Did Someone Say Adventure?! An Oct '13 TR! (Updated 5/27/14)

A little late but I'm here!

Glad your parents enjoyed and that you love MNSSHP! I really enjoyed seeing your Instagram pictures!

Yay for Jetblue! Out of curiosity, where in NJ do you live?! It's totally closer for us to fly out of Newark and we somehow always end up flying from JFK. :confused3

The 80s must have been a fun section to stay in!

We totally went the wrong way at MCO last time too. I get so turned around in there!

Haha it can be pretty confusing!

Yay, you started the trip report! I can't wait to hear all about it. Pop is a family favorite in our house! I also just customized our magicbands for our upcoming trip, and it's good to hear you didn't have many problems with them.:cool1: We're going to be there for Food and Wine Festival, so I'm excited to hear about your experience with that too! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to read more!

Thanks for joining! I hope you have a good experience with your magic bands, and how exciting that you will be attending F&W!!

Just lettin ya know I am reading! I love child free TRs! Nothing against kids, I just don't have any so I have a hard time relating and getting into the reports of those who do.

I stayed in the 80s section of Pop on our last trip but the poster in our room was a little different from the one you posted. I am now wondering if they updated it or if there are actually multiple versions of the posters within each decade. I guess I will see what happens on my next Pop stay in March...requested the 80s section.

Because I am a weirdo with an over active imagination, the picture of the in flight music made me chuckle. I had this mental image in my head of some cool collected radio announcers voice advertising Jet Blue's all day, every day music selection of 80s, 90s, and Demons. :rotfl2:

Thanks for joining in! I'm glad this is a TR you can relate to! :goodvibes Interesting, now you have me wondering if the posters vary by room!

Joining! Excited to follow along with your first ever trip report - you are off to a great start.

That is so awesome that you are able to share your love and knowledge of Disney aworld with your parents - I think fair to say the a lot has changed there in 20 years ;)

Thank you for the kind words and for joining in! They were amazed (in a good way!) by how different things are now! I see you were in Disney just after us, I will be sure to follow along on your TR :)

Hi!! I'm glad you enjoyed my IG pics! I live in Weehawken, just outside the Lincoln Tunnel. Maybe one day you will end up flying out of Newark! It can sometimes be hectic, but I guess what airport isn't right? haha I definitely liked the 80s, the Rubiks Cubes looked so cool at night all lit up!

I don't think we waited too long for a bus and made it to DtD pretty quickly! We got off at the Marketplace and our first stop was the Christmas store! We spent a little time looking around and admiring everything. My dad bought something for a co-worker but other than that we didn't buy anything! Next stop was Pin Traders! I purchased a couple of mystery pins and also traded on the huge pin board they have! We walked around and admired the Lego statues outside the Lego store.

We also stopped at Guest Relations so we could redeem our PP+ card, and also exchange our paper park tickets for plastic ones. At this point we were all pretty hungry so we decided it was time to eat. We ended up deciding on Raglan Road! We did not make any reservations because honestly it was a last minute decision where we would be going. When we got to the counter it was about a 45 minute wait. However, outdoor seating was open and available with no wait. It was pretty hot but we decided to go for it since we didn't think we could wait that long. We ended up getting a seat in the shade and it was actually pretty perfect. I ordered a burger, Mom ordered Fish & Chips, and Dad ordered I believe the Banger & Booz. Everything was delicious! I tasted Mom's fish & chips and actually was super dissapointed that I didn't order it for myself. Luckily she is very kind and offered me some of hers in exchange for some of my burger :) Aren't Moms the best?!

With our bellies satisfied we were ready to take on WORLD OF DISNEY!

Dad decided to sit this one out while Mom & I went in and admired all the wonderful stuff.

We bought a few things for ourselves and I also bought some souveniers for friends back home. We were feeling a little tired and since it was Saturday night, DtD was getting pretty packed. We figured we might as well head back to the hotel and relax while we had the opportunity! Before we left we did make a quick stop at Goofy's Candy Co :) We didn't buy anything but it sure is nice to look around.

I especially wanted one of these Rice Krispies Treats cakes!

We waited a little bit for a bus and once we got back to our hotel our luggage was waiting for us! We showered, organized ourselves, and went to bed as we had a BUSY day ahead of us! :yay:

Haha, isn't it completely impossible not to take photos of the legos?

I've never been to Raglan Road, but I seriously love that your fries are wrapped in that paper stuff. And I can only imagine how good the fish must be there.

Yup, you need that extra energy from a meal to tackle World of Disney, let alone on a Saturday night. I just want everything in there! Sadly, my bank account does not.

Sounds like a great afternoon at DTD! I hope those Lego Snow White statues are still there when we go--they are so cute! All the food looks super yummy and how adorable is cinderellas carriage above world of Disney?!?

Sounds like a fun time at DTD. We love Raglan Road - hit it up every trip. Can't not get the bread pudding though.

I agree that everyone is practically required to take pictures of the Lego statues

Sounds like a great first day. I haven't been to Raglan in a while - we'll get there one of these trips.

You're only one day in and your TR is already getting me so excited for our trip! We are going to DTD on our first day too, so I'm just reading along and picturing us doing what you did and ahhh! This is a nice change from the anxiety I've been feeling about all this FP & FP+ mess. I hope you get in a few more updates before we leave, I'm loving it so far!

Oh my god. I need to get one of the rice crispy cakes! They look delicious! :yay:

Right?! So cool!

