~~ Sew hot, Hot, HOT! ~~ A sweltering Aug 2013 TR ~ Pre-Trippie link posted! ~ 10/31!

I'm trying to keep up with your trip report! Darn work keeps getting in my way ;)

I love your last two bags, especially the Halloween bag!!

A's pictures of your arrival are great! I think that's how we all feel when we open that door for the first time (unless there's someone in the room - been there done that )

GREAT photopass pictures - you sure know how to get your money's worth out of something :thumbsup2

LOVE the happy dance photos! That's exactly how I feel whenever I get to Disney.

The Ghiradelli sounds marvelous!

I just love those first day pics of you getting in your room. I am sure I will do the same thing, so excited to go to WDW. Just love that Disney feeling!!

Those pictures of you on your first day absolutely do capture that moment. That moment of I'm here!!!!!!

DisneyQuest gets SUPER crowded at night. It's actually best to go early in the morning.

We always loved the Pirates one at DQ. We actually had a DQ for a while in Chicago. It's been closed for a long time now, but my friends and I had season passes and used to go frequently. We were very depressed when it closed. It was much better when it was newer and they were plugging money in it. But if you're not a gamer, than it's definitely not up your alley.

Ugh. That sounded like a horrific bus ride.

Finally caught up after what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend!! All started Friday after my Dr.'s appointment. Baby is doing great, has a strong heart beat and according to Sarah the heartbeat sounded like a volcano. :lmao: The kids thought it was pretty cool to actually be able to hear the baby. This was the first appointment that I had brought them too. So anyways back o the busyness.... DH called me as I'm leaving my Dr.s appointment to say his cousin wanted wings and of course we met them. Had to kill time for them to get there. After dinner we ran to the mall and got some final things I'd been meaning to get Sarah for school (pants, jacket, etc.). Saturday I was only supposed to have a house party (it's a party where the company sends you stuff for people to try. No sales required at all!! This one was for toys for older boys.) So DH took James to Safeway, Costco, and Big 5 while that was going on in the pouring down rain!!! James loved every moment of it though. Then I was informed we had friends coming over, which was fine since we don't see them enough with all of our busy schedules. Had a great afternoon with them. Then Sunday was only supposed to be a birthday party but we realized that Jeremy needed a new bike so before the party off we went. Found one at Walmart and he loves it!! I need a weekend from my weekend!! :rotfl:

Love all the pictures. You guys are having so much fun! Can't wait to read what had you guys so excited!!

I'm back from my week at and I think that I'm finally caught up. It was really hot while we were down tere and there were a couple of days that we had heavy rain fall.
I'm sorry about your burger at SciFi. We've eaten there several times and never had an issue with the food.
The photopass pictures turned out great. I love your expressions in the ride photos.
We had issues with the monorails, too. When we ate at Ohana, the resort line lost power. We had to take a bus to downtown Disney and then get on the Port Orlenes bus and like you, stop at every Riverside stop. it took over an hour to get to French Quarter. On friday, we waited for 45 minutes for a monorail to EPCOT. They really need to update the system.
I love the Halloween bag and can't wait to see your latest project.
Liz

Oh the Gaston pics....it was so much fun watching you guys interact with him. I remember laughing my butt off when I saw you squeeze his muscle :rotfl2: He was hilarious!

And I just love the series of shots of you doing your arrival dance. But....I think it would have been more appropriate if you had done this little dance in the lobby with me ::yes::

Love the Godmother bag. Stunning.

Glad you did DQ. I have always wondered about that. Maybe when Bradey gets older. I'm sure there will come a time when he likes video games...try as I might to keep him away from them...maybe we will try it then.

OMG!!!! - We forgot to visit the Fairies this past July. :confused3

Love T-Rex Restaurant, eat there every year. :thumbsup2 Signed up for the dining card at Rain Forrest before we left home and received a 20 Welcome New Member and a 20 Birthday Wish credit. Able to take 40$ off at T-Rex off our bill this past July.

