Sharli & Shane's Wishes Wedding 12/1/13 WP/GF

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!

Ooh I must see pictures of these lighted slippers...which kinda makes me sad that SpectroMagic is over, at least I had read that. I hope it's untrue!
So bummed the table names were a no go...but hurrah to confetti cannons!!!!!

I read an article that said Disney has not "officially" announced the end of SpectroMagic. It was only reported that some of the old and worn parts of floats (?) were found in the trash. They could be refurbing everything, so there is still hope!! Here is a photo of the ice slipper with a purple light, of course ours will be all different colors.

Men are visual creatures, and mine is probably more so than any other I've met. With that said, I had to show him a photo of the confetti cannons and assure him they are not $3k. After that, he was on board. :goodvibes

Aww, that's too bad they can't do your table names. Is it a copyright issue or something?

You make a good point about the tulle canopy vs. the dance floor. I always find myself look down when I'm dancing, but very rarely to I look up at the ceiling. As far as a longer-term impact, the dance floor definitely sounds like the way to go! The BEO details are really the worst part. As we approached our last day to make final details it was really going back in forth about those small details, like adding the correct address for our photography to be mailed out to or making sure all the times for buses and events and photography were consistent. It took the longest to iron those bits out, and I always felt somehow naggy because sometimes I had to repeat requests for those small details a few times... Anyway, the BEO looks amazing and I can imagine how gorgeous it's going to be with all those details (and I'm sure it will be even MORE amazing than what I can picture!). If you don't mind me asking, you have a bunch of bell services fee in your invoice. Is that how they transfer things around in the resort venues?

Also, I love how the guestbook is shaping up! Can't wait to see it all painted!

Yeah, they won't do the table names because of licensing issues. I'm a little bummed, but it will be ok. I know we can come up with something else. Oddly, I seem to have taken care of most of those little details, though I'm sure there will be more later. There's only one charge for bell services, $10 (I think I listed it a couple of times). I think that's to move all of our belongings to our room after the reception instead of having someone from the bridal party miss out on any part of the reception/dessert party. It's certainly worth it so my MOH, bridesmaid, and mom don't miss out on anything!

I forgot to mention in my last post that, when I emailed Impressions about the table names, I also asked about escort cards and programs. I had them send me a photo of an escort card and gave my ideas for the programs as well as the table names. Well, we know how the table names turned out. LOL

So, Amanda sent me a photo of an escort card she did for another bride. We are going to have concert tickets designed for them! They will be attached to the ear of the Mickey hats we are getting for everyone. We loved them so much that DF didn't even ask the pricing. LOL

For the programs, I wanted to do something a little different, something I'd never seen before....concert programs. Well, this is apparently very expensive...at least the way I'd like them done. It would really break my heart if we spent all this time and money for everyone just to throw them in the trash. So, we decided to make it something no one would throw away. LOL I've only posed the idea to Amanda, so I'm not sure how much it will cost yet. Our new idea is to do CDs. We will get discs and jewel cases. I'm going to create a photo montage of us from birth to present, ending with some of our engagement photos. The cover will be a photo of us with our names and the date of the wedding. Inside that will be the wedding party with titles. The MOH, Best Man, bridesmaid, groomsman, DF and myself will be "The Band", our moms, my brother and the officiant will be "The Roadies", there will be a place for "In Memory Of" and "Thank You" messages. The back inside cover will say, "And They Lived Happily Ever After...", this will be visible when the disc is removed. On the back cover will be the list of ceremony events and songs. I'm hoping this turns out to be cheaper since we only need about 25 and the discs and jewel cases are fairly cheap. I also feel like it helps to create a "story". They get the CD, they go to the "concert", and then it ends with fireworks. I was taught in college that the collection of clothes should tell a story....apparently I haven't forgotten to have a story and cohesion.

We bought the guys shoes this weekend. I will take a photo when we get them all in since we had to order two pair. I also started painting the guest book. That is going to be a project....a long one. Anyway, I think that's it! I'll be back in a few days to give another update!!

I LOVE the CD idea. I think that it fits with your theme so perfectly, I hope the pricing works out and you can do it!!

Seems like everything else is coming together really well; I think it's very cool that you got to add the confetti canons...that burst of color will really add some extra fun!

Good luck with the painting project, I'm sure it's going to turn out WONDERFUL.

Brooke

I looooove these! Do you have any idea how much the slipper/light combo costs?

Thanks!

The ice slippers are $25/guest. We love them. DF saw this photo for the first time last night and he got really excited about them. :goodvibes

Thank you! I think we're so in love with the idea that, if Impressions comes back too expensive, we'll see if we can find somewhere else. Though I'm sure it will be far more affordable than the program idea. Thanks for the luck on the painting, I'm certainly going to need it!

I am WAY behind on reading your PJ (sorry!!!), but holy cow I love the canvas idea! It is so neat!!! I love DIY projects.

