Ok, I'm slapping myself right now for not resisting the urge to read your Monsieur Paul review. Now of course I want to dine there in December. I had that filet when I was there (it was BdP then) and loved it. And that salad that you guys had looks like it's right up my alley. So is there anyway to fit it into our schedule? How many meals do you think we could squeeze into one day before we slip into a permanent food coma?

Hi Barb!! Your MP review was the first that I had ever read and that was the start of my curiosity. As dining plans keep moving around you never know we could find an open spot! Food coma is coming for sure!

I'm enjoying both your trip reprot & dining report. Imagine my surprise, when you post the picture of the line out the door at the 50's Prime Time Cafe & I'm in the photo. I thought to myself "I have that bag" then "wait a minute! that is me!!!" I'm in the orange tank with the orchid colored bag. It truly is a small world.

That is so funny that you were in my photo. Isn't it odd that I even posted that since it's not really part of the "dining" experience. That happened another time in one of my reviews. A young gal was in my photo and read my post. It would have been even better if we were seated near each other and were in each others' photos! I hope we were well behaved in line behind you!!

Wow, Monsieur Paul's looks amazing!! I love the fresh bread service-- definitely a way to control bread portions! And your beef looks amazing.

Hi Kylie! Yes, portion control with the bread since they have to come around and present it to you. Although I suppose you could ask for more than one at a time. The filet was pretty awesome!

Ugh… you are going to make me end up at 50's… I just KNOW it. That just looks amazing and a place I think we will all love. I've been thinking if I can get FP+ for TSM and TofT, then I may not NEED the early morning ressie at H&V, although it was fun! Hmm….

Monsieur Paul's looks lovely as well! I loved Chefs… so I'm sure I'd enjoy MP!

And the club level… sigh… one day!

It wouldn't be entirely bad Christen! The girls may like the fun servers there. I have no frame of reference for H&V but I know the kids must love it.

Chefs is one of my favorites as well. MP different but lovely!

The potato wrapped snapper at Flying Fish Cafe is delicious but not done so beautifully as Em's snapper from Monsieur Paul's. Here is a photo of my plate from 2010:

Kids chicken meals! Perfect. I need to think of that more often. I just can't eat as much as I used to after losing weight, so I try to order smaller meals as often as I can.

Listen, if they foist snails upon you without you knowing, you can pass them my way. It's my favorite thing there. When it was the Bistro, but to me it's just been a name change.

I don't see it on the menu, but when Jason and I ate there about two years ago, they had a Grand Marnier soufflé that was amazing for dessert! To die for.

Hi Charlotte! It was a wonderful place and if you get a chance yes, drag your hubby there, err I mean plan to go there! I know how that works. My hubby has no knowledge of anything dining at WDW and is at my mercy.

No I am sticking.........Your report mad me think about asking my DD if she wanted to switch around our ADRs (we don't have them yet ,to early but know what we want) But no I am going to stick with what we have........but yummm

Hi there and thanks so much for joining over here too!! It's so hard to stick with a plan sometimes where you read dining reviews. If our trips were 3-4 weeks in length it would be less of an issue but yeah. At least you know what you want already.

All caught up here too!! Love the Fried chicken at 50's! It's so yummy!

All the CL offerings look fabulous! I may book CL at AKL in May, we will have to see how finances are and if there are any Bounceback offers in December!

The salad at Monsieur Paul is the one Hunter got during our French Regional Lunch when he couldn't have the mussels. It was fabulous!

I think we all should have booked 2 weeks in December. 1 week is not enough!

I showed my wife your pictures and review of MP and she is excited as I am about going there; and to think, I actually cancelled this ADR once and then an hour later rebooked it.

Thank you Bob! Coincidently, I had cancelled this ADR and then re-booked it after reconsideration so I almost didn't get this in our dining line up. Needless to say that I'm glad that we did eat here.

Day 7: Thurs. August 22, 2013 Yacht Club CL Breakfast

We ditched our Captains Grille breakfast reservation, once again opting to be lazy and sleep in then grab breakfast in the lounge. We didnt head up to the Regatta Club lounge until nearly 10am. It had very light crowds up there at that time.

Breakfast options were essentially the same every day with bagels, muffins, danishes, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and dry cereal choices.
I grabbed a bagel, fresh melon, and a small bowl of oatmeal (Splenda is out, which is my sweetener of choice.) Em went with a bowl of Froot Loops (shes a kid still, what can I say?) a bagel, and a banana. The lounge closed while we were up there so they started to cart the food away.