Love the pic with you in the room. As the OP replied "We are finally here"

Good Morning D!

I love the "capture the moment" Pictures Alli took of you! It really does scream "Finally we're Home"!

Yah - I just love them, the minute she showed me she had taken them, I told here I wanted her to post them in my TR... Well, we all know how that went - so I stole them off the laptop and posted them myself. LOL

You have been a busy lady in your sewing room, the fairy Godmother bag is adorable!

THanks!

I miss WDW so much right now..... I haven't changed my ticker yet because I hate when the countdown seems so far away.

Me too! I haven't added a ticker because I am not sure how I am going to fit it in my siggy>? Hahahaha...

The last time we stayed at POFQ (two years ago at this exact moment!) We rode the boat....and it started to rain about an hour after we got to DtD. We decided to leave, and rode the boat back. We were the last boat to leave, because half way home it started lightening! The rest of our party was stuck at DtD...and had to ride buses home...I say busES because, even though they did not all leave together, they all had the same experience. Their bus broke down and then had to wait for another bus to come and get them! All the while they were FREEZING because they were soaked...the only thing on the bus that worked was the air! LOL

We left right after lunch...about 1. We had ADRs at Chef Mickey's at 5:30...they barely made it in time!

Which is one of the reasons I like to drive....

Nini

Totally understandable... There is something about that guy's voice on the bus though... You know - the guy who does the announcements... He is EVERYWHERE and he is kind of like our favorite Disney scent... LOL Hearing his voice reminds you of home. LOL I know it makes no sense to anyone but maybe you. LOL

I'm back from girls' weekend and all caught up..

Yay! I hope you had fun, I leave for mine on Thursday afternoon.

It's good that you are doing shortened updates on the weekends...I can catch up from the stuff that I missed throughout the week....and it will last longer

LOL Yah - I think I like that routine better too.

That bus ride sounds horrific...I hope that kind of thing is the exception rather than the rule, but I think we will be driving a lot anyways to take the scooter thing for mom's DH

Well, now we know to plan more time between DTD and FQ.

love the bag....(of course!)

Thanks!

Can't wait to hear about the new project....even if we do have to wait for a while

As much as it pains me to make you all wait... It will be cool when I do reveal it.

BTW I love the dancing in the room photos....that looks like something I would do (catches your excitement perfectly)

Thanks!!! I love them too!

No major updates until this morning!! I am CAUGHT UP!!!

Yay!

I LOVE LOVE the pictures of you dancing.

Hahaha... Yah - it was cool.

I do the same.. But my dance isn't so photogenic! HA the PP pictures are FABULOUS! i just love all you guys Yes the last post was a spelling error.. I loved the RIDE pictures!!! GEESH! Bad fat fingers!

I think it should be a requirement that everyone doing a TR MUST post their room dance photos.

and thanks to Kathy who cleared the singing in the rain.. Sorry I thought you were caught up with Kathy's report.. It was pretty fun...

Sorry... I am sort of caught up there - I don't read a lot of the in between stuff, because I don't know most of the people that post there - so I usually just read her updates. Sorry... I will try to read more of the other posts.

Speaking of rain! you had a bot of wash out! but i bet it helped with the heat?

Nope... That's what I thought too, but MOST of the time - it was just RAIN... then it was hot again... Unless the rain occured later in the day - then it cooled off a little.

I always wanted to try Disney quest.. I still might with the little gamers i have living at my house.

They might enjoy it?

I said it on Facebook.. LOVE the Godmother! you did a BANG OUT JOB!
Even tho i missed the Vampire Mickey bag....

Thanks! Glad you liked it.

It looks like a beautiful day for DTD.

It was a nice day - besides the rain. LOL

I thought visiting Disneyquest felt like entering a time warp. It needs an update to say the least.

Exactly.

The overalls you bought for your nephew are adorable. My debit card is crying at the thought of visiting WoD. It's hard to say no to disney baby items.

