someone else's name on my disney dining pin

I'm pretty frustrated about this- wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. (and if there was a resolution).

I booked a trip, staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins for Jan 12, 2014. (used AAA). Just hotel and park tickets package.
I got a free dining pin email yesterday. I called AAA today to add it- they tried. They called Disney because it wouldn't add.

Apparently, even though this pin was sent to me, at my email address, it's somehow assigned to a friend of mine. Disney will not let me use it because it's not assigned to my name, and this friend is not traveling with me this trip.

I don't know WHY the pin is assigned to my friend. We stayed at The Pop Century together in Oct 2009, same room, my reservation and she was my guest. I paid for the vacation package with my CC.

I sent an email to guest relations asking them to please look into this, and I am waiting for a reply. (When I called Disney myself, that's what they told me to do, as they said they couldn't change it anyway, because I bought it through AAA).

So has anyone ever had anything like this happen? What was the outcome?

Just commenting on the "strange" scrambled eggs that goes for "Disney resort guest history." Making my present reservations by phone, the first thing the CM asked was if I was still living at an address in Florida that I hadn't lived at since 1995. (No, I live in WV, same address the last 10 years.) My previous trip, the CM asked if my address was in Denver. (No, I live in WV, same address the last 10 years.) My daughter who lives in Denver came with us that trip, but I was the primary reservation holder. It just seems as if every time Disney tweaks their computers, all your info gets blown around in a big clear ball, like the lotto numbers, and anything might come up as being your current info.

Sorry, OP, that the pin wasn't in your name. I have read these stories before on these forums, and in those cases, the pin code couldn't be redone in the email-holder's name.

It is hit or miss (mostly miss) on whether or not they will allow it to be used. While you are waiting, have AAA book the Stay, Play Dine offer that came out today. It isn't as good as free dining, but it is still a pretty good savings. Good luck! :goodvibes

I'd agree with this. It's mostly miss.

This happens when people bring friends or they book trips for people and change the email on that reservation to their own. It's one of the biggest reasons they say the email needs to go to the person on the reservation, not who is paying, etc.