Day 7: Thurs. August 22, 2013 – Teppan Edo Lunch

We had a 1:30pm lunch reservation at Teppan Edo. This was our 5th or 6th time to eat here. It has never disappointed us as far as the food or the service is concerned. The interaction with the chef and other guests are what really makes this a great place to eat.

I believe Teppan Edo is Japanese for “arrive at the restaurant soaked from the rain.” The past 3 times that we have dined here we’ve been caught in afternoon thunderstorms that have resulted us being soggy and limp from the untoward weather. The nice thing about this restaurant is their hospitality since they welcome soaked guests with hand towels to dry off.

We were seated with a family of 5 in the teppan dining room. We were 1 shy of a full table. The family wasn’t too talkative so we didn’t really interact which is completely fine since I understand that some people only go for the food or the cooking ”show”. Ha ha!!

Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining are the two restaurants in all of WDW where you will feel completely respected and honored to be dining in their establishment with the series of bows that take place throughout the dining experience. We were welcomed with a bow, seated with a bow, greeted by our server and chef with bows, and thanked for dining there with a bow. Honestly, I don’t know the etiquette regarding returning these most gracious acts of respect; however, it is appreciated.

Our Teppan chef, Kenta, bowed and welcomed Em and I back. We thought that was odd since we HAD been there before but we had not had him as our teppan chef. I think he was confusing us with someone else.

Our orders were taken and Em opted once again to have the veggie dish while I ordered the shrimp and chicken – same as always. Em was asked if she was a vegetarian, which was nice since it would have changed the way they prepared her food.

Kenta ladled out the sauces before he started his cooking show. I said that I loved the ginger sauce and if I could sub the “ranch” for double ginger that would be good. He chef responded two gingers for the ginger! Cute!
We saw the usual “Minnie” silhouette in oil, the onion volcano, and the shrimp tail flipped into his chef hat. Still an entertaining show.

We were started with the veggies and noodles. I didn’t dig in until all the food was cooked and on my plate. That’s probably a mutation of my OCD/organization thing but who can know?

Kenta asked if I liked sesame seeds and when I said yes, he sprinkled another layer over my veggies. He was also messing with the kids at that table and would pretend to throw seeds at them. They finally caught on that his serving spoon was empty.

As for the food – I LOVED IT!! Honestly, I know this isn’t any better than most local teppan restaurants but we’ve always enjoyed the food and the entertainment. It’s just a different dining experience that just seems to click for us. I say DON’T CHANGE A THING TEPPAN EDO!

Ueno: Chicken Breast & Shrimp ($27.95)​

Em's Veggie option - Seasonal Vegetables ($17.95)​

Em cracked the “code” for the teppan table. I know the table isn’t always 500 blazing degrees but I wondered how they turned up the heat. The chef pushes the corresponding red button on the wall for the cooking table.

I am not a fan of any of the desserts in the Japan pavilion but Em wanted the chocolate ginger cake so it was ordered, delivered, eaten, and a sigh escaped her lips!

Although Teppan Edo does not accept TiW, they used our AP 10% discount and saved $5.88.

We are booked once again for December so I look forward to returning.​

Ha ha!! I can relate to the idea that all input is appreciated and welcome - it just may not make the final cut! At least for this one it sounds like your DH should be happy.

We've never done any of the Asian restaurants in World Showcase. When I ask Hunter about it he never wants to book them. I think Asian food is more a whim thing for us! It looks good though! Boo on no TiW discount! Lol

Well, I love the report as always but it's really throwing a wrench in my spreadsheets for our upcoming trip (150 days, roughly but who's counting? I AM!!)! No complaints here! Each time I read a review, I contemplate adding that particular spot in, some I have moved around, some are on the short list for next time. I mulled over Teppan several times before your report (may have even booked and later cancelled it), and now it's booked.. Again. This trip I'm going for heavy on fun/entertaining restaurants, so I think it should fit in nicely. Another revision to the spreadsheet printed!

Okay, I just ate dinner and I'm hungry all over again looking at your update (which somehow I missed). We ate at Teppan Edo last December with Nicki and Todd and Andy and Mark and really, really enjoyed it (except for the screaming child). We'd like to go back but I think we will do it only if we go in April since we go to the best Japanese Steakhouse in Naples every September.