Thanks! It really wasn't that hard... That was the only outfit we found that we really couldn't leave behind... Surprisingly - there wasn't a TON of stuff for little boys - older ones yes, but not the little guys.

Your bus ride sounds dreadful.

I wasn't the happiest of campers having to walk back to the resort soggy and wet. LOL

Hmm... I'm interested to read where you went.

Hahaha... Me too!

D-

Well, I never had much desire to try out DQ, but certainly now after your experience, I REALLY have no desire to try it out. I would be especially ticked if I had shelled out extra money for it!

Yah - I am so happy I didn't spend extra $$ on tickets for it - I would have been so angry.

Love the sweatshirt in WoD, but I agree $58 is a little pricey! I would have balked at that too.

Yah - it was just too much!

So glad you got to check out one of our must-do's everytime we go to DTD: Ghiradelli's. I always get their brownie sundae- it is to die for!

Mmmm... OK the brownie sundae is now on my must try list! That sounds PERFECT!

Can't wait to hear where you guys are going next!![/QUOTE]

Me too! LOL

Okay I just LOVE these photos of you! You at your happy place!!!!

Thanks! I was so excited when I saw that Alli had captured that moment!

We went to DisneyQuest once and that enough for all of us. Our three kids were all teens then and our son was really into those kinds of games. But the place just isn't fun enough to waste a park day going to. And I hated the claustrophobic feeling of the building. It felt like something out of those horror movies where you are trapped and can't get out. I hated it.

Yes - it was very difficult to get around and very easy to get lost - I can't imagine how difficult it would be had the place been full?

This is adorable. When I would see things like this back in the days when I was sewing, I would say to myself that I could make something like that myself, and then not buy it. Then I never would get around to making it and wish I had just bought the one in the store in the first place.

I did say that, when I bought it... but then I came to the realization that I just don't have the time - I am glad I got it for him and didn't put it back. It's already in the Netherlands waiting for next summer.

Everyone seems to get the bus from hell when coming back from DTD. My sisters were staying at FQ, went to DTD and then took the bus to the Grand Floridian for our ADR. Needless to say they were late because they were on the bus from hell which took over an hour to get to the GF from DTD. The tales of horror from the bus system make DTD a very unattractive destination, although I think I would be tempted to take the boats if I was staying at one of those resorts.

I will always remember that about the bus from DTD... The one TO DTD wasn't bad.

You did an amazing job on this applique. Her expression was the first thing I noticed when I looked at this post, her face just seems to relay a warm / happy feeling.

Thanks Liz!

Looking forward to seeing your other project but it sounds like we may have to wait until your next PTR?????? I'm sure it is perfect and since both girls like it I will say it is a winner before I even see it.

Maybe... I am not sure when or WHERE I am going to post it? LOL

Such cute pictures of the girls with Tink. I see you made it to Disney Quest. Our package for this trip came with two free vouchers for DQ and I still have no desire to go there. But at least you got to try it out and not have to deal with crowds. I didn't realize there was a boat at DTD but that last few times I have been there the weather was perfect and it was nice to wander around. It was at night and there were lots of street entertainers so it was a nice walk but I will have to keep that in mind for future reference.

Yah - I really don't recommend DQ, unless you have extra WPF&M passes to use, or you can get in totally free.

Love the pictures that Alli took of you in the room. I'm impressed that she had her camera ready to snap some pictures - the sign of a true photographer.

Thanks! I am so glad she got them!

I have lots of other PTR/TRs to catch up on but I am a little far behind because I killed my laptop. Water + Computer = BAD For now I am using an extra computer that was collecting dust in my husband's home office (he is a computer guy) so at least I have something but since it is not portable I am limited as to where and when I can use it. No complaints because I am happy to have it and the monitor is nice and big so I can see all of your PP and bag pictures better.

Oh no! Ours is almost dead too - something went wrong with our power supply, so Josh needs to order a new one. Glad you can see everything BIGGER now though!

