (I hope they were ok :worried: ) and after one of our group berates the bus driver (what was the point in that??) we all climb on the bus.

The world's most gorgeous and adorable little boy and I had made friends at the bus stop. He was visiting with his mom and dad and little brother. The boy was almost 3, and his little brother was almost 1. The little boy climbed right up in the seat next to me on the bus, and his parents went to collect him but he REALLY wanted to sit by me. I told the parents it was fine (they were afraid he'd bother me, but I have 8 nieces and nephews and love kids), and proceeded to have a great conversation with this little cutie for the entire ride. He really kept me calm on the bus, and he and I and his parents talked the whole way to my stop at American.

When I got in the airport, I took this picture:

If you're a video game fanatic like me and haven't seen King of Kong, check it out! Usually you can get it on streaming services; you might even be able to check it out on youtube. It's the goods.

My flight went smoothly, except that the people behind me smelled REALLY badly. I mean, very bad. I don't think it was their fault; but they smelled like seafood to the point that if you had a shellfish allergy you probably couldn't have been on our plane. I'd imagine they went for one last seafood feast before hitting the plane and just didn't realize how they smelled. It's the first time I've come across that on a plane.

When I arrived in Chicago, I grabbed a cab and headed home with all my goodies. The goodies and my wrap up will be in my final post, coming soon!

Great last day but last days are always so so hard!!!

TT single rider is great except that my kids HAVE to make their own car/truck/flying vehicle while we are in line. :headache:

CAPTAIN!!!! The guy in the white shirt and pants in your picture of the boat is Captain Redbeard!! He is by far our absolute FAVORITE boat driver/announcer EVER at Disney. He's coming up soon in my TR and our family kinda freaked him out because we told him how much we talk about him at home!!

Glad that your flight was uneventful. That's the best kind of flight to have.

I was not quite ready to go home. I'm glad my trip in the fall will be 10 days. It will be my longest yet, and I'm sure I'll be ready to come home by the time it's over!

Ha, that's so funny that you know that captain!! I had to go to my original picture and zoom in to see if his beard was red.

I've really only had three flights out of dozens of flights that I would consider eventful. One was turbulence so bad for so long it was like being on a roller coaster; one was a medical emergency on a snowy and icy night (coming home from my first trip back to WDW in 10 years when I was sick sick sick); and one was a good flight but we were stopped on the tarmac for over an hour after landing, due to a major storm. I think I've had very good luck with flights! (though I forgot that the landing on this flight was pretty darn hairy)

Great pics! :)

Thanks!!

I always seem to end up on an interesting flight and therefore rather driving to flying!!

We had the same occurrence with the DME busses. It seemed like they kept dropping off without ever picking up. I can't remember that before, maybe that's the way it always was but I don't remember that.

I noticed the arcade at MCO. King of Kong was an awesome movie. Can't recommend it enough. "There's a kill screen coming up."

Great last day!!

Funny, we saw 2-3 ambulance/fire trucks arrive at YC/BC during our stay? :confused3

Single-rider TT - gah - a little jealous of the single riders right now.

Yikes - I hate to think of someone needing an ambulance during a WDW vacation. :(

Weird about all the no-pick-up ME buses. :confused3 But even weirder that someone thought it was necessary to berate the driver who actually did pick people up!

Aww - that is so cute about the little boy. As a parent of a child who wants to have a 3-hour conversation with everyone she meets, I totally understand the parents’ concern.

:( Can’t believe the trip is over. But I will be happy to read your final update! :thumbsup2

I would drive too, then! I think the only reason I love flying is because it usually goes so well for me.

I think it was that way before - I know we saw it happen like that at POFQ.

That movie cracked me up! But it was also pretty serious, if you really watched it. I would recommend it as well!

Oh wow! I have never seen a fire truck OR an ambulance on Disney property at ALL.

That person who berated the driver was pretty crazy. As soon as he said he was picking up, she threw a fit and made him immediately take her bag and she just got on the bus, even before he opened the bottom of the bus for bags. He looked confused, but my group that had been chatting the whole time made up for it by being super friendly to him and joking around. Felt bad for the guy.

I understood that they thought he'd be a bother, but I also feel like in this day and age, you don't know about strangers. I was very careful not to touch him at all, even if he reached out to touch me - except one time, when the bus stopped suddenly I reached my arm out instinctively to stop him from tumbling off the seat.

Sad your tr is coming to an end...last day blues are inevitable right?

Love that you made a bud buddy! Looking forward to the wrap up.
