We are in the world right now and using Magic Bands, our experience has been awesome so far.
If anyone has any questions, I could try and answer them.

I'm glad to hear you are having a positive experience with Magic Bands. We are leaving in a few weeks so I am very excited and scared at once! I would love to hear how MB and FP+ has changed the way you tour the parks. Also, what would be the best and worst attraction/show for FP+? Thank you for taking the time to write :)

I loved the MB in Sept but it was also not fully rolled out and not busy so you could change your selections the morning of with still lots of choices. I don't think it will always be like that.

I don't think there is a WORST because every family is different. If you had a DD who HAD to see the princess then FP+ for Ariel, ETWB and Princess Fairytale hall might be good choices but others would say "no way!"

We checked in today and our customized magic bands were waiting for us at check in. Mine worked fine but my fiancé's wasn't working. Not to worry!!!! We went back to the reception and asked them. Turns out his wasn't activated. His was activated and works (as a door key at least). I used mine for out first Quick Service meal.

I have small wrists, so I the magic band fits pretty well on me. My fiancé had a thicker wrist and he says it can be a little irritable. It would also be nice if they had a clock cause I keep looking at it to tell time and there is no time.

We are park hoppers and with FP+ you can only set up 3 per day in ONE park. So we would set up morning or evening FP so we could still park hop if we wanted to. Use the FP on the most popular attractions or your must dos. For example at DHS we used FP+ on TSM, TT, RnR, then we waited for all others. If on the dining plan , get your ADR's first then wrap you FP around your dining.
The great thing is that it is very flexible, you can use it as much or as little as you want. I love it for opening doors and using it for DDP and park tickets. No paper tickets or plastic cards to remember.
One little glitch is that the Fastpasses are set up per guest not per reservation so if 2 people of 4 want to go on a ride twice while the others sit out you need to take the other 2 bands with you and scan them second.
Overall I think it has been great, if you don't think of it as the be all end all and use it as a tool to help you tour you will get a lot more out of it. Enjoy

To confirm, FP will still exist correct? We are there in March and staying offsite so I have to cut lines the old fashioned way.

Good point about the worst choices .. I have to very small DDs so no big rides for us this time! I was wondering if I should use my FP+ for rides/shows without traditional FP? Like the Speedway or HM...

Glad to hear it s such a positive experience! Great tip about just wrapping FP+ around ADRs. Thanks :).

That is a good strategy for now since you can still use your KTTW card to get paper FP.

In all my examples we used only the app to set up FP+ we didn't double dip using are cards as well. To be honest for us, having an ADR and 3 FP+ set up in each day really did eat up a large portion of the day. You could easily still wait for 3-4more attractions and fill out your day.

The only issue I have found in the last few days is that the FP lines and stand by lines seem to have gotten longer and they have put FP lines on basically all of the attractions, some that really don't need a FP line like IASW. I think it gives Disney the opportunity to list them on the app and give people the illusion the are cutting back on wait times.

The current rumor is the old fastpas system is going away sometime next year, no official dates have been said yet. They are currently working on putting in kiosk for people to make fastpass + reservations and change existing ones.

I agree. We used only 1 or 2 of our FP+ per day and 1 or 2 of paper FP because there just isn't a heck of a lot of time.

But HM and ETWB can be excellent uses for FP+ in the late afternoon when lines can be about 40 minutes or so, and since there is no paper FP available for these attractions, that usually means there is more availability if you want to make changes to your FP+ in the afternoon.

We used them in August and loved them. Much more relaxed trip for us even thought parks were packed. There were times when we changed our FP+ even though time had expired.which was nice to do. Double doped at mk since it was an option but really didn't need to most other times except for a few exception like TSM, TT & Soarin'

A great improvement by Disney in our opinion.

It is great to hear you were able to change selections even after expiry! Did you use the App to make changes or the Kiosks? We will mostly likely also just grab a few extra paper FP at MK. I was even having a hard time selecting 3 options at HS and AK ( this trip will be a toddler -centred trip). I am so excited to try this new system :)

We're headed down from Ottawa in 2 weeks. Thanks for the live updates!

We've been reading various forums on DISboards and, from what we see, the last couple of weeks appear to have have seen fewer paper FPs issued, as capacity has been shifted over to FP+. So paper FP are running out as early as 9:30.

At the same time, we've hear that guests with KTTW cards have been able to use both paper FP and FP+ -- good news for those who are savvy and arrive at parks early, not so good for others.

We've also heard that Disney is in the process of shutting down the paper FP system as we speak. (The date I'd seen in some other threads was October 27.)

All of this is based on second-hand info. What are you seeing down there?

Thanks!

We got to Epcot at around 10 this morning and the wait time board said that Soarin was a 90 min wait and FP return was 7:30-8:30.
Paper FP's are still alive and well as of today! I did not see any indication that they were going away.
We had EMH until 1:00am tonight at MK and everything was a walk on after 11:30 or so, now that is the way tour a park!!

Regular paper fastpass for popular rides can be out as quickly as 9:30.

You can double up on regular paper fastpass every hour and have your fastpass+ selections as well.

No sign of paper fastpass gone yet :)

Sorry if this has already been mentioned or in another thread, I haven't seen it anywhere but,
are Canadians getting their customized Magic Bands delivered to their homes or are they waiting for you at the resort,
and if so, did you have to put in the resort address at some point?

We are in Ottawa, arriving in WDW on 11/11. We customized our Magic Bands on the My Disney Experience website. The name of our resort is clearly indicated on the MB customization confirmation page, along with the message: "Your MagicBands are shipping soon to either your confirmed shipping address or Walt Disney World Resort hotel."

The MDE website states that MBs will be sent to the resort for non-U.S. guests -- since the system seems to have a good handle on which resort that is, we're hoping that that's exactly what will happen.

If your MB customization confirmation page does not clearly indicate the resort, I'd give Disney a call. If it does, I think you're good.

Great. Just so I'm clear, you need to have a KTTW card (not just a MB) to get paper FPs, correct? If so, any suggestions on what to say to the CM at check in to get the card? We're hearing that Disney is actively discouraging the distribution of KTTW cards now that MBs are nearing full roll-out.