I can't believe how quickly your trip is coming... I wish you'd take the time to tell us a little about your plans, since you are not doing a PTR. popcorn::

Happy Monday!! You totally did capture the expression of the Fairy Godmother on your latest bag. Wow! Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious!!

Hi Lois! Thank you!

1. I still love the TT ride itself, I could do without the design aspect of it though.

We didn't even do the design aspect - we just rode it.

2. Love, love, love the Goofy photo of the girls!!! Too funny!

I loved that one too!

3. Normal is a setting on your dryer, silly girl. Everyone knows this.

hahahaha

4. i trace patterns too. What a boatload of time it takes!

It does - it takes for ever! But I like using them with the thicker paper anyways, I am always afraid I am going to rip the tissue paper. I LOVE Oliver & S patterns though, they put theirs on a nice thick tissue paper - it's so much easier to work with - even though I still trace it. LOL

5. I totally get the fabric layer thing. It would definitely be a learning curve to get used to it. I sure hope Mr. Rocket straightens up for you!

It was bizarre - but I managed to get through it.

6. Love the photos with the fairies and Tink especially.

Thanks! They did turn out cute!

7. Okay, so those photos of you in your room when you first arrive could be ME. I am so glad I'm not the only one. When we're on the ME and on our way, Dan always leans over and whispers, "We're almost home".

Awww... That's so cute!

8. I haven't done DQ for years. Unless you're talking Dairy Queen.

hahaha... Well THAT dq would be a LOT more fun!

. Ghiradelli is AWESOME! And I second the brownie sundae. Unfortunately, we are usually too full from the dining plan to indulge.

OK - that bugger is now on my must do list for the next trip.

10. Your bus ride reminded me of one of our own. We were going to see Cirque de Sole and we were coming from Wilderness Lodge. We had allowed well over an hour to get where we needed to be. All was going well and when we got to the Market Place, Dan asked the bus driver if he made another stop or should we get off there (they had always stopped at all three locations in our experience, but he wanted to make sure). Anyway he said yes two more stops. Great. We stopped at Pleasure Island, or whatever they call it now and we sat tight. The only ones on the bus. But instead of stopping at the West side, we went to the water park next. What?? So we asked the guy and he said they hadn't stopped at West side for years. We thought he understood that we wanted to get off at DTD. So, we rode that stupid bus to every location it went and barely made it to Cirque on time. I don't remember where all it went, but a couple of resorts for sure.

Oh no!!! That is awful! I am glad you made it on time though.

Your updates put me right back at Disney and it is so fun the way you write about your day. Thank you for taking the time to do this. And, fasten your seatbelt for tomorrow morning...it's going to be a bumpy ride. (but fun!)

Awww... I am glad you are enjoying my report. I love writing about it and telling people who UNDERSTAND the magic!

D, Wow, love the Fairy Godmother Bag! Her expression is awesome. You are a very talented lady. Cute "happy dance"

Thank you Sheila!

My mother and I both can raise one eyebrow up...mostly when we disapprove of something... My husband "made a suggestion" the other day that I didn't like and he said "I guess that's out because there goes the eyebrow!"
Sheila

hahaha... Well, he knows you well. For me - that look is more of a "growl" LOL

Well, that was a "wet" update, D.

Hahaha... Yes, yes it was.

I have to tell you about Disney Quest. When it first opened, my boss and the chairman of Disney something or other at the time, were on the same board. The Disney guy gave us passes to Disney Quest, lunch at Wolfgang Puck's (on the West Side...not the counter service one), hats, water bottles and stuffed animals for the kids. Any way, long story short, we did DQ, and the next year we were planning our trip we told the kids they shut it down because it wasn't a success. Yes, bad mommy...but a mommy who still had money in her pocket.

ROFL... So, have they realized (now that they are older) that DQ is still open? LOL

The Tigger outfit for your nephew is absolutely adorable.

