November Exercise Challenge--No stuffed turkeys here! Time to get moving. :)

Hi, Thanks for the Central Park pics, we live only 40 minutes away without traffic, but that never happens! But, haven't been in the park in almost 2 years, shame on me.

Adding 60 minutes walking

60/1250

updating through post 43.
I am in for 900 again, determined to make it this time!

Started with a 60 zumba class

60/900
You can do it!:cheer2:

Adding 70 mins long run. Beautiful day for it. I also swallowed a bug - gross! Haha.

Thanks for hosting!
Ewwww. On the bug. :)

I just happened to take a few yesterday! Hope this isn't too off-topic for everyone.
Great pictures!

Take us off topic anytime you want :)

:thumbsup2

I am at 309/2000. :)
We ran at the Y on the tm this morning--it was cold. 5.25 miles.
Then hiked another 5 miles this afternoon. It was a gorgeous fall afternoon. I am pooped. Really should think about tapering for the race this weekend.:thumbsup2

In looking at the minutes it may not seem like an impressive workout but it was spent swimming and I have a tremendous fear of being in water I can't stand up in. But I want to be able to swim so I took myself to a college pool and did some work. I couldn't get myself to go all the way to the other end of the lap pool but I'm proud that I went by myself and I did swim pretty steady for 25 minutes, some if even in water that would have been over my head.

25 minutes

We were in NYC this weekend because DH and some friends ran the New York City Marathon. Between walking on Saturday at the expo, etc. and scream teaming on the course yesterday, I racked up some minutes.

11/2 - 30 mins walking
11/3 - 240 mins walking

Total 270/1300.

YAY for you hmack!!! :goodvibes
What is that they say about courage? It is not the absence of fear, but doing the thing anyway, even tho you fear it. Congrats on taking that first step!

mrsdrake - I think the statistic is that on average, we each ingest 200+ bugs per year. Not sure where that comes from, but I know I've read it....

dreamseeker - thank you for the wonderful pics. I've only been thru NYC changing planes, so it's like being there vicariously to see your photos.

Walked with my Monday buddy today, then took the doggie. Add 81 minutes, brings me to 373/1500.

Adding 40 mins again. 37 easy running and ill round it off with some assisted chin-ups and sit-ups.

170/1300

200 bugs, ewwwwwwww!!!!

Hmack, swimming is such a great workout and major props for toughing out your (now previous?!) fear of deep water and doing it anyway.

I finalized the October numbers today - just our small group engaged in almost 22000 minutes of exercise last month - that's amazing!!:cool1::cool1:

Congrats to all, and may we finish out the year strong!

30/800.
Got a jog in this weekend. I really want to go tonight so everyone cross their fingers I can squeeze it in!

I'm off to a slow start this month! Adding 95 minutes of all walking so far.

95/900
Thanks :)

That is a lot of minutes!
I feel like we are short a few people this month. Still hoping some people make it onto the thread. I hope the title didn't turn people off!

****
I was supposed to go the Y after work, but work was crazy, so I just came home and walked with Mike for ~1.7 miles. I am supposed to be tapering for the race so I won't beat myself up too much. Hope to hit the Y tomorrow. :)

Short walk - 23 minutes

133/1000

thanks for the kinds words about the swim. fear's still there, but practice, practice, practice will hopefully make it get less and less.

24 minutes today - Jillian Michaels Fastfix Kickboxing DVD, Workout #1 - Upper Body

Total now 125/1000.

11/03 80 min run- It was a beautiful fall morning. I enjoyed seeing the many different colors of leaves

11/04 60 min bike ride on the trainer. I watched a recording of the ING New York marathon! Wow, it was amazing to watch how easy some of the runners make it look! I am still feeling the soreness 2 weeks later from my first marathon and they finished in a time well over 3 hours faster then mine! CRAZY!

350/1800-Just have to keep trucking!

Rose - there is quite a bit of fluctuation, maybe folks are short on time to commit during the holiday season. When I hosted in April, there were 51 who set goals/reported in, but in October, there were only 24.

I still think your thread title is great; can't imagine folks not joining in for that reason...

30 run this morning followed by 15 min run/walk 150/1600 Thanks for hosting:). And I like your thread title.
