So will you be watching? I am watching the making of on bravo right now. I will watch, personally I don't care for Carrie Underwood, but I am sure she will do well.

A few years back I saw it in Toronto, it was amazing. I'd love to see this one thou. I think Carrie Underwood would do a great job.

I probably will. I have a weakness for Vampire Bill. ;) I guess Carrie Underwood will do.

Carrie Underwood is the only reason I would have a remote interest in watching, the answer is yes.

Julie Andrews did such a great job in the movie. It's such an iconic role, I don't understand why they want to re-do it.

I totally agree with you. Some things you just don't mess with.

They're not re-doing the movie. It's the musical so it will be different.

Julie Andrews is wonderful, yes but she doesn't hold the monopoly on certain roles. Whatever happens with this version won't ruin Ms. Andrew's version.

:thumbsup2

Julie Andrews fully supports the effort. She stated that it has been 50 years, so time to give somebody else a turn.

And this is a live musical, not the movie. I love Carrie Underwood and the Sound of Music, so am excited to see this. Already have the DVR programmed just in case we get busy.

I saw the show on Broadway a number of years ago, when Rebecca Luker played Maria. Much as I love the movie with Julie Andrews, I really liked the stage version.

The script they're using for the live presentation is the stage version of the musical, which does differ from the movie in a number of ways. Should be interesting.

I really like Carrie Underwood, and I really liked The Sound of Music movie with Julie Andrews so I'm really, really looking forward to the musical on TV! :)

I saw Carrie in "Soul Surfer" and thought she did all right as an actress, so I'm looking forward to seeing how she does in this role. I know her singing will be amazing. I enjoy almost all of her songs, but I get chills when I hear her sing How Great Thou Art. Wow!

When is it on tv? I've heard very little about it and would like to see it.
I like some of Carrie Underwood's music, she has a beautiful voice but I don't always like her song choices. Some of them come across as too shriek like to me

Thursday night, Dec. 5th, I believe at 8:00 on NBC.

She'll be here in KC at our outdoor theater performing the part next summer. I can't wait to see it live for myself. We did the show as our high school musical on year. It will be fun to see the stage show again after all these years.

Wouldn't miss it!!! I've seen the movie countless times and have memorized all the songs, including the ones in the play. I'll be singing along with the TV, much to my family's dismay!! (I can't sing worth a darn, but I do it anyway!) I will probably buy the CD when it comes out tomorrow, and the DVD if it comes out.