Thanks! I thought so.

Sorry about all of the rain (we sure had plenty of it, didn't we?). But glad you got to stop at Mark's favorite ice cream shop for some ice cream.

Yah, we had enough rain - that's for sure. That icecream was TDF! I could go for one right now.

That sounded like the bus ride from he double hockey sticks.

I was not a happy girl!

Those pictures of your FQ arrival....LOVE THEM!!!! That is just so incredibly awesome! The sheer joy that we all experience when arriving to our happy place is so gloriously displayed on your face! WTG Ally for capturing that!!!

I was so happy that she captured it too! I couldn't believe that I was still holding those heavy bags though - I shouldh ave put them down first. LOL

OMG~ now I have something else to add to my must-do list at DTD... a hot fudge sundae at Ghiradelli! NOMS!!!! Having it split looks like the perfect idea too, just the right amount!

Everyone above said to try the brownie one... So, that's next on my list. And yes, the split size was just perfect! Especially since we were on the ddp.

Okay, so I just finished reading the third Kingdom Keepers and it has an excerpt from the next one...and it takes place at DQ! The first chapter has an "incident" on the virtual space mountain! I am sort of hooked on those books now...

Interesting... I have not started those books yet.

And the bus ride from he**...EEEK, what a nightmare, considering you could have gotten there faster taking the stinking boat!

Yah - I would have much rather taken the boat... but since they weren't running... Sigh.

I'm joining near the end... but I'm all caught up!

Welcome! Glad to have you here... I wouldn't really consider this the "end" - more like the "middle" I have a lot left to post yet... LOL

I love flying out of the small airport, but agree the food choices could be better!

We must fly out of the same airport? LOL I love the small one - it's so much easier with the girls - if only they'd put a Caribou in there, many people would be so much happier. LOL

Your bags (shoes and head peices too) are fabulous! Your sewaing space is also amazing. I love that you use older machines! I am learning to sew -- it's harder than I thought!

Thanks! I make the bags myself, but my friend Jen does all the headpieces and shoe bling...

I love my vintage machines - they have such personality, and they are so dependable. You need to check out the Disboutiqer thread in the "families" section - they are super helpful and super knowledgable.

Sorry about the rain. I hope it cooled the weather off for you! I'm wondering when did Ghiradelli change to small plastic cups? We skipped it during our last trip, as we had just been in Chi Town and had it. What a bummer!

No, the rain didn't really ever cool it off - just made everything wet and humid. LOL

Ghiradelli split our treat for us in the back, so that's why we had the smaller cups - if we would have all ordered our own, we would have had bigger cups. :thumbsup2

p.s.
The time alone with your girls is priceless! Such amazing memories!

Thanks! I am so lucky to have them! We have so much fun together!

I'm avoiding real life. Dis is the best place to do that, so I've done more reading in the last couple days than the last couple months.

CHERYL!!!!!!!!!!!! Where have you been??? It's been too long! I hope you are well.

I can't believe that your trip has come and gone. How did that happen?!?? Sorry you got some crummy weather, I thought the weathergods saved rain for my February trips.

Oh no... They gave it all to us in Aug. LOL Feb should be good for you this year.

Looks like you and the girls packed a lot into your time and got to see a lot of people and greet mucho characters and partake in a few good meals. You won't need to go back for a couple years.

We did manage to get a lot done. Hahaha... Not sure about that last sentance... We'll see. LOL

I got to see one of your Donald bags. The owner looked ready to have a meltdown (no Toy Story Mania fastpasses left? or they droppped their last beignet?) so I didn't introduce myself, but I got a photo. As soon as I find my camera I'll post it.

That's awesome! I would love to see which one - I think I have only made one or two that weren't for me.

