The not so live version of dining w/ Disers, in Castles & on Safari! The Wrap! 2/26

All I can say is wow. What a great report. The food looks fantastic. There are only 2 restaurants at WDW that we have not dined at Monsieur Paul & The Wave. I guarantee after reading your review we will be dining at Monsieur Paul on our next trip.

Brenda, I'll be back to read later, but wanted to wish you, Em, Michael and the rest of your family a Happy Halloween.

Day 6: Wednesday, August 21, 2013 - Club Level Evening Appetizers

Inserting a bonus section here that wasn’t included in my live dining review. We partook of some evening appetizers since we had an 8 hour gap between meals. (And you don't know that I snuck in a little snack from DHS earlier but that's not been revealed yet...)
Was your little snack a carrot cake cookie? I seem to remember something about you liking them. ;)

The Regatta Club lounge had out an assortment of crudités, potstickers and some type of meat pastry, PB&J, apple slices with caramel, cheeses, dried fruit, crackers and bread points, hummus, tomato & mozzarella salad, olives, and some unidentifiable tomato dish in cups. There were a selection of wines; a chardonnay, zinfandel, pinot noir, and merlot.

I stuck with the crudités and dip since I didn’t want to spoil my appetite for dinner while Em sampled a few of the hot and cold items.

Honestly, no idea!

Could this have been gazpacho?

Day 6: August 21, 2013 - Monsieur Paul Dinner Part 2

About this time Philippe came over to welcome us and say hi. He remembered me from February (apparently I have a reputation now!) and recalled that we “met” (or whatever the French word for argued is) at Chefs de France, not here at Monsieur Paul. Exactly. We chatted briefly and then Nicolaus showed up with some champagne and club soda cocktail that was compliments of Philippe. Still trying to make me feel better with champagne I see!! He said the name of the drink probably 3 times and I still can’t recall what it was. However, it was pretty tasty. Here's a short video of me introducing the cocktail... wish I knew what this was called.

That was really nice of him to try and make up for his behavior last February. The food there looks fantastic. I love Em's fish dish. :)

Happy Halloween!! I think the pumpkin bread is offered year around at Starbucks. I know I had it least once here during the summer.

Ok, add this restaurant to my wish list. For the bread alone!! Your entree looked amazing too. I'm also a huge nerd for design & those menus look so cool! I love the font they used for the front. Classy but not stuffy. I think I'm going to have Rich read this entry to boost my TiW argument. Thanks for that! I'm so glad you guys had a good time & got to experience this place. Thanks for sharing with us! And of course, that you are getting champagne from Phillippe during this trip too! :)

That looks like a wonderful meal (Monsieur Paul). I will definitely talk to my hubby about trying to go there.

Ok, I'm slapping myself right now for not resisting the urge to read your Monsieur Paul review. Now of course I want to dine there in December. ;) I had that filet when I was there (it was BdP then) and loved it. And that salad that you guys had looks like it's right up my alley. So is there anyway to fit it into our schedule? How many meals do you think we could squeeze into one day before we slip into a permanent food coma?

What a wonderful review of Monsieur Paul
Brenda I am looking forward to dining with you in December as you seen to often get free champagne ;)

I'm enjoying both your trip reprot & dining report. Imagine my surprise, when you post the picture of the line out the door at the 50's Prime Time Cafe & I'm in the photo. I thought to myself "I have that bag" then "wait a minute! that is me!!!" I'm in the orange tank with the orchid colored bag. It truly is a small world.

Wow, Monsieur Paul's looks amazing!! I love the fresh bread service-- definitely a way to control bread portions! And your beef looks amazing.

I'm finally caught up!

Ugh… you are going to make me end up at 50's… I just KNOW it. That just looks amazing and a place I think we will all love. I've been thinking if I can get FP+ for TSM and TofT, then I may not NEED the early morning ressie at H&V, although it was fun! Hmm….

Monsieur Paul's looks lovely as well! I loved Chefs… so I'm sure I'd enjoy MP!

And the club level… sigh… one day! :goodvibes

Again thanks for the club level food report, I am very much looking forward to our first and probably only club level stay.

Your meal at Monsieur Paul's looked amazing, unless we decide to put our ds into the kids club it won't make our list this time though unfortunately.

The potato wrapped snapper at Flying Fish Cafe is delicious but not done so beautifully as Em's snapper from Monsieur Paul's. Here is a photo of my plate from 2010:

I really enjoyed my meal at MP last year...It's on my list to go back!

