I'm staying BCV's the fridge is there actually it's a little bigger than a fridge in a regular hotel room. I've never stayed here before so not sure if they've changed them. Hth!

Not sure if this is the cause, but we booked BC under a travel agent deal that was offering rooms at either BC or YC in August (plus some other resorts). I think a lot of people have booked BC/YC in August using that particular deal. That may be a contributing factor.

I'm glad we're checking out on the 18th! I looked yesterday and there were still rooms available at the 30% GP discount. We originally booked the 30% discount but were able to change it to the 35% bounceback discount when we were at OKW last month.

This is helpful, thank you. I was going to pack a collapsible cooler, but really didn't want to give up the valuable real estate in my suitcase.

Really hoping this is done at BC before we arrive at the end of August. I may have to do a lot of re-thinking and re-budgeting, especially about breakfast, if I can't find a way to keep milk, yogurt and other perishable stuff in the room.

If anyone goes soon and gets more information about time frame on this, please post here.

Edited to add: Where can you get ice (and lots of it!) on property? We will not have a car this trip.

For those more experienced staying at the YC/BC area, is there a walkway behind the Swan to get to Fantasia Gardens MiniGolf? From the picture there is a road between the two but I cannot tell if it is a highway that cannot be crossed on foot. It appears there is something to the left of Fantasia Gardens that crosses this road. We are staying at BCV for the first time in October and thought we might try this one afternoon. TIA for your help.

It's not a highway, it's just a road. I don't remember if there is a sidewalk but I definitely remember walking there. We use to use those free golf vouchers all the time years ago. It is very close to the Swan, even closer than it appears on this map.

As Erika said it is good walkway. You just walk past the big pool and there is a pedestrian crosswalk over to the golf courses. Very easy.

The whole fridge thing has me wondering if CL might be worth it. There are CL rooms available for our dates -- do you think I could upgrade and still use whatever discount it was that I had when I booked? DH isn't home from work yet to put in his two cents, but it is our anniversary today....

I am really quite concerned about the lack of a fridge. I always choose hotels based on whether it has a fridge (And a safe) first of all before I look at other amenities. I've read that POR and AoA little mermaid rooms will have new fridges by end of July but I can't understand why they are not sorting the deluxe resorts first. Confused!

RE. ice: don't hotels usually have ice makers? If not how about the HESS station by the entrance?

We are staying CL and I no longer need the fridge for meds so this is a non-issue for me, but I can totally see how it would be a HUGE deal for some!