Your bags never cease to amaze me. I sewed a bunch of stuff over the summer for a craft fair at a church we formerly attended. I made 10 wristlets, three AG pajama sets, three AG T-shirt and skirt sets, and two sets of AG quilts and pillows. The sale was three weeks ago and I wish the women would let me know how they did. I know I should have learned my lesson many moons ago not to make stuff for church craft fairs (too heartbreaking to see what they sell for) but I was bored so volunteered to sew.(At least I got it out of my system.)

Can't wait to read more and see more.

Sounds like you had a crazy busy summer! I hope you were able to recoup some of your costs, but most importantly, I hope you had fun! Thanks for stopping by Cheryl - it was great to see you, as always!

Just checking the DIS on the go and low and behold it is Cheryl. So I had to check in to say hi. We missed you around here.

I agree!

Love the pics of you dancing in the room!! I feel like that everytime I get to Disney!

Sorry about the bus ride. It sounds awful!!

Thanks! Yah - that bus ride was no fun!

Love your celebration dance pictures! That sundae looks so good!

Thanks!!! That sundae was delicious! I could go for one right now. LOL I wonder if they ship?

I'm trying to keep up with your trip report! Darn work keeps getting in my way

LOL Bummer that we have to work huh?

I love your last two bags, especially the Halloween bag!!

Thanks! I was so happy that I was able to do a halloween bag this year.

A's pictures of your arrival are great! I think that's how we all feel when we open that door for the first time (unless there's someone in the room - been there done that)

OMG! That is awful and super embarassing! But LOL... I hope you got over that one real soon.

GREAT photopass pictures - you sure know how to get your money's worth out of something

Yah - sometimes it's a curse... Like when I get home and I have to edit them all. LOL

LOVE the happy dance photos! That's exactly how I feel whenever I get to Disney.

The Ghiradelli sounds marvelous!

Thanks! I am so happy that Alli captured it! And the Ghiradelli was amazing - it will be a must do forever.

I just love those first day pics of you getting in your room. I am sure I will do the same thing, so excited to go to WDW. Just love that Disney feeling!!

Thanks!!! Yah - I think everyone does their own dance. LOL

Those pictures of you on your first day absolutely do capture that moment. That moment of I'm here!!!!!!

Exactly!

DisneyQuest gets SUPER crowded at night. It's actually best to go early in the morning.

Really? I never would have thought... It was so dead there.

The pirates one was fun... The girls and I did enjoy it.

The bus ride was not pleasant at all. Sigh.

Finally caught up after what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend!! All started Friday after my Dr.'s appointment. I need a weekend from my weekend!!

Wow Sandra - what a crazy weekend! You definately need a rest after that one!

Love all the pictures. You guys are having so much fun! Can't wait to read what had you guys so excited!!

Thanks! I am excited to share it!

I'm back from my week at and I think that I'm finally caught up. It was really hot while we were down tere and there were a couple of days that we had heavy rain fall.

Welcome back Liz! I hope you had a great trip!

I'm sorry about your burger at SciFi. We've eaten there several times and never had an issue with the food.

I don't think it would keep me from eating there, I would just make sure I order my burger a bit more done LOL

The photopass pictures turned out great. I love your expressions in the ride photos.

Thanks! I wish we were a bit more creative though... I will have to do some research on some great ride poses before we go again. LOL

Oh no! I totally agree though - I really think that whole monorail system needs to be updated... But right now they are pouring all their $$ into FLE and the new DVC at the monorail resorts... However, i am sure all those DVC members will be quite annoyed once they are all stuck on the monorail forever... Hopefully they fix it soon.

I love the Halloween bag and can't wait to see your latest project.
Liz

Thanks! I am very happy with it all!

Oh the Gaston pics....it was so much fun watching you guys interact with him. I remember laughing my butt off when I saw you squeeze his muscle He was hilarious!

Hahaha... I forgot to tell the story of how you rescued me from my poncho... I'll leave that one for you to tell in your TR.

And I just love the series of shots of you doing your arrival dance. But....I think it would have been more appropriate if you had done this little dance in the lobby with me

Yup - next time we will do THE dance together Suzi!!! There will be a next time - right?

