Wow! The new room map is fantastic:cheer2: Thanks! A great thread just got even better:dance3:

I now see two woods view rooms at the end of the North Wing overlooking Bay Lake. Are they on every floor? What room request would get one of those if they're available?
If those truly are woods view rooms then I would love one of those, too. :goodvibes It looks to good to be true, though.

Currently my room request is Otter Pond, higher floor. I may switch "higher floor" to "open balcony". But I think I want to be as high as possible and still have an open balcony. Is that floor 5?
Yes, the fifth floor in the north wing near Otter Pond has open balconies.

Quick question about territory Lounge...are kids allowed? I know my daughter (8) would love the fondue and it would be great to stop in to get a quick bite after we fly in. Thanks!

Yes, kids are allowed.

When my son was little we watched a few World Series games there.

No age limit, everyone is welcome.

It does look too good to be true:)

Thanks for the open balcony information. Since I'm travelling with a family group requiring 3 rooms, I want to leave a fair amount of flexibility in my room requests. But I do like the open balconies and higher floors.

A few days back Raya and WDWKOOK were discussing these rooms as well. Looking at the satellite image they pretty much just look out towards trees that are between the lodge and the boat dock. Boat horn noise might be a bit of an issue, and they would have the longest hallway walk, but they do seem like nice rooms. They exist on all six floors, and have two regular rooms between the deluxe rooms on the corners. The same rooms on the South wing have a better view, but are listed as Courtyard view.

Was fortunate to stay in one of the end rooms in 2002. Would love to be placed in one of them in September as I have a woods view ressie. My prior stays I've always booked standard and only our first trip in 1998 we didn't get upgraded. But right now I'm just ready to go!

Our first stay at WL CL is in November and I am to trying figure out our view. We are booked standard with a queen bed and bunk beds. What view do we have? How far are the farthest rooms from the lounge? I am trying to figure out requests and don't want to be far from the lounge with a 2 year old. I heard north side woods view might give us a view of the castle? I would love that! Any CL room tips would be really appreciated! Thanks!

FYI, in the Dining Reviews there is a thread "Coming Live to you..." by jabead that had 4 current WL guests reporting. They are doing dining reviews of WL restaurants as well as others through out WDW. Lots of great food and pics, just go back a few days worth.:thumbsup2

Hi!

My family and I will be staying at the WL in Oct, yay:)

This will be our 1st time, and I've booked a Courtyard View. I have no idea what to request room wise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Dearest Most Wonderful WDWKOOK,
Thank-you SO MUCH for your guidelines (notice I use the term "guidelines"), on tipping, in response to my questions on Friday. I now feel so much better prepared. Sorry for the delay in responding to your response, but we were having a whole house contents tag sale last weekend, as we're planning on moving, so I'm trying to fit in moving from NY to Fla. while planning our Feb. WL trip(while also planning our F & W 5k in Nov, incl. an 11/10 dinner @AP:cool1:).

DH & I will be driving up to WDW,so we will have our car to use when necessary:drive:. During the course of our weeks stay, we'll be dining in every park, including a KTTK Tour @8:30am,Crystal Palace, Boma and Trails End also @8:30am. Would it be to our advantage to drive to MK or AKL instead of taking a bus or boat, due to time constraints? I'm assuming we'll be walking to FW for our TE breakfast.......

Since you brought up the IPO, I should mention that in general, the IPOs have been less and less helpful over the years. Many report that often the IPOs are suggesting that guests look up information/answers for themselves and they are often not directly answering guest's questions prior to arrival. They either defer to another source for answers or don't completely answer some questions. This can vary IPO to IPO so there is no harm in asking them questions or asking for help, that's what they are there for and that's in part what you are paying for! But, I have noticed this happening more and more lately. There is a Concierge/CL thread in the Resorts forum that has been discussing this unfortunate change.

Thanks for saying this. After reading the Club level thread I was super disappointed that my message was so basic. I thought maybe it was because I mentioned I had booked my ADR's already due to a change in our reservation, but all it said was we look forward to working with you, if you have questions please let us know. I sent a new message with some very specific questions and requests for help doing some special things. I would hate to have paid for this upgrade and not get the service that should go with it.

Just wanted to add: in July we stayed at Poly and had dinner at Artist Point. We took the boat over , but after dinner it was raining so we took a cab back. It was just under $5.00 !!! In case if bad weather, keep that in mind instead of fighting the busses.

Cabs to different resorts...I would so not have thought of this, but think I will put it in the budget. Thanks. Do cans go to parks as well form the resorts??

Can some one tell me what the Magic Cookie Hour is?
TIA
Yes please what is this?????

Does anyone know if I ordered room service if I would be able to order the mushroom soup and cobbler from artist point? Thanks!

Magic cookie hour???
I must have an answer to that question ;)

Yes, what is this???

This is all I have been able to find. It is from June 2012, so not sure if this is still accurate.

ETA - Looks like it's still accurate as the Magic Cookie Hour is listed in the August Activities schedule. http://www.themouseforless.com/tripplanning/resorts/wdw/pdf/WLCalendar.pdf

Looks cool but Saturday at 2pm we will be at the parks during our trip. It looks to be only Saturday.

Great question about the Mushroom soup for room service!!! I would love to know this as well!!!

Also: The Territory Lounge .... Can you order items from AP in there? Can my 16 year old be in there with us?

There is a lot of information on the first page, thanks to Kook, :) , and the menus are in this post:

There are photos of the room service menu, but it is hard to read.

Here is a link to the menu on AllEars:

You can take minors into the Territory Lounge. :thumbsup2

Congratulations. :) For Courtyard view, most people prefer Inner Courtyard, which faces the main pool. There are other courtyard view rooms on the South side of the South wing that face towards the villas and are quieter but generally not as pretty. You could also request "open to lobby" to try to get one of the very few "bear face" rooms that have the open lobby on one side and the inner courtyard in the other. The South Wing inner courtyard view rooms face towards the North and might see some of Wishes over the buildings. The North wing rooms are closer to Roaring Fork, the quick service restaurant and mug fill location.

Overall though you can't go too wrong, as WL is a nice relatively compact resort with everything under one roof. All of the rooms have their benefits, and you can make requests to try to optimize the location for your preferences or just go with it and see what you get. Enjoy, and happy planning.
