~~ Sew hot, Hot, HOT! ~~ A sweltering Aug 2013 TR ~ Pre-Trippie link posted! ~ 10/31!

D~ letting go of being over protective is hard and I had boys, I can not imagine having girls in today's world :scared:

Enjoy your day of sewing :goodvibes

For the last few months, in my PTR - I had been doing random photos every day at the end of my posts from past Disney trips...

I've decided to start doing something fun... Rather than doing past photos every day, I've decided that I will post some of the photos that didn't make the cut for the TR.

I've added the first one to today's post above - so if you missed it (because I forgot to add it this morning...) - head back up there and check it out. :thumbsup2

D~

Oh no, there's nothing worse than feeling sick at Disney! I sure hope you guys woke up feeling better the next day.

Crowds sure can be crazy on Main Street around the time of Wishes! I've found that walking all the way through the Emporium seems to help. Of course you guys would have had to make it across the street from the Dessert Pary to get there!

Being sick in Disney is the worst!!! We were there for my son's 10th birthday. I came down with bronchitis and my husband came down with pneumonia! That was the worst. I am loving your trip report. I get to make ADR's on the 21st , I think that I am going to try LTT after reading about your meal!! Have a great day.

D~ Oh no how awful that you got ill during the dessert party but glad you all at least you made it back to your room and felt better. Being in the terrible heat of Florida can truly wreck havoc on the body.

And your right those crowds during the Fireworks can be just awful, I am a little worried about this year hopeing they extend the park closing time which helps some when trying to exit

Aww so sorry you weren't feeling well. I hope it was only the stress of a full day.

I am glad the girls like school so far. I am hoping everything goes well for C on Monday myself. I know when C was put in her art class last year she was so super happy. She loves art.

It wasn't long after, I really started to feel ill... Then Alli mentioned to me that she wasn't feeling well either. Uh-oh... Suzi leaned over to me, and said she wouldn't be upset at all if we had to leave... Once she gave me permission... That was it... We had to go. Thank you Suzi for doing that for us... I felt horrible... This was THE night we had all been looking so forward to, and I didn't want to miss it for the world. You all have no idea how upset I was over leaving, but we had to go at that moment - or we wouldn't get out of there for hours.

D~

Oh my goodness! I would have been devastated if this happened to us. I'm a cheapskate, too, ;) and it would have killed me to pay all that money and then not get to see Wishes. I'm glad that you made it back to your room though.

The heat of August would have killed me, too. :faint:

Finally, all caught up again on your TR. It's been a little crazy here! I thought once your child(ren) go off to college things get easier....NOT.

It was so nice of Suzi to allow you to share the Poly for the afternoon before your ADR at CRT. I feel your pain when the monorail wasn't moving. That has happened a few times to us. Thankfully, it wasn't too long of a wait. Unfortunately, you had to make a mad dash for your ADR's.

Glad to hear school is going well for the girls. It's not easy when they don't like their classes etc. I had many days where I had to pray really hard that things would work out. Sending a little pixie dust (and prayers) that everything goes well!

Nothing is worse then getting sick on vacation. I hope you all woke up the next morning ready to go.

I know I forgot lots, but I am multi tasking at work :rolleyes1

I hope everyone felt better for the next day. In fact, I'm going to go on that assumption while I wait for the next installment.

Good Sewing!

D, I am finally all caught up.

I knew Suzi was surprising you and I'm so glad it worked out.

That's a lot of food in one day in such a close time frame...I'm not sure I could have done it.

I have to say that the Cinderella at CRT is a bit scary looking. We've never eaten there. Although I'd like to, I'm not sure we ever will unless we have a granddaughter.

We were very full after our LTT lunch...but it was really, really good (although Mark hated his stuffing with his meal).

How nice of Suzi to let you rest at her room.

Awww, sick at Disney!!! I can imagine how terrible you felt leaving the dessert party. I am sure that is how we all felt at our Dismeet last year. Disappointed that we couldn't spend more time together...but so relieved to head back to our rooms and "take a load off." Disney is fun place, but we all push ourselves so much to fit as much pixie dust in as possible...and sometimes our bodies decide to revolt against us! :sad2:

I just hope you and Alli felt better for the rest of the trip! :goodvibes

I hope the girls are enjoying school and are getting settled in. All that homework on the first day. BOO.

That is a long wait for the fairies. We visited them in January with my niece, since she was wearing her Tink outfit :). The line moved slow but the kids were watching the show, eating a Dole Whip and sitting in the stroller so no complaints from them but it was a long line-even on a very low crowd week.

So stinky that you were not feeling well during the dessert party. I am glad you got out when you did because it would have been crazy.