Love the Godmother bag. Stunning.

Thanks!

Glad you did DQ. I have always wondered about that. Maybe when Bradey gets older. I'm sure there will come a time when he likes video games...try as I might to keep him away from them...maybe we will try it then.

Yah - you aren't missing much - IMO.

OMG!!!! - We forgot to visit the Fairies this past July.

Oh no! All the reason for another trip. Hahahaha.

[Love T-Rex Restaurant, eat there every year. :thumbsup2 Signed up for the dining card at Rain Forrest before we left home and received a 20 Welcome New Member and a 20 Birthday Wish credit. Able to take 40$ off at T-Rex off our bill this past July.

We have never been there... It sounds like fun though -a nd it sounds like you were able to get a crazy good deal - I am all about that!

[Love the pic with you in the room. As the OP replied "We are finally here"

Exactly! It was the perfect moment!

**********************************************************

I worked all day in my sewing room yesterday. I was able to get my next custom order quilted.

Then last night, I had to run to town, because last week's custom order had to be mailed directly to WDW - which means I had to ship it via UPS.

While I was in town, I did my Zumba class - it was fun.

I came home and went directly to bed - I didn't even wait for Josh to come home from his meeting. I was so tired.

Today will be crazy - as some of you know, I will be taking custom orders again - which is always very stressful on me. It takes me a long time to get everyone organzied and into their spot for next year. Once I give out dates for a bag order - from my end - they are set in stone and I have yet to ever deviate from those dates - so it's just really stressful to make sure I can get as many people plugged in before their trips as possible. I tend to take my schedule more serious than some people do.

So, wish me luck as I try to make everything work over the next few days.

I hope you all have a fantastic day today! Sending out prayers to everyone in need.

D~

And we were off - yet again...

We were on a bus headed to MK at 4:30.

What? MK?

Yup... I happened to be on MDE 2 nights before - and I noticed that there was a 1900 Park Fare ADR open on our day off... The girls loved the idea of meeting the Steps! So, I cancelled our original ADR for Rose & Crown, to make room for 1900 PF. :woohoo:

From the MK bus, we hopped the resort Monorail... As we were traveling around the loop, I looked out to see a rainbow over Wilderness Lodge.

We checked in for our ADR at promptly 5:30, they took our photo and seated us right away.

Our server came by, and advised us to wait a little bit to get our food, since the Prince was near, and everyone else was just behind him.

We took her advice and waited.

Drizella did not want to sign Victoria's pillowcase... I can't remember why, but V was trying to coax her into signing...

Finally - it was time for some food! It was very good. I didn't realize when we booked that this was an Asian buffet - and I love potstickers!

I know, I know - doesn't this half-eaten plate of food look appetizing?

Or how about this one? LOL

From there, the girls and I wanted to wander around GF for a little while - this was our very first time at this resort, and Alli wanted to take some pictures.

We also went into the gift shop, and I purchased a bracelet for myself - I saw it and LOVED it immediately. However, I did not take a picture at this point in time - I do have one later on in the TR for you though.

I also drooled over these earrings... This was ONE item I had been looking at all week - every shop we went into, I had to find them and look at them. I really wanted the sterling silver ones, since I had purchased the cheaper ones a few years ago, and the stones fell out as soon as I got home. So, I really wanted these - but $45 (even if they were sterling silver) was a lot more $$ than I wanted to spend. So, I resorted to a photo, and I counted all of my souvenir $$ when we got back to the resort. I told myself - if I had enough $$ left on the last day - I was taking them home with me.

A couple of GF photos for you all...

A beautiful resort - I wouldn't object to staying here some day.

We took the monorail to the MK and a bus back to FQ.

The girls went for a swim while I prepped my bag/clothes for our very EARLY morning the following morning.

Early??? :scared: Oh no... Why so early???

Park Faire looks so fun!!! I have heard the step sisters are hilarious! I definitely have this on my list of someday "must dos".