Food with a side of sarcasm is my favorite! Because that's like eating with me everyday. :lmao:

Kids chicken meals! Perfect. I need to think of that more often. I just can't eat as much as I used to after losing weight, so I try to order smaller meals as often as I can.

Haha. Your fudge comment had me thinking Pirates of the Caribbean. "Why is the fudge always gone?"

Okay, so I had to go back and read your Brown Derby thing. All I can say is, really?! Unreal. I don't even have words, and I always have words!

Listen, if they foist snails upon you without you knowing, you can pass them my way. It's my favorite thing there. ;) When it was the Bistro, but to me it's just been a name change.

I don't see it on the menu, but when Jason and I ate there about two years ago, they had a Grand Marnier soufflé that was amazing for dessert! To die for.

Glad that you and Philippe can pretty much get along. For the moment. ;)

Love the updates! It looks like MP is a wonderful place to eat at! Maybe next trip I can drag J into it! Oh wait, I plan everything! He just pays for it! Haha

No I am sticking.........Your report mad me think about asking my DD if she wanted to switch around our ADRs (we don't have them yet ,to early but know what we want) But no I am going to stick with what we have........but yummm

All caught up here too!! Love the Fried chicken at 50's! It's so yummy!

All the CL offerings look fabulous! I may book CL at AKL in May, we will have to see how finances are and if there are any Bounceback offers in December!

The salad at Monsieur Paul is the one Hunter got during our French Regional Lunch when he couldn't have the mussels. It was fabulous!

I think we all should have booked 2 weeks in December. 1 week is not enough!

All the bread at Monsieur Paul looks good.
The entire meal looked so god but I would have demanded snails. LOL
The meal looked so good.

Wow Monsieur Paul looks amazing! And you really made an impression on the manager... Drink and dessert?! Sounds like a terrific night and looking forward to your TR to hear why you were late.

It was really wonderful! Ha ha! stay tuned.....;)

I haven't been on the dining board in ages, but your review of Monseiour Paul has brought be out of my hibernation! Excellent, excellent!

Hi, I'm so glad to see you here! Thank you for reading and commenting!

Ok seriously, I'm living under a Dis-rock apparently because when you said you were eating at Monsieur Paul I wracked my brain trying to figure out where that was. Knew Bistro was having a makeover but didn't know about the name change! :rotfl:
I must admit that for a beautiful, classy, fancy dinner, I laughed my way through the report at the many efforts of Phillippe to make it up to you for last time! :lmao:
Besides the gifts, dinner looks absolutely wonderful. It's so beautiful inside! Love those chandeliers!

It took me a while to catch on with the new name as well! It really was a nice place. My photos don't do it justice. However, I know a certain someone whose photos definitely would! ;)

Brenda your are famous wherever you go at WDW! The pics of the CL offerings are exactly what we had the BC last month. Again I thought the spread was quite good. MP looks like a dream dinner. For my next big trip, whenever that may be, I think we are going to have to try this place.

Hi Lori! I think YC/BC must mirror each other for their CL food. Makes sense I suppose.

MP is definitely a great place to put on your list. I was glad that it exceeded our expectations.

All I can say is wow. What a great report. The food looks fantastic. There are only 2 restaurants at WDW that we have not dined at Monsieur Paul & The Wave. I guarantee after reading your review we will be dining at Monsieur Paul on our next trip.

I will tell you that MP is one of the better dinners that we have had - in all of our trips. In the video that I'll post you'll see that it was definitely a favorite thus far in the trip.

That is so cool that you've experienced so many Dis restaurants. You have a very good point of reference for all dining review.

Brenda, I'll be back to read later, but wanted to wish you, Em, Michael and the rest of your family a Happy Halloween.

Awwwww I loved that Kathy! Thank you! :goodvibes

Was your little snack a carrot cake cookie? I seem to remember something about you liking them. ;)

Could this have been gazpacho?

That was really nice of him to try and make up for his behavior last February. The food there looks fantastic. I love Em's fish dish. :)

You know me so well. I will not be coy and evasive... you are right on the money!

That very well could be gazpacho. You know your food too!! :thumbsup2

Happy Halloween!! I think the pumpkin bread is offered year around at Starbucks. I know I had it least once here during the summer.

Good to know Jennifer since I'm a big pumpkin bread fan!

Ahhhh the bread alone was fabulous! We were presented with menus to so that is another thing that they were great about - we were able to take some home.

Philippe, ever the charmer in the end.