I did have to go back to see your picture of the day. I think Buzz is saying "To Orlando and Beyond" ;)

How sad that you got sick at the dessert party. I hope a good night sleep made you both feel better. Think positive: The next time you go to WDW you have to do the dessert party again since you were sick this time around :goodvibes

So glad you guys got to spend a good amount of time with Suzi...and why does it not surprise me that she is one of those "always prepared" kind of friends? She just happened to have three extra ponchos??? That is AWESOME! :dance3:

Well, actually....it looked like rain before they even left our room at the Poly. I had plenty of extra ponchos and our trip was more than half over, so I gave them 3 from my supply drawer.....I wasn't carrying around 3 extra ponchos just in case :thumbsup2

Suzi leaned over to me, and said she wouldn't be upset at all if we had to leave... Once she gave me permission... That was it... We had to go. Thank you Suzi for doing that for us...

Oh my gosh D....you didn't need my "permission"....If I had known that's what you were waiting for, I would've said it sooner. Geez...what do you think I am?? Plus....I was sitting next to you....didn't want to get thrown up on..ya know :scared1:

So, I led the way... The girls and I made a chain... V held my bag strap, and Alli held her's... And we just made our way to the front of the park... Stepping over people, weaving through people, in and out of shops...

Oh yeah, didn't even think about that aspect of it. You do know that all the shops on the right side (going out of the park) are connected inside. You don't have to go in and out. Just head towards the back wall of the store and run right through. Much easier than fighting the crowds on Main Street, and it's air conditioned. ::yes::

Enjoy your day of sewing

It is so hard Sheila... There comes a point where you have to trust that you've given them the right tools to make the right decisions for themselves - and it's just so hard.

Yes - it was awful! We did go through some of the shops, but even they were crowded.

Oh no... that is awful! But yay for making ADRs in a few days... LTT is amazing - but I only eat there for lunch - other wise there is no Freedom Pasta. <--- And that's the whole reason we go. LOL

D~ Oh no how awful that you got ill during the dessert party but glad you all at least you made it back to your room and felt better. Being in the terrible heat of Florida can truly wreck havoc on the body.

Yes - I felt so awful about it... And I hated leaving - but it was a super long and HOT first day, so it was probably better that way.

I could NOT believe those crowds!!!

oh no!!!!

hey those are some really nice.....

Elbows..:lmao:

Hahaha... THanks!

Aww so sorry you weren't feeling well. I hope it was only the stress of a full day.

I am glad the girls like school so far. I am hoping everything goes well for C on Monday myself. I know when C was put in her art class last year she was so super happy. She loves art.

Me too!

So far, so good... but I think they are glad it's Friday - they are already sick of waking at 5:30am.

Oh my goodness! I would have been devastated if this happened to us. I'm a cheapskate, too, and it would have killed me to pay all that money and then not get to see Wishes. I'm glad that you made it back to your room though.

The heat of August would have killed me, too.

I was so upset about this, because it was very expensive. But I am glad we were able to experience a little bit of it.

The heat of Aug is insane!

Cute pics!

Thanks!

Finally, all caught up again on your TR. It's been a little crazy here! I thought once your child(ren) go off to college things get easier....NOT.

It doesn't??? Great... I thought my life would become one big vacation. Not so?

It was so nice of Suzi to allow you to share the Poly for the afternoon before your ADR at CRT. I feel your pain when the monorail wasn't moving. That has happened a few times to us. Thankfully, it wasn't too long of a wait. Unfortunately, you had to make a mad dash for your ADR's.

I know it was - I was so lucky! Yah - we didn't have much luck with the Monorail this time.

Glad to hear school is going well for the girls. It's not easy when they don't like their classes etc. I had many days where I had to pray really hard that things would work out. Sending a little pixie dust (and prayers) that everything goes well!

Thank you! So far, so good... but the first few weeks always goes well - it's after that, that I need to worry. LOL

Nothing is worse then getting sick on vacation. I hope you all woke up the next morning ready to go.

I know - I was so worried that night.

I know I forgot lots, but I am multi tasking at work

Yay for multi-tasking~! LOL

I hope everyone felt better for the next day. In fact, I'm going to go on that assumption while I wait for the next installment.

Good Sewing!

Me too!!! I should have another installment this morning.

D, I am finally all caught up.

I knew Suzi was surprising you and I'm so glad it worked out.

Welcome! I think everyone knew except for me. LOL It was just the sweetest gesture!

That's a lot of food in one day in such a close time frame...I'm not sure I could have done it.

I know! I was fretting over it for months! But it was the only day we could do the dessert party when Suzi was there.

I have to say that the Cinderella at CRT is a bit scary looking. We've never eaten there. Although I'd like to, I'm not sure we ever will unless we have a granddaughter.

She was very scary looking - I agree. LOL Oooh - a new Granddaughter, NOW that would be FUN!!!! Just think of all the Disney trips you could go on then!!!

We were very full after our LTT lunch...but it was really, really good (although Mark hated his stuffing with his meal).

I've never ordered anything that comes with stuffing there... I know at dinner time, it's a traditional Thanksgiving meal that's served... but we love the Freedom Pasta, so we only go at lunch.

How nice of Suzi to let you rest at her room.

I know - I don't think we could have powered through that day with out that rest.