Great pictures!

We ate dinner there in February and it wasn't Asian then. I had the most delicious chicken Marsala ever. Did they have the strawberry soup on the buffet the night you were there?

It looks like you enjoyed the evening very much.

OH MY GOODNESS that Anastasia has the face down PAT! Holy crow that's scary!
Our Anastasia i think also would play Ariel.. She sang for Meg and it was an eye opener how well she was able to sing.

Plus the Lady Tremaine? another scary looking character! :lmao:

I hope the interactions were good?

Asian food?!?! really?!?! i hope it was good?? this was a dinner right?

and a big dance: :cool1: on not getting stuck on the monorail!!! HOORAY!

GF is beautiful but not sure I would stay there. We plan to go see the decorations in Dec and thought about 1900 but not sure the grandson's would like it. My must stay resorts would be Wilderness Lodge and the Poly.

Just checking the DIS on the go and low and behold it is Cheryl. So I had to check in to say hi. We missed you around here. :)

:wave2: Hi, Liz.

:donald:

It's been a while since I've hijacked a TR (Andrea taught me well ::yes:: ) but I think it involves blathering on about MY life.

So, the back story to seeing one of your bags is . . .

My senior son joined me for part of my annual February solo trip to WDW. I splurged and we stayed at the Polynesian for the three nights he was there and then I moved to squatter's quarters at Pop Century.

The BPDE (Best Pixie Dust Ever) was seeing one of your bags, but we had a couple other PDs, too.

1. Got a Be Our Guest reservation at the end of the night when someone canceled AFTER we had already been told no tables.

2. Found my sunglasses at Lost & Found after they went flying off during Space Mountain. (The guy ahead of me in line was getting his wallet back.) They have zillions and zillions of sunglasses. If you ever lose yours at WDW, don't assume they're lost and gone forever. Check out Lost & found!

3. Got a FREE mini eyeglasses repair kit at the Polynesian for my son's sunglasses after he lost a screw,

but the BPDE was getting to see a D~ bag.

Since I expect that you've memorized every word I've ever written, you may recall that my favorite attraction is the castle. I enjoy spending time sitting on the benches around the hub and gazing at the castle, trying to imprint it in my brain so I can recall it when I return to the real world.

So there I was, on a relatively warm February afternoon. (In the interest of full disclosure, I may or may not have been eating a Mickey head ice cream.) I was doing what I do best, staring at the castle and doing some people watching.

:donald:

I thought I saw one of your bags walk by. It had the distinctive D~ flair to it, but it wasn't UPB shaped, so I thought it must be a knockoff. When I read your current Trip Report I saw that you've branched out from UPBs and are doing more messenger style bags, so I went back and looked through my photos and said to myself, "By, George, it IS one of D~'s bags!"

Like I said, BPDE.

I love my vintage machines - they have such personality, and they are so dependable. You need to check out the Disboutiqer thread in the "families" section - they are super helpful and super knowledgable.

**********************************************************

Today will be crazy - as some of you know, I will be taking custom orders again - which is always very stressful on me. It takes me a long time to get everyone organzied and into their spot for next year. Once I give out dates for a bag order - from my end - they are set in stone and I have yet to ever deviate from those dates - so it's just really stressful to make sure I can get as many people plugged in before their trips as possible. I tend to take my schedule more serious than some people do.

So, wish me luck as I try to make everything work over the next few days.

I hope you all have a fantastic day today! Sending out prayers to everyone in need.

D~

I have a couple of vintage machines too. Guess I need to get them out and start using them again. I have a 1925 Singer that was the same type of machine that my grandmother had and that I learned to sew on. My grandmother's machine was lost in a flood many years ago. The other one is a 1950s Featherweight, that I love to use for straight stitching and piecing quilt blocks together.

I also have 2 treadle machines - one a Minnesota from about the early 1900s. It was a precursor to the Kenmore brand, and the other is a Singer from about 1920. I haven't actually used either one
