The Best Way to End a Disney Trip
Seeing as how this was my last full day in Disney, I was hoping the evening was better than the morning had been! I took a nap to rest up and then head out to Magic Kingdom for the evening. First thing up was dinner. I kind of hate it when I go from eating lunch, sleeping, to eating dinner haha but that's just the way it worked out! I didn't just nap, I also packed and did some stuff on my computer back at the room. So anyway, I decided to try Tomorrowland Terrace since it was open and serving food. It's usually open "seasonally" which means almost never, so I was excited to try it. I had the Pasta Primavera with Shrimp:
I love pasta, but this wasn't quite as good as I was hoping. I'm not used to having a lot of balsamic vinegar in my pasta primavera. But regardless it was food, and a covered place to eat at that - since it was raining again!
The rain didn't look like it was going to let up, but it was light enough that I didn't want to wear my poncho. But still heavy enough that it was a pain without an umbrella! Sigh. So I hurriedly made my way over to Enchanted Tales with Belle, one of my new favorite attractions
I am a Belle girl all the way, and even though this show is really for little kids I love it. The show was cute as always, but the best part was the little boy that played the Beast. At the end he refused to dance with her because he didn't want to hold Belle's hands. Then when they took their individual pictures at the end Belle give him a surprise kiss on the cheek! The boy was horrified at being kissed by a girl and freaked out, running away from her and wiping his face reapeatedly!
I wasn't sure what to do after Belle. The rain had gotten very light. I had an evening to myself so it made sense to go back and do my favorite ride - Splash Mountain! What difference would it make getting wet when I was already getting wet in the rain? So I did that, and then poked around in some of the shops and did some vinylmation trading. I also wandered around to get some pictures:
And treated myself to a Dole Whip:
(The citrus swirl was far superior, though).
I also caught a dance parade coming through... tons of young dance troupes performing in Disney. That must be such a cool experience! I'm not really a dancer but I do theater and I love performing so I can only imagine getting to do it in Disney!
At about 9:00 I decided to stake out my spot for the fireworks. I had learned that as part of limited time magic, they would be showing the 4th of July fireworks all week starting with tonight! I was so excited to see it! I got a pretty good spot, got some popcorn and a soda, and just waited.
When the fireworks started I was truly blown away. I love Wishes, but this was the most amazing fireworks show I had ever seen. Ever heard the phrase "lit up the night like the 4th of July"? Well, now I truly understand exactly what that means. There were so many fireworks at the finale that it felt like it was daytime!
After that incredible display, it was time to make my way back to AKL with the rest of the crowds so I could get some sleep before having to leave Disney the next day