The legos are irresistable! Yes, the fish was so tasty! Bank accounts and World of Disney are mortal enemies! :rotfl2:

I love all the decorations at World of Disney..it just shows how much effort Disney puts into EVERY single thing they do! I am pretty sure all the legos will still be there, they've been there since my January trip so I don't think they're going away anytime soon!

Following along! :)

Yay, welcome! :yay:

Hi, count me in! We were there on the same dates! :)

Thanks for joining! Awesome, did you have a wonderful trip?!

Thanks! I am so glad we decided to try it out!

Sounds like a great first day. I haven't been to Raglan in a while - we'll get there one of these trips.

Thanks! I am definitely a fan now, hopefully you get back there soon!

Aw this is such a sweet comment! And I'm glad I can help get you excited for your trip, not too much longer to go now!! :cool1:

I can't believe you went into Goofy's Candy Co and managed to not buy anything. You are my hero haha! I have the worst sweet tooth.

Day 1- Arriving at Disney!

Boarding time eventually; when we got on the plane I was immediately impressed with JetBlue! There was SO much legroom and the seats were very comfy. We took off right on time and were told we'd even be landing about half hour early, woo hoo :cool1: I spent the flight watching some TV, listening to music, and enjoying my free snack of chocolate chip cookies :)

JetBlue impressed me too, from now on, if I can help it all, that is my airline of choice!

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom

We woke up bright and early for our first full day in Disney! We all got ready and headed to the Food Court for a light breakfast. We headed to the bus stop and waited a few minutes for the bus to MAGIC KINGDOM! Honestly I don't remember how long we waited for buses, but it was never usually too long, maybe 10 or 15 minutes at most. The recurring thing though was whichever park bus we would be waiting for, buses for EVERY other park would arrive before ours did. This seemed to happen every day which I guess is prety funny!

We arrived at MK and were through the turnstiles by around 8:20..super early today! We admired the train station and took some photos while we waited.

Finally at 8:45 the Welcome Show began!

Now maybe it was because it was our first day and we were at MK, or maybe it was because it was my first time seeing the show, but I got a littttle emotional not gonna lie! I think I was just overwhelmed with so many happy feelings! Luckily I had my sunglasses on, so I pulled myself together without anyone knowing ;) I enjoyed the Welcome Show! It's short but very cute! Once the show was over we headed in and took in all the magic on Main Street! We were all very giddy and excited! We stopped for a few photos and took it slowly as we headed to Tomorrowland.

This is one of my favorite spots to stop and take a picture of the castle!

Once we got to TL our very first ride of the trip was...Space Mountain! There was no wait and we walked right on.

035 by missangelalexis, on Flickr

*I am still waiting to order my PhotoPass CD. I had a bunch of missing pictures and they are slowly being added to my account..luckily so far they have found every single one though! When it arrives I'll make sure I do a post with some pics I wasn't able to include in the TR yet such as ride photos and magic shots!*

From there we headed to new Fantasyland to meet Ariel in her Grotto! The wait was about 10 minutes. Ariel was cute, though I cannot remember what we talked about!

We were going to ride Under The Sea but the wait was 20 minutes so we decided to Fastpass it. After grabbing FP I noticed The Tremaines were out with practically no line! I didn't plan on meeting them as I met them last trip, but you can't pass it up when there's no line! We waited about 5 minutes before meeting the hilarious trio!

045 by missangelalexis, on Flickr

This is when the character pixie dust really kicks in! We then headed over to the Fairy Godmother's area. I planned on just waiting there for her next greet but it turns out she was still out meeting for the greet prior! We made it in line just in time before it closed! She was very nice but the interaction was pretty short.

We did so well on time that we were able to head right over to Peter & Wendy to wait for their next greet! We waited about 15 minutes before it was our turn. They were PHENOMENAL. Seriously one of the best greets of the trip! They asked how old I was turning and I told them I didn't want to say because it's OLD. They told me they know a trick to make you younger, add the 2 digits of your age together! So I told them I was 8 and they seemed satisfied with that! Peter also wasn't happy that my pen was blue, not green! They were very playful and fun.

At this point I think we grabbed FP for Winnie the Pooh before heading over to Under the Sea. I love this ride, I'm such a fan of The Little Mermaid :goodvibes After that we headed back and rode It's A Small World with no wait and Winnie the Pooh with our FP. At some point I also caught my first glimpse of the Tangled bathroom area. Ah i loved it, it is so well themed!

To Be Continued....

Awwwww that's so sweet that you got emotional during the morning show. Also, I totally get it. It's especially great since it's the only one left anywhere. So much more special.

Oh you cannot pass up meeting the step sisters. They are more fun than almost anything. Love them.

Ooooh, I LOVE the idea of simply adding the digits together for age. From now on, that is the new rule.

What a wonderful MK morning!

I just love the MK opening show, especially on your first day at Disney, so magical!

I love all the meet and greets! The Tremines and Peter Pan are on my must meet list for December!

I am SO excited to see the Tangled bathrooms, weird but true! Tangled is one of my fav Disney movies I can't wait to see the area!

Love your meet and greet interactions! Reading about those kinds of fun interactions make me want to do more character meets. I really haven't met any characters since I was a little kid, and I don't remember what they were like then. The Tremaines sound especially fun!

I will probably tear up during the morning show at MK too, and during Wishes. If only I could wear sunglasses at night too!

I can't wait to see the Tangled rest area! I wish they had made more of a Tangled section than a rest area, but I will take what I can get!