I just hope you and Alli felt better for the rest of the trip! :goodvibes

I do think that's exactly what our bodies were doing... I was such a LONG first day - next time, I will have to be sure that we are taking it much easier those first few days... It's so hard because there is always so much you want to see and do.

I hope the girls are enjoying school and are getting settled in. All that homework on the first day. BOO.

Yah - and it just keeps getting better... Poor Alli was at the diningroom table from the moment she walked in from the bus until we went to bed at 9 - stopping only long enough for dinner. :crazy2:

That is a long wait for the fairies. We visited them in January with my niece, since she was wearing her Tink outfit . The line moved slow but the kids were watching the show, eating a Dole Whip and sitting in the stroller so no complaints from them but it was a long line-even on a very low crowd week.

Yah - a Dole Whip would have been nice, but the guy at the door said that we couldn't bring any food in - because I was talking about going to get a Dole Whip... That woudl have made the line much more bearable - IMO. LOL

So stinky that you were not feeling well during the dessert party. I am glad you got out when you did because it would have been crazy.

I was so upset about it - even now, I still regret it and wished I would have powered through.

I did have to go back to see your picture of the day. I think Buzz is saying "To Orlando and Beyond"

Hahaha!

How sad that you got sick at the dessert party. I hope a good night sleep made you both feel better. Think positive: The next time you go to WDW you have to do the dessert party again since you were sick this time around

Hahaha - you are right Lillian! We should!

Well, actually....it looked like rain before they even left our room at the Poly. I had plenty of extra ponchos and our trip was more than half over, so I gave them 3 from my supply drawer.....I wasn't carrying around 3 extra ponchos just in case

Oh that's right - I'd forgotten you'd given me the ponchos before we left your room! You are still the best though!

Oh my gosh D....you didn't need my "permission"....If I had known that's what you were waiting for, I would've said it sooner. Geez...what do you think I am?? Plus....I was sitting next to you....didn't want to get thrown up on..ya know

I know I didn't need your "permission" - but I was prepared to tough it out, I didn't want to disappoint you all by leaving - as I know all of us were looking forward to this night. But once you said it was OK... I was relieved... Well, if we are going to go - we must go now, because we will never get out if we don't. I didn't mean to insinuate that you were keeping us there or anything. :grouphug:

Oh yeah, didn't even think about that aspect of it. You do know that all the shops on the right side (going out of the park) are connected inside. You don't have to go in and out. Just head towards the back wall of the store and run right through. Much easier than fighting the crowds on Main Street, and it's air conditioned.

We tried to - but the shops were even very crowded - and normally we would take our time, but I knew if we didn't get to the end of Main Street before the fireworks started - it would be awful getting out. So, we weaved. LOL

**********************************************************

Yesterday was a nice relaxing "back to the routine of things" day.

I worked out in the morning. This is something that I am really proud of myself for... I usually go all out before trips and then I get lazy when I get home. But before I left, I made a plan and I set a few small goals (fitness related, not weight loss related) to attain after I get home. So far, so good. I am working my way towards those goals, and I am proud of myself for not losing sight of that. I hope to be in better shape by year's end and beyond. :thumbsup2

Then I went upstairs to my sewing room... yesterday was applique day. It went very well... Mr. Rocket has been a little tempermental lately, I am not sure what is going on. I opened him up and did a little routine maintenance on him before the girls and I left for our trip - and I didn't see anything amiss. I may have to investigate further this weekend. :scratchin

I did not get any Photopass photos edited yesterday, I still have over 200+ to do... I may work on that a bit this weekend too.

I am super excited because I purchased something FUN from Princess Pie yesterday - for our next trip... I've already been drawing up sketches of the coordinating bag, and outfit ideas! I don't know when I will get to it - and I have a TON of time yet before our next trip... but I love having fun things in mind. I hope to have a bunch of fun themes next time... I know - I am a NUT - but I love it, and it's so much FUN! I would never, ever consider dressing like that in real life - well - except for on Halloween. LOL

That's about all.

Today I will be working on some pre assembly and the final assembly of my custom order this week. I hope to finish it today - but it won't be until way later this afternoon if I do... So, you can probably expect photos posted tomorrow.

Today's Out-take:

IMG_0510-1.jpg

Have a wonderful day everyone!

D~

Isn’t being sick on vacation the worst?? You’ve made all these plans and prayed that no one gets sick before going only to get there and not feel so hot. Hopefully, it was all from the heat and lack of sleep.

Bravo to you all for even attempting a trip in August. I grew up in FL and I won’t go back during the summer. Summer in FL is like trying to breathe with a heating vent blasting at your face.

That Tink line is defiantly not the fastest moving line around. Most wait times seem to err on the side of longer than actual, the Tink one is usually accurate.

I have to agree with KatMark, that Cinderella was a bit scary….

Is it crazy that when I saw the purple and red on the FQ sign of the out-take that I gave out a little AWE?? You know you’re a little off when street signs make you wistful.

Christine

Love the little mermaid pics, sounds like loads of food but loads of fun, until you got sick anyways. yea for suzie glad she had the ponchos with her......