Thanks! I worked on it a bit this weekend....I'm beginning to doubt that it will turn out the way I'd like, BUT I will keep going. Let me tell you, painting curvy lines is really hard! :crazy2:

I love the concert tickets and CD idea! It's too bad the concert program idea didn't pan out, but I think I love the CD idea even more. I love that it really does make a very cohesive theme.

You know I'm seriously in love with your wedding! I so wish I could stalk it. I live the CD idea. Btw, love the pic of the shoes and ties of the groomsmen on FB :)

Just read through your PJ! I am so excited for you!!! :dance3:

Your wedding looks like it's going to be a blast! Cannot wait to read more!! :)

Hi Sharli!

Can you tell me what the package is for your videography?

Awesome cake by the way- I love it and can't wait to see how it looks. :)

OMG, I need to update so badly! Work has been crazy and before that I fell into a funk where I didn't do much for the wedding, now we're four months out and I have SO much to do!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I haven't figured out the CDs quite yet, but it will come.

We're doing a ceremony only video package through Disney. They will stream our ceremony over the Internet, record it, edit it, and then have a copy for us by the end of the day. It's $1,400.

Hi everyone!!

I'm super late on an update, work got really crazy for a couple of weeks, but mostly I just haven't really been in the mood to do anything. I think I'm going through a down phase because no one has booked anything for the trip and I feel like I have to essentially plan a shower for myself. Honestly, I don't know exactly what a bride should feel like, but I just really haven't felt much like I bride during most of this process and it kind of makes me sad.

I don't have any more information on the CD programs, but I should begin conversations about them and table names again soon. I paid for the invitations, solidified the fonts, and I approved the proofs....

The RSVP:

Reception Card: (I know it looks like there's not an apostrophe on "Disney's", but I have been assured there will be one. LOL

And the inside of the invitation:

I love this font. It was one that Shelley went and found for me because I was having such a hard time finding one that would work with the rock theme we have going. I'm still not sure it gives that feeling 100%, but it's a little better and I just love it. A friend from work said it reminded her of Beauty and the Beast, gave a kind of romantic feel....my initial thought was similar with a kind of Gothic beauty. I believe I posted a photo of what the front will look like....gate fold. I have also requested that the guests' names be printed on the inner envelope with some artwork...which is pixie dust being sprinkled over their names. I'm hoping this turns out well because I love the way it looks in my head. I have been contemplating asking if they would put one together for DF and myself so I can see the final product, or at the very least send me a picture of what the inner envelope would look like.

Several weeks ago we got the men's shoes in....I took a photo of them and sent it to my mom. She thought we would need to look for a new tie for my brother, but I assured her that it would look different with the suits being all black. She said she trusted me. Then I sent her this photo with all the shoes and ties, separated by a pair of my black pants. You can see the colors look closer with the black....

So these will be part of the groomsmens' and my brother's gifts. We have also gotten them cufflinks which should be arriving any day. I really don't have much else to report right now. I'm sure I'll be back soon though since I have a very long list of things needed to be done still and only 112 more days to get it all done.

Sharli, I think your invitations are going to ROCK :yay: I love the font, it's romantic and gothic and I think really cool.

I'm sorry you've been kind of down. It kinda sucks when no one is as excited about your big day as you are...it makes sense logically, but emotionally, it feels so big and so important and how come it's not as important to them? I wish your people were making you feel more special!!! Hopefully as the invitations go out, and things start to move a little faster, you'll get that "bride" feeling back...

just try and remember that we're all VERY excited about your wedding annd everything you've planned...I think it's going to be a very fun wedding and all your guests are going to LOVE it.

Love the groomsmen shoes and ties, I think they are perfect. You're right about the black minimizing the discrepancy in the colors...I really like the way they look.

Hang in there and feel free to vent here...

Brooke

I love the romantic gothic look of the invitations. I know the feeling of trying to find just the right font or other detail that makes the whole thing come together. And I think it works here. And I can definitely see the Beauty and the Beast look your friend saw.

Love the groomsmen's shoes and ties, those are going to look so cool when it all comes together with the suits and all the decor you have planned!

love the proof of the invites and love the shoes with the black suits and matching ties!! I think that will come together really nicely and is such a fun touch to have them in different colors :)

Wow Charlie your plans are amazing and I love the groomsmen shoes!!!!! Your posts caught my eye and I started to read them, your a very lucky girl to be marrying the man of your dreams at WDW!!! Enjoy every minute of the planning and don't stress and you'll see everything will come together. I hope you don't mind if I continue to follow your posts, I will be down there at that time and of course I will be keeping my eyes open for you. I have 3 daughters who are already planning their DFTW, now they just have to be old enough to date! LOL. I called WDW when I got engaged.. way back in '89 and they said they didn't do weddings:sad: Can't wait for the big day, your pics will be beautiful you picked a perfect time to get married, the decorations at the holidays make it even more magical. So, the day of your wedding if you see a crazy lady smiling and waving like she knows you and u have no idea who she is it will probably be me :wave2:
